There are two Violet Evergarden movies right now the "Violet Evergarden: Eternity and The Auto Memory Doll (2019)" and "Violet Evergarden Movie (2020)". I've only watched the first one because the second one is just recently released and not even available to nearby cinema. But trust me it is really good like its first movie and anime series. The life of Violet still continues as she is trying to move on the past. She met different people and their story that gives Violet a reason to move forward. This slice of life and drama anime is beautiful and your heart will be blessed by the life story of Violet Evergarden.
Kimi to, Nami ni Noretara (Ride Your Waves) - 2019
Another must watch this Christmas. Its animation is unique (maybe because Netflix produced this film). But the one that I love about this movie is the Soundtrack. It blends really well to the the emotions in movie. The story is very simple but cute that everyone can enjoy. Its story is all about a girl who loves surfing. She mets a firefighter man and fall inlove with each other. Through surfing, their relationship gets deeper and with few twists and turn in the story how will it ends? A romance drama you need to watch this Christmas.
Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu (A Whisker Away) - 2020
Not a new story about a girl who turns into a cat so that she can get close to the boy she likes. Despite of its mediocre plot, the animation and storytelling is kinda refreshing and something you'll look for. Good anime for young and young at hearts.
Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterunda (The Anthem of The Hearts) - 2015
I really love how they use music to play with our emotions in this movie. It is a story of a girl who love fairytales. And after she found out about her father's affair and blame himself for the divorce of her parents, she claims that an egg seals her voice to avoid hurting others. And with the help of music and the boy she likes, the egg where she claimed that her voice was sealed started to crack and her fairytale like world started to turn into reality. Heartwarming story you can enjoy this holiday.
Kotonoha no Niwa (The Garden of Words) - 2013
For me this anime has the best visuals. The details in animation plus the narration of the main characters, what a great experience to enjoy this Christmas break. The story is all about a boy who skipped class on rainy days just to sketch shoe designs in a beautiful garden. She mets a high school teacher there and promised to himself that he will make a shoe to the girl. As they are together at the garden every rainy days, the feelings and burden that they carry are slowly alleviating. A beautiful story for a beautiful animation perfect this Christmas.
Sora no Aosa wo Shiru Hito yo (Her Blue Sky) - 2019
Now it is a messy love story. The plot is good but the storytelling bad. The story of two girl siblings whose their parents died in an accident. The older one singlehandedly care of her younger sister. To avoid being a burden, the younger one decided to move to tokyo after graduation to pursue her career in music. But the supernatural event occur to realize their true feeling and express their true emotions. A beautiful message hides in the messy story of this anime.
Hello World - 2019
Its an attempt to add romance in a sci-fi story. Although the resulting story is not that exceptional, it is still a must watch anime movie. It is a story of a boy who mets his future self and has a mission to find and save a girl that will be his future girlfriend. Is that really the mission of his future self? This story is really good especially for sci-fi fans. The plot is really unique among other time travel anime.
Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai (I Want to Eat Your Pancreas) - 2018
When you first read the title, you might think that this is cannibalism anime but fear not cause its actually a romance drama. And to tell you its one of the best. The plot is average but the one that caught me off guard was the ending. I mean I predicted that it will end like that but I didn't expect that it ends that way. I will not spoil you so I will leave it this way.
I don't know if I created a list that will warm your heart or a list of unpopular anime movies. But either way all of these is a must watch this season. And I hope you'll like all of them.
