Perfect Peace
April 24th, 2022.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27 (ESV) Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
People say there is no perfect peace, and today's world is ripe with conflict. We all desire perfect peace, but none of us is perfect. Perfect peace is just like a dream, and yet there are times when it can feel tantalizingly close.
Yet, even in the midst of mass conflict and violence, real peace is possible for each of us, and this realization could be the most important truth that humanity has ever learned.
Public figures, corporate executives, and members of governments may have the responsibility and obligation to bring about a lasting peace, but they will fail if we collectively surrender to hopelessness.
In politics and business we have become numb to leadership that has lost sight of its promise and purpose.
Achieving "perfect peace" means the end of all war. And in order to arrive at such a destination we need truly courageous leaders who are willing to acknowledge the flaws in the systems and institutions they are called upon to improve.
To achieve a lasting peace a leader must be fearless enough to speak the truth without any regard for their own well-being or position. A leader must also be wise enough to realize there will always be opposition to change by those who benefit from an unjust status quo.
A world where everyone can live in perfect peace. That's what Peace is all about. This is the guiding principle behind everything we do. It's a constant quest to innovate and to perfect the science of peaceful living. (From the Life, Peace website.)
Peace is a universal concept, yet so elusive. In most languages, the word for peace is the same. And yet, perfect peace is something we all search for. And it's possible to achieve. In fact, we all seek it every day.
Yes, it's possible to experience perfect peace right now, right here. We all want to find it—even if we're not sure what it is.
No one understands the desire for true peace and tranquility more than meditators who have uncovered its secret: the ability to be fully present in any moment.
How? By practicing mindfulness meditation—the simple act of simply being present in each moment.
Mindfulness is an ancient practice that has exploded in popularity over the past two decades. More and more scientific studies show that regular meditation actually changes the brain, making us less stressed, less fearful, and happier. Best of all, we can train our minds to be this way without even trying—it's simply a matter of practice.
Why not take up a daily practice of mindfulness meditation?
It may just help you find perfect peace.
We all desire perfect peace. We long for it. We dream about it.
But is it possible?
Can you find true peace?
For the Christian, peace that comes from God is possible . . . and it's found in Jesus Christ.
You see, peace costs. But it's also priceless.
Jesus paid the ultimate price so you could have perfect peace with God.
And He wants to give you that perfect peace, beginning now. Imagine living every day with perfect peace and knowing that at the end of your life, you'll go to heaven to be with God.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV).
We all desire perfect peace. We want to escape from the world, but don't know how. We want to live in harmony with each other, but are tired of fighting.
We want to love and be loved, but don't know where or how to begin.
Perfect peace is a choice that we all have within ourselves.
We can choose to look for it or we can choose to create it.
God is available and willingly to direct and give us Inner peace, Gods peace is precious and cannot be compared to the peace we get from the world.
