Splinterdragons battle challenge - Burning the roots of all evil
Whenever you are bored ... go with dragons! This seams to be the most common weekly battle challenge on Splinterlands. Went for Djini themed battles, Daenerys links and even the World of Warcraft mighty Bronze Dragonflight... so what I can do differently this time?
Are you still accepting Game of Thrones stuff? As another annoying dragon is ready to splash sand, fire and blood! Not sure how many times before I done the challenge but feels like a good day for dragon power!
The choice is simplified by my army of dragons, only one summoner and five scary monsters. The Drake of Arnak is the only choice, and Djinn Chwala the pillar of my team.
Djinn Chwala is one of the most powerful cards in my deck. This reward monster has the stats to be the perfect tank, with 9 Health Points, 5 Armor, 2 melee damage, 2 speed and Roots ability on top. It will gain Enrage at level 4 and True Strikes at level 6.
The first lore mentions about Djinns are written in the "Down of the Djinn", telling the world that even after they were released, they were seeing the elemental captivity as a blessing rather than a curse. They will always come together to fight in Praetoria, as part of the last lines of defense against the Chaos Legion.
Battle 1 - Champion Chwala chewing fish fingers! Normal battle rules with only 14 mana cap means a low selection pool for this fight. Let's get the dragons roam free across the Splinterlands.
Summoner: Drake of Arnak:+1 Armor
Djinn Chwala: Main Tank with Roots
Ant Miners - Off-Tank with Scavenger
Scorch Fiend- Legendary Punching Bag
This looks like that kind of battle that can go both ways, as the opponent chose a smart tactic. He set the Hardy Stonefish to get the punches, and protected the Deeplurker with the Chaos Agent.
As expected, the first round was all about grinding the armor. The Hardy Stonefish was a tasty fishfinger for my dragon, while the Ants scavenged the remains.
It took a while, but after five rounds the strongest monster on the battlefield are face to face! The fiend has burned out and the Ant Miners survived the Deeplurker vicious bites! It's time for Fish and Chips!
The thrones inflicted deadly damage and feels poetic that both the Deeplurker and the Djinn collapsed after the same attack. It's a nano fight between the pixies and ants! See the full battle here!
Battle 2 - Are Water Dragons fat eels? This game had 99 mana cap and no fancy battle rules. Going full strength on this one, with Drake and Chwala as base cards.
Summoner: Drake of Arnak:+1 Armor
Djinn Chwala: Main Tank with Roots
Flying Squid: Off-Tank with Reach
Djinn Oshannus: Caster with Void
Deeplurker: Melee with Opportunity
Sand Worm: Melee with Sneak
Axemaster: Ranged with Double Strike
Fat eels versus fat eels, as the opponent played with Water Splinter as well. My team looked stronger from the beginning and his Disintegrator was the first monster to fall in battle, crushed by the Djinn scaly roots!
If it was boxing, I won the first round, then nearly a technical KO after three rounds. Roots damage ... roots damage ... and even more roots damage. The brave Djinn protected well his army, until finally was over-powered by another Djinn. Delivered some roots damage with her last breath!
Deeplurkers again? Fish fingers again? Djinn Oshannu was the last djinn standing, all alone against mu army. The Sand Worm finished the task and delivered the final blow. GAME OVER! See the full battle here!
Battle 2 -Undead Dragons! Death Dragons, Bone Dragons, Ghost Dragons? Have you played Heroes 3? Add some Roots to an army of Death and chaos is completed. Normal battle rules and 26 mana cap made me chose more roots!
Summoner: Drake of Arnak:+1 Armor to friendly monsters
Djinn Chwala: Main Tank with Roots
Cursed Windeku: Second Tank with Roots
Life Sapper: Caster with Life Leech
Silent Sha-Vi - Melee with Sneak
Deeplurker again and a dodgy Serpent of Eld, backed up with heals and armor recovery ... Game On! It took three rounds for the "first blood" as my Life Sapper sarcastically fail to leech life!
Deeplurkers fish fingers anyone? Freshly prepared in round five! However, the Serpent of Eld was a hard nut to crack. The slimy creature kept healing, dodging and getting the armor up. With the last breath ... Djinn Chwala delivered his last roots damage!
The Cursed Windeku spring to action, with extra roots damage. The Silent Sha-vi simplified the battle by silently taking down the Scavo Hireling. By now it's just a matter of time until the Serpent of Eld will fail.
After 9 rounds of struggle the Serpent is down, being hit by the roots of a dying Windeku. Another poetic double causality. Time to claim the win!
It wasn't a walk in the park as the Guardian kept healing and healing. Finally, after 21 rounds and few fatigue damage... it happened. See the full battle here!
