Our Vegetable Garden
Since we have a small vacant lot at the back of our house, we thought of cleaning and removing the weeds to plant some vegetables.
After we cleaned, we planted some tomatoes, okra(lady fingers), upo(bottle gourd) and pechay.
We put a net around the newly planted pechay because the ducks thought it was a swimming pool when it was newly watered, lol. Too bad the other plants were really damaged by the ducks.
There is still space left for planting so we are thinking of something else to plant. We bought some eggplant seeds two weeks ago but they didn't grow. We bought a new one and hopefully it will grow now.
I have also planted some cassava on the sides. Anyway, did you know that cassava leaves can be eaten and cooked? I heard that in other places, they don't cook it because it said to be poisonous. But here in the province, cassava leaves are one of the delicious dishes. It is cooked in coconut milk with fish on top. You just have to make sure it's well-cooked.
Maybe it would be better if we also planted chili. If there are vegetables, there should also be spices.
The barangay gave us chili so we will plant that on the other side.
It really saves money when you have your own vegetables garden right behind your yard.
