Sacrifices of praise.
“God is always worthy of praise. And praise benefits us, too. When we praise God, we make room in our hearts and minds for Him to come in. Praise lifts our spirits and drives away the devil. So sing, dance, or lift you hands – do whatever you can to praise the Lord!”
Gradually, we are moving onto the end of the year like that and we would be wishing ourselves a happy new year soon which will come during cross overnight on the 31st of December.
Merry Christmas in advance to everyone on Readcash because in two weeks, we would be celebrating Christmas and thanking God for our families because many of us would be seeing them after such long months.
I always look forward to the programmes being held in the Redeemed Christian church of God (RCCG). Every August, it is the convention that lasts for a week and every December, it's called Holy Ghost Congress which lasts for a week too.
This year's own started on the 5th which was yesterday and will run through the 10th. Those who wouldn't be able to travel to the camp will join the online live show, either through video or audio and once your mind is connected to the program by faith, you are opportune to receive your miracle too.
Since I couldn't go, I made up my mind not to miss those days because the theme for this year's congress is titled “Double Portion”. The schedule for the programme was sent as PDF two days ago and I downloaded it and went through it so I will know when to join in. The only moment to join is when the general overseer mounts the pulpit and starts preaching.
Daddy started preaching around 10:15 pm last night and I immediately left what I was doing and connected to others who were in the camp already, together with others who are listening online from where they are. Just like I said, it's your mind that needs to be connected by faith and you will surely go home testifying. I love listening to Baba (the general overseer) preaching because he is always funny and his talks are explanatory with him carrying the anointing of God.
He talked about sacrifices of praise last night and explained the difference between praise, thanksgiving and worship. Thanksgiving is when you are thanking God for what He has done for you, even thanking Him in advance for what He will do because He is most pleased with people who give thanks even when they haven't seen a miracle but believe God will come through for them. He mentioned the ten lepers in the Bible who were cleansed but only one leper came back thanking God for healing him and he went home with double healing as the other nine lepers.
He said worship is like honouring and exalting God while praise is when you are boasting about God. Praise is like hailing someone and by doing that, you are making the person please to grant you what you desire.
Baba said when we praise God, we are acknowledging who He is truly and when we do this, it makes God happy to grant our requests. He taught us a song last night and it was interesting. The song was all about eulogizing and boasting about God;
He is the greatest
He is the highest
He is the oldest
He is the wisest
He is the richest
He is the beginning of the beginnings
He is the ending of the endings
He is the unchanging changer
He is coming back again to take us home.
Singing this song moved me and I found myself praising God which to me, was a big opportunity to do that at that moment in the night.
Day one is gone already and we move to the second day today. The program would have started because it's session by session but Daddy will be coming to preach in the night around 10:30 pm. I like the definition of thanksgiving, worship and praise. For me, they are like the triumvirate that one is not enough without the other two.
