How to help your children academically?

You may feel that your child doesn't care about school, he steals from studies and homework, and as a result, his marks start coming down. How can you help your child improve his academic performance? Keep these things in mind

Stress increases the problem:

If you pressure a child to study, he or she will be in trouble at school and at home. Perhaps he lied to you to get rid of his anxiety, hid his low marks, tried to sign your copy on the report card, or was absent from school. This will make the problem worse.

Tempting rewards do harm:

"We wanted our daughter to focus on studies, so whenever she brought good marks, we would reward her," says father Andrew. But our effort had the opposite effect on him. We saw that all his focus was only on getting rewards. Whenever he got low marks, he was not as sad as not being rewarded.

Blaming teachers will not do the child well:

If you blame your child for his or her teacher's shortcomings, the child may think that he does not have to work hard to get good marks. Thus he will probably learn to put his mistakes on others' heads and expect them to find a solution to his difficulties. In other words, your child will miss learning one of the important things in life, which will be of use to him in the long run, that is, he is responsible for his actions.

What can you do? Control your emotions:

If your mercury climbs when you see a child's bad numbers, you'd better not talk to him about the subject in a state of anger. In this regard, Brett, a father, says, "My wife and I have seen that when we talk to children coolly and in a friendly manner, it is of greater benefit.

Recognize the real problem:

There may usually be some reasons why a child has bad marks, such as naughty children at school harassing him; his school has been changed; he is afraid of exams; there is a problem going on at home; he does not get enough sleep; he has no routine of doing homework or finds it difficult to read it by ticking. Whatever the reason, don't immediately think that your child is lazy.

Parents who act with understanding live in benefit. "If one of my children comes up with bad marks in tests, I try to keep myself cool and ask him comfortably why he has got bad marks and how he can bring good marks in the future," says a mother named Emily. I also try to remember that I sometimes didn't get good marks when I was in school.'' "We keep an eye on our child's academic performance from the start of his new class," says a father named Edwin.

Some parents are conscious when they see a bad report about their child. But by then a lot of damage has been done.

Create an environment in which a child can read carefully:

Schedule homework with the child. Choose a place where there is nothing that can distract a child, such as a TV or mobile, etc. Spend a little time on each article to keep the child's attention on studies. Just consider the father, Hector, who lives in Germany. "If our child is going to have a test, we don't wait for him to come to the head, but get him to prepare for it a little every day," he says.

Explain the importance of studying for a child:

The more your child understands what it can benefit from going to school right now, the more interested he or she will be in reading. For example, with the help of a maths subject, he will learn how he can keep track of his pocket money.

Personal opinion:

Help your child do homework but don't do his homework yourself. "When we get our daughter to do her homework, she doesn't fight her mind, but leaves everything to us," says Andrew. So teach your child how he can do his homework himself.
