yeah that is right about perfectionist and there was one of my friend in school who always cries after our grdaes for each subject have been distrubuted but why...because he did not get the full score though he might have the highest score and that is a very good example of a perfectionist or what do you think
Being the best in everything was an example of it, but to expect that she can get a perfect score is bad thing for her.Maybe he done her best is enough.
maybe
You are right there. But sometimes being a perfectionist depends upon someone's life experiences too. Sometimes that's what others instilled into them before they became perfectionist. And they're afraid to make mistakes and be a failure because they're afraid someone will belittle them or will definitely be mad at them. But still it depends on their willingness to change that certain kind of perspective in life. All your tips given above were stated clearly and are very helpful to overcome this kind of personality.
Your right. As I notice being perfectionist can bring you too disappointment,if you cannot reach your goal you will be irratable and angry. You can't feel the real happiness if you have the attitude like this.
Youre right, even a single mistake they think that their whole world gone worst.
It's a big deal for them .But this kind of attitude is hard to change. You need a long process for it. Sometimes it will end up to forever.
True, the grew up growing that kind of personality and attitude so its maybe hard, but moderation on something is a thing they need to do.
So nice and great article. In my work,I have a fellow worker that is perfectionist. It is really hard to be with her.She always want things to be perfect.Whenever she commit mistake she always depend herself and find way to blame it to others. She dont want to accept her mistakes because she thinks that she is always correct. She never listen to someones opinion. And I really agree that she find difficult to have friends.Because of being perfectionist most of our coworkers hates her.But since we need to work as a team we just ignore her and just focus on our work.
True, sometimes their mistakes was not being accept and keep blaming other people, to the point that people around her cant take her attitude on just only considering what she want, and even cause harm to others
Yes,you are correct. That we need a lot of patience when we encounter such person. We cannot even say them to stop it because it might worse the situation
In my case, perfectionism can only be found in certain segments. I am very precise when it comes to the spoken word or deed, that is the social aspect. Also as a teacher I always give my maximum in my lectures and that is the end of my perfectionism. As for my office, notes, desk, closet, and things like that I’m totally chaotic here, I like to say it’s creative chaos. Fortunately, I always and at all times know exactly where what was left or written to me. Not so long ago, I was able to write on the wall things that were important.
I so can relate to that. Quite a good description of myself. In some aspect I am perfectionist but in some others I am very chaotic. With time the balance came so I don't think its like what the article is describing.
Sometimes people wanted to make things right for their own pleasure.
That is very true. And very satisfying. :)
Yeah, a piece of achievements for them.
Maybe you are an organized person, not just so percfectionism within you.
Probably all people in some segment of their lives strive for perfectionism. Still, I think it can become a problem when someone wants everything to be perfect in his life. Then it can easily turn into an obsession and grow into a serious mental illness.
