Today is December 14, a few more days to go. It's gonna be Christmas! I'm pretty sure all of us are excited. Are the gifts ready? Have you wrapped it already? I can't really contain myself from the excitement, I am really fond of buying gifts and of course visiting my family in the province.
Enough from these blabbering words.
As I scrolled up and down with my Facebook I saw a post regarding Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and I'm urged to write regarding this one. Does it ring a bell? Have you experienced this syndrome? PMS has a variety of signs and symptoms, including mood swings, breast tenderness, cravings for food, fatigue, irritability, and depression. It is also estimated that up to 3 in 4 women will develop some form of PMS during their period. I don't know if you have been into it.
Personally I experienced all of this when I was in highschool up to now, most especially the bruise that looks visible in my body that seems like I'm having a fight or someone hit me that causes me to have a contusion. At first I thought that I bumped into somewhere but what makes me wonder is that I didn't feel any pain at all. With regards to mood swings I do always have this one, I mean my mood instantly changes, from being happy to sad or worse angry for no reason and I feel sorry for my boyfriend about this. Worst case is when my monthly period is coming my breasts cause me so much pain that I don't even want to touch (sorry for the words). This torment will take almost a month before I can felt relieved.
Craving for food? Although my period is not yet approaching, I still crave to eat different kinds of foods, whether sweet donuts or chocolates or something salty to spicy. But the worst scenario is when it's almost my time, I can't resist eating sour fruit, especially the unripe and fresh mango. Almost everyday I have to eat this one or else my energy drains for no reason. My boyfriend can't even stop me from eating my all time favorite fruit. He is just too concerned for my health since he knows I'm anemic, my white cells are way higher than my red cells. But I'm a hard-headed woman so I can eat what I want.
Depression is a silent killer that causes so many lives already and I don't want to be one, however I have this though I tried to cope with it. When I'm alone I keep on overthinking things that might occur, my futuristic brain starts to wander that sometimes causes me to have a fever. Luckily, I have a person who can help me deal with this.
Having this PMS is like living hell, why? simply because it torture our mind and body. The discomfort and the suffering that some of the women had. On the oher hand, there's also a treatment to at least ease it's symptoms:
*Eating a healthy balanced diet including the fruits.
*Taking vitamin D, supplements, such as folic acid.
*Reduce the stress by making the things you love.
*Sleep at least 8 hours, don't sleep too late.
*Do some exercise the keeps your body fit.
*Avoid taking so much caffeine especially for those coffee lover.
*Drink plenty of water .
You can take some pain medications but if it's unbearable try to consult a doctor in order for you to know the proper way to handle it. Always take good care of yourself because no one will do it for you!
