Odie, Our Boss Dog Most of you probably know that I own 4 dogs and 14 cats, and I am a pet lover, animal lover, whatever you want to call me, feel free. In the past few days, I have read @Jeaneth and @Hanzell's articles flexing their furbabies, so I decided to flex mine as well. But I'll be focusing on Odie in this article because I remember that I have written an article about my pets before, so this time, the spotlight is on Odie, our maltese x minipinscher. Before we had Odie, we had Princess. She's a dog given to us by my husband's friend. She's just a local dog but looks like a Japanese Spitz. She had been with us for 6 years. But when we went to Manila for a vacation, we left Princess at our friend's house, thinking that he would look after our princess. But we found out that the princess died because, according to him, she was poisoned. We were so heartbroken, especially my husband, because Princess is closer to him than anyone in the house. After a few months, we decided to adopt a dog, but then we could not find someone who had a puppy to share. So I decided to look for a dog on Facebook, and I saw a post from someone who also resides in Capiz, saying that her puppies are up for sale. After seeing the photo of Odie, we instantly fell in love with him. He is so cute and tiny. So my daughter keeps on bugging me to buy Odie. The price started at 4,500 pesos, but after thorough negotiation, we got it for 3,500 pesos.
This is Odie on his first night in our house. He was only 1 and a half months old when we had him. Isn't he cute and tiny? We were so worried at first because he would just lie down and be quiet. I kept on messaging the seller that Odie might be sick, but she told me that it's namamahay lang. And she was right, because after a few more days, Odie became so playful and wanted to be cuddled constantly.
We made sure that he had his vaccine on time and was being dewormed to avoid him getting sick because, as far as I know, dogs that have "breed" easily get sicker than our local dogs. But no matter how careful we were, he still got sick. It was our annual Brgy fiesta. I prepared a little because my daughter and husband invited their friends. And they were petting Odie and giving him something to eat. Later that night, he began to vomit and would not eat his food. His poop was watery. I brought him to the vet clinic the next morning, just a short walking distance away from our house. The vet told us that he got diarrhea and told him not to feed him anything except his dog food. After a few days of taking his meds, he was back to his old self again, playful as ever.
The second time that he got sick was when he got allergies due to constant eating of chicken meat, especially chicken head. It was his favorite. But after spending a few hundred pesos, he was back to his old self again.
Odie just turned 4 years old on January 4, and he was our oldest dog among the four. He was also our boss dog. He gets everything that he wants: a spot to sleep on, his favorite food, and even a spot on our bed.
Closing Thought Owning a dog is like tending to your own child. You have to make sure that they are well-fed, always clean and showered with love. We have to be a responsible pet owner, always.... -- Date Published: March 15, 2022 All photos are mine unless stated otherwise

Nayy!!😍😍😍 Ang cute cute cute cute.... Tama ka sis, ako nga eh, para ko nang kapatid yung alaga ko'ng aso. As for my parents, they treated Iking as their child too.
Daat talaga ganun sis kasi maikli lang naman ang buhay nila eh kaya dapat mahalin at alagaan
Oo nga sis eh. Kaya habang may time pa, let's give them the love and care that they deserve. Iniisip ko pa lang na short lang yung life span nila, di ko talaga mapiligan na maiyak..
Heheh, ganyan din ako sis..
Hello, cute Odie! Indeed we should be responsible pet owners and any breed should be treated equally. Minsan kasi binabalewala mga askal e.
Exactly.. Ako I have 4 dogs, 3 un askal pero equally loved sila. Kung anong meron ang isa ganun din ang 3. Lahat bakunado din par asafe ang dogs pati din kami.. Un iba kasi eh sasabihin na pet lover pero ang m gusto lang eh un may. Mga breed.
