The Love She Hated

Have you ever seen someone in love and the other person who is lived passionately, first pretended to love, playing the hide-and-seek, only to plan to abscond with another lover?

This was what Larry experienced and was never of the know, not even now until Rose told him all that she wanted to do to him.

Rose was a decent lady, from a good time, where she was thought manners and the need ro be god-fearing. This is how she lived her life until she passed the teenage age.

She first met Samuel in their year at the university and they became very close as friends then as lovers. Samuel loved Rose so very much and the two of them got along quite well.

After graduating from the university, Rose decided to continue her education for higher studies, telling Samuel she was not ready for marriage until after her master's degree. Rose pleaded with Samuel to wait for three more years but Samuel needed to settle down to marital life. With this, he let go of Rose and married another woman.

It took another two years for Rose to give in to another man. She met Patty when she was making research in her thesis at the college of post-graduate study at the university. He was as calm as a dove. Since Samuel left, no man had caught her attention like Patty.

Rose wasn't comprehending the method for calculating the ungrouped data in her final measurement of the research instrument. So, since Patty was using the same model, Rose approached him to put her through which he did without hesitation.

One thing led to another and Rose got into loving Patty. It was a perfect match and they were just on the verge of completing their higher degree program. You can call that the right timing.

Sooner than one can imagine, Patty came to know Rose's family where he was introduced as my man. Things got better as the official traditional introduction for their marriage was set.

Two weeks before their introduction, Patty traveled out of the country without telling anyone, not even his parents. For him, Nigeria was not the place where you can make ends meet easily. All these had been planned all along. He was just playing a card game with the two ideals, marriage and traveling. The night before he boarded, Patty scribbled an SMS to Rose.

Hi baby. Please, do not hold anything against me. I am of the God-forsaken land. I may not be able to satisfy all my promises. Kindly move on with life and find a man who will stay close to you, always.

Patty.

The SMS was delivered to Rose's phone when she was busy preparing the last meal of the day in the kitchen. So, after serving the whole family and eating her dinner, Rose retired to her bed space with her phone and found the message from Patty. It was one of her most devastating nights.

Patty's flight had already taken off when Rose read the message. She tried calling but his phone was switched off.

Why would Patty just leave me like that despite all that we have shared? The promises I made and the great future we hope to get.

Days have turned into weeks, and weeks into months, for over two years now, Patty did not look back.

Many factors were put into consideration by Rose after two years of losing hope in love. As a lady, she desired to get married and to a man that will compliment her before she turns thirty. Now she is twenty-nine years old and marriage or love has her some life lessons.

To console herself and to forget all these disappointments, Rose decides to join her church choir. She became prominent in a short time for her unique voice. It was in the choir that a young medical doctor started the move to get her into a relationship. Dr. Danny had first made compliments to her after a church service where he told her how beautifully she sang.

Everything started working out for them. Rose was happy that a young handsome man found her. It was a new beginning for her but sometimes she would just flashback and remember how Samuel and Patty had treated her.

Probably she could not find herself forgiving her ex-boyfriends and this took a toll on her. Rose had finalized to elope from home because her love does not look real anymore.

Dr. Danny find all means possible to find out why she was always off and on in their relationship, yet Rose would never condescend to sharing any of her.oast experience with Danny.

One day, she made to her mind that she was going to relocate to another vicinity where she would start a new life.

As she packed her load secretly when I one was around, Dr. Danny came around. He never knew of her plans, he just wanted to surprise her. Immediately, he saw how beautiful and adorable Rose looks. Straight on his knees, he went, with a ring in his hand:

Rose, please marry me.

She began to sob. Why would he come around now that she is set to make this move? Rose stood there looking at Danny.

It was a moment of decision.

She left her back on the ground and walked towards Danny and hugged him very tight after saying YES.

Their wedding took over the social media platform. It was such a huge one that bloggers talking for God-knows how long.
