Wise Thief (Short Story)
"*Because of hunger,a man once stole a piece of food and was ordered by the king to be hanged.* *When he was asked if he had any last words,the thief replied,* *" Oh King, I can plant an apple seed that will grow and bear fruit overnight.It is a secret, my father taught me, but I thought it would be a secret forever and died with me."* *A time was appointed the following day for planting seed.The theif dug a hole and said,* *"This seed can only be planted by someone who has never stolen or taken anything which did not belong to him,and asked the King to pardoned and let him free when nobody can plant the seed.The King agreed to his condition.* *"Because I'm a theif,of course,I cannot do it, the theif said.* *First, the King asked his minister to plant the seed, but he hesitated and said,"Your majesty, when I was young,I recall keeping an article that did not belong to me.Therefore,I cannot plant the seed.* *The treasurer where told to plant the seed,but he begged the King's pardon,saying that he also cheated someone,recalled that once he took o kept a precious object belongs to his Father.* *Finally the theif turned to them,"You are all mighty and powerful.You are not want anything test, you cannot plant the seed.* *"Yet I, who stole a little food to stay alive,am I be hanged.?* *The King,pleased with the man's wisdom and pardoned him.* *"Wisdom is a great power in hard times.*" Read.Like.Comment.
