How Music Has Changed Over The Decades And Where Could It Go From Here

Music in the 20th century was complex and became simple in the 21st century. Changes in music were due to globalization, the popularity of TV and radio, and technology. Because of these media, music had become available for an even wider audience all over the world. The music industry has become a huge business and "mass production" started to emerge.

As more and more ears were open to music the demand started to grow. Modern music and more new genres were born and became available for the masses. Quantity overcame quality and compared to old style music in the 20th century, modern music were rather easier to digest. Complexity and deep meaning in lyrics faded away. Simplicity became in the spotlight in regards rhythms, melodies and lyrics.

Electronic Music As A New Change

The 21st century brought about another change in music. It's becoming increasingly popular to listen to electronic music. Electronic music is a genre, that combines elements from many different musical styles. It can be described as a combination of various genres such as House, Techno, Trance and so on. This genre has been growing steadily since its inception in the 80s. Its popularity has increased greatly, because it's "easy to make" and people are willing to pay money for it.

There's no clear start and end to electronic music, because it tends to blend in with other popular genres. It has been said, that the future of music will sound more like electronic music. Popular electronic artists such as Deadmau5, Daft Punk, and Skrillex have been wildly popular with the masses despite the fact, that their music doesn't focus on music in its purest form. There's been a clear move away from music, that requires any sort of talent and toward music, that can be mindless but catchy.

How The Future Of Music Might Sound

In the years to come, it is expected that more and more people will become hooked on this type of music. It has already been predicted that in the future, popular music is going to be nothing more, than a series of sounds and noises to pour into a computer and create an incredibly life like vocalist, that will sing at you. Once this happens, the future of recorded music will likely be at a close.

As technology continues to advance in the future, it is likely that music will become even more indistinguishable from reality. The latest developments in virtual and augmented reality mean, that live concerts may become a thing of the past, as the boundary between performer and audience becomes blurred. This could mean, that when you go to a concert in the future, you will be in the middle of an incredibly life like virtual video world, rather than a live concert. This is just one of the many possibilities that lie ahead for the future of music.

A.I. And Music

The kind of music you listen to and like, will likely become less of a factor in the future. Artificial intelligence is currently in development that will be able to write, compose and produce entire albums for you. This technology is still a long way off, but once they are perfected, they will likely become common in the future.

This technology could very well give an unfair advantage to the rich and famous. Creating music takes talent, hard work and training. On the other hand, anyone could buy and download music easily, and this would be just as easy for the less talented or well off. This would potentially give the well off (who are more likely to have the money to invest in this technology) better access to better quality music than the poor, who can't afford it.

The gap in quality between songs produced by a human and those produced by newfangled machine is not yet to be compared. However, as artificial intelligence is refined, the difference will likely become narrower. The best way to find out how you will be fairing in the new music economy is to give the technology a try.

The Future Of The Music Industry

The future of the music industry is one of the most speculative areas of futurism. This is for a number of reasons. One of the main factors is the way technology develops, which cannot be accurately predicted. Another factor is the social aspects of the industry. While it is possible to predict how advances such as the introduction of new recording equipment or the invention of the player itself will affect the industry, it is impossible to predict the effect, that changing fashion or social habits will have. Although it is impossible to give a specific future prediction, it is possible to give a likely general trend.

New technology is likely to gradually replace the human involvement in the industry, and as this happens it is likely, that production values and music genres will become more consistent. This means, that the "stars" of today will become the "names" of tomorrow. The idea, that any performer is going to have a hit album or single is almost certainly not going to be a factor. It is likely, that the production values of music will increase over time, but this is not a definite.

Does It Still Worth Starting A Music Career?

The short answer is YES. The long answer is a bit more complex. Technology is not your only concern. You must also consider the competition. The days of "hanging out" at a successful music career are long gone. Today, you can be a musician and maintain a successful career by either becoming a session musician for other acts or creating your own music and selling it online. To create and distribute your own music, you need the knowledge of a music creator software, even if you play your own instrument.

If you are considering creating your own songs, you will need to consider whether or not you want to pursue a career as a full time music creator. This means you should plan to create songs, that you can then sell (either on your own or through an online store). This can be a full time career in itself. Alternatively, you can choose to focus on playing other people's creations and focus on that aspect of your career (distributing/reselling). If you want to pursue a career as a full time musician, you should seriously consider whether or not you can truly dedicate yourself to a music career.

A One Person Band Online

As I mentioned above, that a music creator software allows you to create songs and entire albums either instrumental or with vocal if you can sing. This allows you to become a band. The one person band is for musicians, that want to be their own boss. This means that you write, compose and perform all of the music and lyrics by yourself. You don't even have to play any instruments as you can just select the instruments in the software, that you want to add to your songs and you are ready to compose.

This can be a successful career, if you are talented and determined. The success of a one person band can be measured in the amount of fans, that like your music. This factors usually dictates the amount of money you can make. The more albums you can sell, the more money you can make. To be successful in this career, you must put in a lot of time and effort.

You must constantly be writing and practicing. You don't make much money unless you are successful in selling your music, which means you have to promote your band and sell your albums. You must also decide whether or not you want to become a full-time musician, quit your day job and focus on achieving success in this career.

Highly agree with your last part.. Music Industry is a cruel industry, if you're lucky enough, you'll survive. I have witnessed lots of groups and bands that did not make it even they work as hard than famous bands. It makes me sad.

Music career scares me, one you are an international super star and next day people have already moved on... However, musicians can be always happy if they create music for themselves instead for people's sake ... and I like Music, always listen to songs when I'm in kitchen or so, I always observed whenever I listen to music, I work quickly lol

To be honest, nothing can really beat the old music. For me, it has more sense, meaning and the melodies are just lovely. Even up until today, a lot of people can s recognize the old musics. They are golds.

I agree and roday's music is not original either. They often put ekements in their songs, that already exist. They use melodies, sounds and rhythms.

I know I have no future with singing career but I am good at listening music. From time to time as I listen to the produce music in the music industry I could tell the bug difference. The old music is what i love most for it's deep meaning, tune and beat. Music nowadays is not the same of yesterday, maybe this is the reason why it won't last long unlike the old music.

Yes back in the 80's and before that there was music. Music that was enjoyable to listen to. The good thing is, that fortunalely they are available for us today as well so we can still enjoy it.

I still really like the old music because the goosebump when you hear it until now hasn't changed anything, but the new music now only lasts 2 or 3 months and then it's gone. it hurts the ears or it's not nice to listen the lyrics are still obscene, it's just becoming popular because the others are in line with the "supposed" trend.

I agree with some part of what you said but to me the music industry is dead.

Firstly there is No real and sensible music ( most of music produce in these modern day really don't make sense )being produce by this upcoming artist

And second successful artist aren't making enough money to support them selves.

That's true, that there is no sensible music being made today. You know what I said in the 90's. I said I don't really like that music. I am an 80's music listener, but now I listen some 90's music too. I also like when the artist writes the music and lyrics not somebody else writes for them.
