Wojak And the Bogdanoffs - The Powerful Meme We Loved
You may have heard of Wojak! Perhaps you have seen the memes circulating the internet for a while. The Wojak meme is not a new one and wasn't crypto-related when it was created. Wojak is a Polish word that translates to fighter, and the meme originates in 2009 when it first appeared in a Polish forum called "vichan". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wojak Years later, it found a unique use-case within the cryptocurrency community, giving every trader some peace of mind since the message was clear. We are all Wojak! At least, the overwhelming number of cryptocurrency investors and traders have often felt the frustration of a price "dump" (a crash by 50% or higher) in just a matter of hours. Wojak meme expresses the emotions of all crypto traders, how we feel when entering crypto and how it turns out to be in reality. The Bogdanoff Twins became crypto celebrities after a leak of their devious plans for world domination and control of the planet's elite by manipulating the cryptocurrency market! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igor_and_Grichka_Bogdanoff
He Bought?
An interesting evolution occurred with the Wojak meme when a YouTuber (Bizonacci) combined it with another popular funny internet trend, the Bogdanoff twins. According to the scenario, the Bogdanoffs are dedicated to controlling the crypto markets as part of their plan for world domination. With their advanced brain process and extraordinary abilities, they manipulate the crypto markets and fulfill their wicked desires by listening to Wojak's screams after dumping on his portfolio! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61Q6wWu5ziY Bogdanoff Twins were famous in France since the 80s from the popular TV series (Temps X), and became worldwide celebrities as meme creators used their content in ways to associate them with various conspiracy theories, known as the Bogpill! (4chan).
***Must read****.* https://www.reddit.com/r/4chan/comments/5vhc2a/jenna_jameson_takes_the_bogpill/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W8rPVRcg2I Sadly, last week, both Igor and Grichka Bogdanoffs passed away due to complications from the covid virus. An unfortunate event since the world lost these two incredible entertainers. The internet world felt it lost something priceless with the passing of these two TV personalities, which started in France but became a world wide phenomenon. The link between Wojak and the Bogdanoffs was discovered by Bizonacci in 2018, right after the beginning of the previous bear market, when he released his first video on YouTube, "He Sold?". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRXdxiot5JM The success of this animated meme was related to how everyone (entering late) in crypto feels, any time we trade crypto with significant money, entering with hopes of making a fortune but instead we find it to be extremely difficult since we will almost always make the wrong decision (buy or sell). The fact that made this meme so popular in the crypto realm is the overwhelming number of traders that relate to Wojak in the sense Bizonacci recreated this meme.
In Conclusion: Activate Quantum Immortality! Sadly, we learned the dire news of both Bogdanoff twins passing away in just a week, that was something unexpected that nobody wished for. RIP Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff, their spirit will always remain on blockchain. Legends Never Die: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ozb-QpcTU2o From the first moment a new investor buys crypto, the plan is to invest for the long term. Yet, the extreme volatility turns everyone scared and most are selling their crypto assets at a loss, at the first dip they experience. See (@stoolpresidente) Dave Portnoy for example:
*twitter* https://twitter.com/stoolpresidente/status/1296862194689290241 The Wojak meme "He Bought" relates 100% to Dave Portnoy, but also to everyone entering Crypto for the first time, thinking they will immediately achieve life-changing wealth. Most newcomers will buy, usually thinking price will keep rising after they bought, and immediately panic sell at the first dip.
**(Image Description: Example of a real life Wojak)** It was never easy, though, since Bitcoin was often crashing to zero until 2012 and everyone was wondering in 2014 and 2018 where the bottom would be. 70-80% losses can certainly be expected, and this is the main reason everyone is advising to invest only money we don't care about losing, since it is highly likely most will be buying right at the top and suffer losses for a prolonged timeframe **until a new bull run begins**. Bitcoin-BTC is today a market product that has limited use cases as digital cash. It is selling the narrative of "store of value", yet it is mostly a speculative instrument. Investors with a different mindset will always support innovation and we watched how Ethereum outperformed BTC during this bull run. It is always entertaining to watch a new or an old Wojak video on YouTube. Bizoonacci was the content creator that started this, but, it is believed he passed away a couple of years ago (RIP if so). https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/oy0fvo/remember_bizonacci_the_guy_behind_the_infamous/ We have now successors that keep the legend of Wojak alive. Lol, I love the Wojak memes, especially the ones about working a day job (Mcdonalds) to earn money to start trading and then losing everything in a single trade. Personally, I don't think Wojak is a meme, because as you said, there are people who are like that, who expect the price to keep pumping when they buy, not realizing that the market doesn't work that way.
Man, back in 2017-2018 I was Wojak one and the same! When the first Wojak video was released I felt the resemblance!
Hehe, I am sure we were all Wojak at the beginning; I even thought the Bogdanoffs twins controlled the market, lol! "He Bought, Dump It," that sentence played in my mind almost every time.
Starting the year with losing two meme legends. Their memes are great entertainment when the market is crashing so tons of F are gonna be spammed for the loss of Bogdan Twins.
The Wojak meme actually applies to me, because I made some really crazy mistakes last year, did some weird trades and it all went down the drain.
You get used to it after a while. Sometimes we think there was a bottom and it keeps going down more.
Hahaha I just recently discovered wojak through the means of the wojak coin in smartbch 😅 it is sad to hear that the two of the brother died.
I have always seen the meme used most time but dont know the story behind this, but now I do, and the videos are really what most traders are facing, I'm still new to the crypto world but learning faster thanks to read.cash, and I can tell you for a face, I have had those wojak facial expression many times.
> I have had those wojak facial expression many times. Hahaha, same with me and probably everyone else! Don't worry, you are not alone!
I guess with more practice I should be able to do well
i must admit it feels a bit like I am on /r/woosh! This has totally past me by without me noticing any of it. Only thing I've heard about this is that those twins died, but never even made the connection. I was like "Who are they?" when news came by with the notice of their passing. So this article told me two things: 1: Check out them memes 2: I am paying far too little attention to all things crypto and I should remedy that, and certainly refrain from doing anything on the market as i obviously haven't got the full picture of it. Thanks!
The memes are amazing
Wojak meme is well dear, hahaha traders are very sad today because the value of BCH is decreased to much to 370$ and now meme especially be used.
This time your article made me laugh pantera. I just found out about this wojak meme. ha ha ha. Thanks pantera for making this article.
Greetings @Pantera, I have been impressed by the scope that a community can give to a meme, it is impressive, the loss of the Bogdanoffs brothers, I found out from your post, greetings.
As someone who have a whole album of memes in my phone, I find this really fun and eventually made me laugh a bit. Heck I didn't even know that my album is composed of 50% wojak memes until I carefully checked it out. I didn't even know they were called wojak memes at all until I've read this article. *Facepalms*
Hahaha! Memes in crypto are usually very funny. They get better as prices keep rising.
Yuppp! Good content, I just subscribed!
Bogdanoff twins actually enjoyed memes about them and found them quite funny! Outside of meme culture, they seemed to be loved in France where they had their own science show and were quite popular personalities in their own right. Rest in Peace Igor and Grichka.
