Why are only 10% of people lefty? How does science understand?

Are you Left-Hander? If not, have you ever noticed why your family, friends or acquaintances rarely use the left hand as a priority? Truely speaking, the average left-hander is very low, i.e. only 1 in 10 people do so.

Why is a person lefty? Why are the number of lefty people so low? To answer such questions, scientists are studying a variety of theories, many of which are interesting. It is being said that the studies that have been going on in this regard for the last one century, also reveal a theory of Genetic Influence.

Since the average number of left-handed people around the world is low in every area, genetic theory is given prominence. Here are some interesting and informative aspects of answering questions about being a lefty.

Which side of the body is stronger?

Experts say that if you kick a ball regularly, you will know that there is an incontinence all over the body. Not only in the legs but also in the eyes, ears and even the brain. Expert also explains that if you raise your thumb at the length of your hand and look first with one eye and then with the other, the eye with which you see your thumb is better.

Similarly, if you move your phone naturally towards one ear, it means that your ear functions better. But, how do we understand from this theory that lefty and right people are not born equal in the world?

How is the righty community dominating?

Some scholars believe that since man has been accustomed to living in a society for many centuries, where right-handed people have been in large numbers and dominated. In other words, when more people use the right hand to work or use a variety of tools, the breeds that follow the theory of simulation continue to learn in the same way.

What is the theory of two parts of the brain?

Some scholars believe that since the brain is divided into two poles, which part is more active in which person determines which part of a person's body will be stronger or better active. According to this theory, the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body and the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body.

This means that if the left side of your brain is used more, you are more likely to be right-handed.

What is the theory of genetics?

An interesting theory about the shortcomings of lefty people is that of genetics. According to this theory, for the first time in history, such a genetic mutation took place in the language center of the human brain, causing the left side of the brain to become more active, leading to an increase in the number of right people.

This theory has not been proven so far as it does not answer some questions. For example, if this is the case then the children of the lefty parents should also be lefty, but this does not necessarily happen. Research is ongoing into which genes increase or decrease the likelihood of lefty.

Is there any other theory?

There are many theories as there is constant research. According to another theory, the level of estrogen and how it is born can also determine this. Aside from science, a social science theory states that in many traditions and cultures, since the use of the left hand was considered taboo or bad, many people who were born lefties became right due to social pressure.

All in all, science has not yet determined whether a person is lefty or right, so what are the biological processes involved. Hopefully science will answer this soon and it will also be known how some people use both hands equally.

I have been told that our body instictively uses the extremity which is bigger. This could explain why I'm right-handed but I use my left foot more, which is also bigger than my right foot. I also use my left hand for many things.

I'm a lefty so I will state the things I've learned about this based on my experience.

I used to have a nanny who was left-handed. She took care of me when I was 1 year old to 3 years old. My nephew also had a nanny who's left-handed. Same thing, he's become a lefty too.

So I would say, it is based on the influence and environment you have. Our grandmother forced us to use our right hands because the left is associated with evil, but it didn't work out as we are more comfortable using our left hands.

In my observation being lefty is genetic since I have a friend who is lefty and the child is lefty also. My brother is the only lefty in the family but it was told by the olds that one of our late grandparents are lefty whom he inherited. Pressuring the lefty person to be right handed I think is not good. why change, it is his comfort zone, being at ease of what he loves to do. They say a left handed person are more stronger than the right handed one so, it has its advantage. What God has created it has a purpose.

In my country, left-handedness was considered a mistake, a disadvantage, so left-handed children were trained and reshaped to become right-handed.

In my village only one persons used his left hand. Rest of all right used their left hand. Yes the it is occurs because of genetic issues. Good topic brother and thanks for writing about it.
