Recovery.
God won't answer you based on what you have asked but based on your capacity. This is why it's important for us to build capacity while waiting for our prayers to be answered because when you asked for what you can't handle, God won't allow it to crush you by giving those things to you. Life is given to you as a sign of hope because whatever you have lost you still have time to recover them.
Five steps to recovery.
1. Self Awareness:
When you lose your identity, you live like a nonentity just like the prodigal son. No matter how much someone wants to help you, as long as you lack self-awareness, that help would amount to nothing. We need to take our place in destiny. The knowledge of who you are engenders the recovery of what is yours. The Bible made us understand that the prodigal son came to his senses. He knew who he was and it's in sharp reality to how he was living. Even his father's servants lived better. He came to this self-awareness which helped him to make a better choice.
2. Strategic Planning:
Recovery takes a plan. Anywhere there is stress it is sometimes an indication of a lack of planning. The prodigal son said I will get up and go. A desire to change is the first step toward change. Rehearse the change you desire because it is the key to maximizing opportunities. The prodigal son hadn't gotten up and yet he said he would get up and go. Plan and rehearse the reality you want to experience. Don't wait for you to get to the palace because there is a rehearsal for the throne.
You don't prepare for battle on the day of battle because that's a recipe for mockery. You prepare for battle on the day of peace. You are going for an interview, rehearse. Whatever you want to do, plan ahead.
3. Sincere Evaluation:
A sincere analysis must be void of pretence, deceit and hypocrisy. We need to be able to tell ourselves the truth. The prodigal son faced the brutal fact and told himself the truth. He said he is no longer fit. He knew he has messed up. That realization can make you face the reality and know the steps to take to better yourself and recover all you have lost. If you are heading in the wrong direction, your brutal fact must be to stop and make a U-turn. Deceit is bad but self-deceit is worse.
4. Effort:
Don't just desire it, actually do it. The prodigal son said he will get up and go...he got up and went. A lot of us have made promises we didn't keep. We have the desire but lacked the efforts needed to see it through. We have a part to play, we need to make substantial efforts to the desires we have. Respond to the demands of change in order to embrace the desired future.
Any imagination that lacks tangibility will end in futility. You can't just keep wishing without taking steps. You want prosperity yet you are not making steps. You don't apply for jobs, take on jobs or sell yourself in the area of your desired growth. What you desire shouldn't just be about wishful thinking but you need to make efforts.
The true measure of wealth isn't about the phones you use or the car you use or drive...the true measure of it is, if you stop working, how long can what you have sustained you?
5. Sustainable Attitude:
The Bible told us that he was a long way from home. He began that thought and kept at it. He stayed through till he actualized his imagination. Refuse the provocation to quit. Remain determined regardless of what shows up. It's true what they say, quitters don't win and winners don't quit...they stay at it...no matter how long it takes and how stressful the journey is.
Thank you for your time.
