According to these different Bible accounts (Matthew 14:13-21; Mark 6-Mark 6:31-44; Luke 9-Luke 9:12-17; John 6-John 6:1-14). In the feeding of five thousand men Jesus Christ showed an example of giving to those who really need our help.
Most times when God sends you to help others and those around you who you are better off with the much he has given you, instead of you to follow his instructions rather you try to give excuses, maybe someone who is in need of financial help comes to you for an assistance and instead of you to help the person from that which God has blessed you with, you begin to say that I don't have much and if I give this person this help now I will not have enough for myself any longer but you forget that it was God that gave you even that your little that you refused to give out. When you give to those that are seeking for your assistance even from the little you have, you may not know the relief and joy you have added to that person's life that needs your help, your assistance may even turn to be something great in that person's life tomorrow.
Your little faithfulness can bring about something great. Remember the journey of a thousand mile begins with a one step forward. If you don't make a step, you can not bring a change. There was this lovely story about some group of people that went to the city of No Rainfall, they came there to pray so that God will give the city a rainfall after so many years of draught, as they were praying, in the crowd that came for the prayer so that God will give them rainfall, only a small child of 4yrs of age remembered to come with a little umbrella while others didn't come with any umbrella to pray. In other words, they never believed that even in their prayer that God can hear their prayers and make the rain fall and also most times we continue to pray and ask God for an open door but we forget to make a step in the positive direction. Look at the little child in the short story I narrated, of all the persons that were there praying only her made a positive step in the right direction by coming with an umbrella to cover her head when rain starts to fall. Many times we have opportunities of making a great positive difference in our neighbor's life with the little we have, but we refuse to help out.
Imagine, had it been that Andrew one of the disciplines of Jesus Christ didn't make a step forward to look for the little boy that had five loaves and two fishes, would there be the feeding of the five thousand? No!, had it been the little boy with the five loaves and two fishes refused to give out his basket, would there be any miracle of feeding of the five thousand? No! This can tell us what God can do with the little we have if we can give out from that little to those we are better of.
Again it's important that we should not be selfish, we should not always look at what will come to us and what we will get than what will will give out because the word of God said in Acts 20:35 that "blessed in the hands that give than the one that takes". For us to change the way we behave, life is not about receiving rather it's about giving. So many people have tried to understand what happened in the feeding of the five thousand men in the Bible, they ask these questions how can Jesus multiple this five loaves and two fishes? Where did he stay to multiple it? Was it when he was praying that the loaves and fishes multiplied or was it when the little boy was giving the basket to his disciples that the loaves and fishes multiplied? So many people had their varied opinions, some even said it was a fairy tale that never happened but actually of a truth the story happened real.
Among the opinions they gave explaining what could have happened in the feeding of the five thousand by different persons, I could imagine maybe this was what happened during the feeding of the five thousand men, you know that there is no way a traveler will commence a far journey without putting what he will eat on the way as he travels, the people Jesus Christ was preaching to were coming for the Passover according to the traditions of the Jews and as they were coming for the Passover, some came with foods that they were with as they were traveling, the Jews prefer to take with me them breads as mostly the common good you can get around their city. When the came for the Passover, it was believed that none of them refused to bring out the food they came with to share with one another.
When Jesus Christ saw that some of these people that came listening to his sermon were hungry, he requested for this five loaves and two fishes and prayed over it so that these people can eat, all those that refused to share their food with others were ashamed and started bringing out their foods out they they all shared and ate. When they finished eating, the left over of the loaves and fishes filled twelve baskets. This could have been what happened due to we were not there when it happened.
But if this could be what happened, then it means that Jesus Christ change the thought of selfish people into selfless sharers, those that thinks about only for themselves, he turned them to start thinking for others. The miracle was not actually in the multiplication of the bread and fishes but in the change of heart and it is even a greater miracle to change the heart of men from thinking about oneself rather thinking about others.
Finally everything comes from God not man, when Jesus Christ brought the loaves and fishes, he gave thanks to God and prayed this prayer; blessed are you oh! God of all creations, for through your goodness we have received the bread that we eat and offer you. This reminds us that whatever thing you have, it's God that gave you all that you owe and have. No matter your religion, beliefs we all are called to always be selfless in helping others. It is our duty and obligations we owe to God which we all pray to in our different religions and beliefs.
My topic is "Give them something to eat", learn to be a giver, when I started with read.cash not up to 3weeks ago, the first 30cent worth of BCH I saw on my wallet I gave it out to appreciate other people's work and also encourage them to keep writing. Learn to share from that your little that you have.
Have a lovely week ahead and thank you for coming by. 🙏 Rafd9828
