A good man with a good heart is meant to come across people of good heart too but it's sometimes not like that in most cases. Being groomed for a better living does not really apply in the real world.
Anthony was born into a family where his parents are devoted Christians and brought him and his siblings according to the precepts of the Bible. Like every morning, before anything, the whole family members gathers at the living room for devotion. The session is started with praise and worship for few minutes before they study the word of God in the Bible. Usually, the songs are similar since the devotion is held in the morning. Songs like
¶In the morning, Early in the morning, in the morning, I will rise and praise the Lord.
¶Good morning Jesus, good morning Lord, I know you came from heaven above.....
¶ I will enter His gate with thanksgiving in my life, I will enter His court with praise, I will say this the day that Lord has made, I will rejoice for He has made me glad....
After the morning prayers everyone would start preparing for the day. The girls will take to the kitchen. While Ifeoma is cooking breakfast, Chioma is doing the dishes.
Meanwhile, the boys will wash daddy's car and sweep the small compound. All five children will them rush to finish up on their chores. Then the first will enter the bath to clean up. Anthony was always patience since he doesn't need go out.
Every Tuesday, all family members must be in church for Bible studies and on Thursday for prayer meeting. Sunday's are the best time to be in church because everyone will be in church and the praise and worship sessions are always spirit-filled.
While Anthony was preparing for admission in to the university to study civil engineering, he was lead ing coding and robotics in a computer centre somewhere in the city.
Having gained admission into the university of Lagos to study his choice course, Anthony wasted no time worshipping with the joint campus fellowship. He was quite active having being brought up that way. Nothing more attracts him than going for prayers.
Despite being spiritually inclined, Anthony was leading his faculty in CGPA. He was as calm as a dove. Lanky and handsome.
Niniola and other girls wanted to get close to him. As a free person, he didn't turn them down. He would give them tutorials to them for free. Mini usually payback with dinner. Anthony had first refused the meals but a first time taste made him realise how much he has missed rejecting earlier offers.
During their 2nd semester exams in 300 level. A particular course threatens every student but with Anthony, it was just a mere construction. So, Nini requested that Anthony takes her on a personal tutorial session before the exams. For the sake of their friendship, Anthony accepted.
The tutorial was held in Anthony's off-campus self-contained apartment. The Engineering Drawing exams have been postponed two weeks after exams have been concluded.
After dinner, as prepared by Nini, the tutorial session started. Three straight hours and Nini became almost as perfect Anthony in the course. Then she began to boast:
An "A" is certain in Engr 308!!!
While she was hoping and appreciating Anthony, she jumped on him in bed playfully as their eyes lust. Just the, there was power outage. Mini was quite an irresistible lady herself. She landed a deep wet kiss on Anthony's lips and he reciprocated.
Nini went a little further and Anthony's desire rose. She tore through his pyjamas, holding him down in the loin. Just then, Anthony remember his father's teaching on Samson and Delilah. He refuted Nini, pushed away softly to the other side and said:
We can't do this. It's not just right. I have grieved the holy spirit. Please, leave now.
She was so dazed that a man could turn her down having done that far, high in emotions.
She was so devastated. She begged him.
Anthony, please, just this once.
Am sorry. We shouldn't be doing this. I am not going to get down with you. Not now, not ever.
Nini left for her hostel that night with a heavy heart. She decided never to talk to Anthony ever again. And so it was until they graduated.
Another Delilah in the making. Thank God Anthony didn't give in or else, he would have to suffer for it and be disgraced. I think Nini want to take the advantage to bring him down but God didn't allow such to happen.
