Types of Appreciation

There are many things a person can appreciate, especially a teenager. Edification, friends, family, friends and affection are just some of the things that can be considered consequential. But with the amplitude of change established by modernization and technology, it is sometimes arduous for teenagers to distinguish right from erroneous and good from lamentable. So it is consequential that he understands the kind of appreciation that will guide the cull of the right and the high caliber of appreciation that will be claimed and practiced.

First, Absolute Moral Values. It emanates from outside the person. This is the ecumenical truth that man accepts as good and paramount. These are the ethical principles that he strives to achieve and apply in daily life. These are the goals that last and last; it is acceptable and paramount to all people regardless of their race or religion. It amalgamates all people with God.

Values such as love, veneration for human dignity, love of truth, equity, placidity, deference for any property, family bonding, deference for life, liberation, labor and so on are examples of absolute moral values. They do not optate the status of life or race for us to claim. They have no cull of time, person, group or situation. It is natural for a person to set aside time to acquire and live them.

In our search for truth and meaning in life, we do not live in the world to peregrinate without a single direction. Albeit man is given liberation, his actions, views, notions and values should be consistent with the general truth. Anyone is in liberty to own it or not; but we must be inclined to accept the consequences of their claims or non-claims.

Characteristics of Absolute Moral Values

Objective. It corresponds to what it is (what is), what it was then, (has been) and what it should be (must be). It resides outside the human mind, higher than the human mind and it remains even when it is not optically discerned or reverenced by some.

General. It covers all people, actions and conditions or circumstances. Derived from Natural Moral Law, it is acceptable to all people, at all times, and to all cultures because it is predicated on human personality in general.

Aeonian. It subsists and will remain. It will not transmute even after a long time. Time, the notions, aspirations, needs and purposes of man change but it still does not transmute the absolute moral value.

Second, Cultural Behavioral Values. These are values that emanate from within the person. It may be the personal view of the person or the collective notions of a cultural group. Its goal is to achieve immediate personal or group goals. It includes personal views, opinions, postures and feelings. For example, if you grew up in the Philippines where there is a conservative culture, you will definitely change if you live in Europe. Here people are astronomically liberal. They may have credences that are acceptable to their society but not acceptable to us.

Characteristics of Cultural Behavioral Values

Subjective. It is personal or personal to the individual. It is the personal view, posture or inclination that results from the impulse of the senses, feelings, noetic conceptions, motives, experiences and habits. These are estimates that the outcome can only be visually perceived over a period of time or after optically discerning the result or outcome.

Gregarious (Societal). It is influenced by gregarious values - the gregariously acceptable comportment or comportment. This can lead to gradual change to keep up with the times and circumstances.

Circumstantial. It depends on the situation, the weather and the circumstances. It is often rooted in the subjective view of what is propitious or not. The cull made is often predicated on what is more congenial, commendable, consequential and pertinent to the current needs.

At first glance, we would cerebrate that moral values have nothing to do with practical values. Even though man was engendered with the natural facility to incline to good and eschew evil, he still has the facility to commit immoral acts. This is because of his innate impuissance. Sometimes, there are gregarious norms that become acceptable even if they are immoral. Sometimes people cerebrate that just because an act of society is accepted, it is additionally in line with moral standards. In human life, anywhere in the world, he is faced with personal opinions, motives, habits resulting from the prevailing culture and situations in which he has to optate between right and erroneous. Thus, as long as human cultural and behavioral values are not rooted in absolute moral values, there is always the jeopardy that he or she will contravene the Natural Moral Law. Because Natural Moral Law is the substratum, the root - the one that fortifies all cultural and gregarious values in deciding between right and erroneous.

As a person engendered by God with a mind and an instinct, are you steadfast in the face of conflicting influences from around you?
