STRUCTURE OF THE VERTEBRAL COLUMN

It is made up of 32 to 34 bones called vertebrae and has five regions:

Cervical: composed of 7 vertebrae

Dorsal: composed of 12 vertebrae on which the ribs articulate

Lumbar: with five vertebrae

Sacra: with 5 vertebrae welded into the sacrum

Coccygea: composed of 3,4 or 5 atrophied vertebrae
