There is a belief, that introverts are not talkative, shy and they rather prefer being alone. They have their own powers though. Introvert people have unique powers to help them transcend their introverted nature. They can gain abilities to give them an edge, so they can get what they want. If you keep reading you will find out how they do that.
"I already know how to be social." You think.
You can only assume, that this is some kind of misconception and that introvert people really don't want to be alone at all and would rather be with others. Or it could be, that they don't like going out and prefer staying in. It's probably a bit of both. There is some truth to it though. Introvert people do prefer being alone from time to time for various reasons. Instead of staying in, they might prefer to stay focused through meditation or other mental exercises, that help them relax.
Introverts probably have the quietest minds of all and because of that, many are often deep in thought about the various matters of the world. Some introverts have such strong willpower, that they are able to meditate for hours. Other introverts still prefer to keep themselves busy in small groups through socializing. They probably can talk for days non-stop about their favorite topics.
This group of people can be a bit tricky to handle. If you want them to obey your orders, you need to come up with a good reason for them. It's best to keep them in the loop about what is really happening. As far as the powers go, these powers may not be superpowers, but they do have some use. They can accelerate their thought process to nearly the speed of light, giving them a very quick reaction time. This can be used for answers to problems, or to instantly come up with various ways of doing things.
Abilities, That Are Common For Introverts
In the introvert group, you will find many different types of shyness. Some may even be afraid of their own shadow. They don't like to be the center of attention, and hate being pestered for information, they don't want to give out. Introverts can be very friendly people, but they'll only socialize, when they want to. Introvert people definitely don't want to be forced to do things against their will.
The following abilities are common to most introverts.
You have what is known as an internal locus of control. This means that you think about things before you do them. This can lead to indecision and procrastination. However, it can also make you extremely careful about your actions, since they actually affect your own mind. For this reason, you value your freedom. Although you are an introvert, you still have a lot of emotional strength. You can mask your emotions well, and can sometimes come across as emotionless.
You have some hidden powers of introspection. You spend lots of time thinking about things, and you probably have more knowledge about various subjects, than you let on. When you are forced to interact with others, you can do so easily. However, you tend to prefer your own company. You try to find reasons to avoid social situations whenever possible.
You can make very detailed plans for complex operations, that need a lot of preparations. You don't enjoy putting them into action though, and you will only do it if you have to.
You can come up with theories and explanations for things quickly. This can be applied in many different ways, such as science, or social matters. You have a really good memory for details, even random irrelevant ones. You don't fully grasp the situation you are in though, and you tend to overthink things.
You can be self-critical. You sometimes doubt your own abilities and think, that you aren't good enough at what you do. You have a strong perfectionism, which can lead to boredom, when you have to do something repetitively.
You are a really good listener. You can understand others better, than they understand themselves. You can also easily come up with solutions to people's problems, if you really put your mind to it. You can also easily come up with explanations of things that don't directly affect you, but seem to fit best.
You might prefer things, that are peaceful or calm. You dislike violence and see it as a last resort. You don't like being in a chaotic environment, and you will try to find a way out of it. You hate having to do things, that go against your nature and will try to avoid such things at all costs. You are a realist and can sometimes see the black and white side of things.
The Power Of Introverted Listening
Introverted listening is a powerful ability. It's one of the few quiet ways to get information, that isn't actually asking and people often give you all sorts of valuable information this way. You can listen without actually speaking for long periods of time, which can be very hard for people to do. You don't find it as tiring either, so you are a great listener.
You have a natural gift of gleaning people's motivations and intentions. You can tell when someone is lying just by the tone of their voice, or even their body language. Most people are unaware of this ability, so it's a great weapon for keeping social standing. You can sense when someone is planning violence against you or watching you. You can't prevent it, but you can feel better prepared for it.
Introverted listening has other uses as well. In some cases it can reveal knowledge, that the listener doesn't actually have. For example, if someone wants information on a person they can't ask that person, they will often turn to you. You will generally know just from hearing about them what that person is like. This information comes to you without effort or strain.
You can also listen to see if something is possible or not. If someone tells you about a plan, you can test to see if the plan is possible within a set boundary. If the plan isn't workable within that boundary, you can tell the person that it isn't likely to work without giving too much away.
Finally, you can use introverted listening as a shield. If you are in a group, where everyone else is talking and you don't want to say anything, you can still participate by listening to everything being said. Later, you can go over what was said in more detail privately with the group. This shield can be cast over just you, or over a group of you.
The Power Of Introverted Questions
Introverted questions are a powerful tool as well. They can reveal information, that isn't directly spoken and can even be used to challenge assumptions. They can also reveal hidden assumptions and beliefs. However, they can also be dodgy. For example, "What do you think of me?". While this may sound like a general question, it isn't. It depends on the beliefs and assumptions of the person asking the question.
If you believe, they have an accurate understanding of who you are, then they may answer "I think you're a good friend". If you don't agree, they may answer "I think you're a mean friend who doesn't talk to me". The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, but it depends on the balance of power between you and the person answering. Introverted questions can be used to try and get more information out of someone. Questions can also be used in more direct ways. This is a very powerful way to get information. If the person answering starts talking, they are going to be talking about what you want to hear. Usually. The tricky part is knowing when to stop them.
Emotional Intelligence Of An Introvert
Introverts process their internal world through thinking. As a result, they make better thinkers. That's not to say, that extroverts aren't good at thinking, but for some reason they're wired differently. While introverts have their own strengths, they're less able to keep up on the fast pace, that our society is growing both figuratively and literally. This is one of the reasons why introverts get pushed into leadership roles in society and are given so many responsibilities.
Introverts look at things from a logical perspective. To them, this seems to make sense. Of course, it's logical for people to pressure you for more and more responsibility. After all, if you have it, you're not likely to voluntarily give it up. It's how you've trained yourself to respond. Your natural response will be to decline, but they keep pushing and eventually you'll say "Well... I suppose I can manage that!"
It's important to keep in mind, that sometimes you need to step back. This is a difficult challenge, because they've already invested so much into the situation. They've set themselves up with a career or perhaps even a position of leadership. They're used to giving orders, so it feels unnatural to them to not give them. However, their logical minds see, that it's best to have you around if only to protect you.
They might even be right. There's no way for you to know how many people could be against you. That being said, introverts can sometimes have a tendency of overthinking things. Sometimes, when they're alone, they reflect on everything and wonder if they could have done something different. This can cause them to get paralyzed by fear of making a mistake.
Of course, introverts are not the only ones with fears. They are, however, more likely than extroverts to have them. Fears of making mistakes, not being good enough, and not living up to standards. Extroverts, on the whole, do not have these fears as much, because they are socialized to not think about such things. They are taught, that they need to be 'on' at all times.
Relate so much. As an introvert I have my time that I don't want to interact with others just because I think it's pointless and not because I'm shy
