What is success? According to Oxford Dictionary, success is the accomplishment of an aim or a purpose.

We all have different aims in life; that means we all have different purposes in life. What is important to me might not be important to you? What I tag as success might not mean anything to another person and this is why I have never been critical of anyone who chooses to celebrate a landmark - whatever thing it means to them because they understand their journey better and it is wrong to downplay what another person tag as an achievement.

Success is relative and it means so many things to so many people and rightly so, given our varying backgrounds and exposure. Someone posted on Instagram I think a few months ago pictures of himself in the United Kingdom and someone said he should calm down and keep a low profile. Success gains attention and success cannot be hidden. To the young man who found himself in the U.K, you can't fault him for being super excited because you have no idea what his story is all about. Do you know if that was his first time ever to travel out? Do you even know if no one in his family or lineage ever crossed the shores of Nigeria even into another African country? There is no right or wrong in this matter and if that is success to that young man, by all means, rejoice with him and if you cannot, oh please, move on.

We all have our definition of what success is. We feel fulfilled when we set our minds on something and at the end of the day, God helped us to achieve that goal. Why shouldn't anyone be excited? I appreciate every little thing. I celebrate even the smallest of things no one would even think of. I love being grateful and I love celebrating landmarks.

The peak of your achievement would always be the start of another. What you tag as success now might be another person's past glory and that doesn't make yours more valid or theirs of less worth. Success means differently to us and we should stop being angry when we see others celebrate what we won't celebrate or what we see as obsolete.

I know a lot of people who see marriage as a success. It is another phase of their lives and they are excited about what is to come. I also know people who are not thrilled about it, either because they were once married or for the stories they have heard or things they have seen, they are not so keen about it and no one can also fault them. We all have different agendas and a perfect picture of how we want our lives to be henceforth after our past experiences.

I knew how I celebrated early in the year for having a million naira (Nigerian currency) worth of crypto portfolio (different coins) before the market crash and I achieved that in under three months all across my blogs and I hadn't even come back to read.cash yet. I showed a few of my friends and they were genuinely excited for me. I was more thrilled because I was out of a job and for me to achieve that, it was remarkable for me and I didn't even achieve this feat when I was working. It takes people who understand my story to be genuinely happy for me. I knew how my friends were inspired to start their crypto journey too and also join some of the blogs I joined. I was more than happy to guide them through the process and that is life.

To others, finding love is a success. You only need to hear their stories of heartbreak and no luck when it comes to love for you to understand how excited such people can be when they finally find their true love. To others, it could even be gaining admission into the university while to others, it might be graduating from the university - this buttress the earlier point mentioned that someone's peak might be another person's 'past celebrated success'.

Definitely, what success means to me cuts across many things, really and just like the guy that travelled out of the country for the first time in his life, I would celebrate as much as he did too, if not more. Yes, to me, leaving the shores of Nigeria into Europe is definitely going to be a success to me. I still countdown to that day and I would be absolutely thrilled when it happens. My late dad travelled, of course, but none of my siblings ever did. It's not the first in my lineage but it would be the first between my brothers and me, so why won't I celebrate and see it as a success or why won't they see it as a success if they achieved it first?

When I can improve on an earlier failed attempt, I see it as a success. When I handle a situation better than the last time I did, I see it as a success. The continual drive to be better is a success for me. When I can achieve so much more in a day than I did the previous one, I see it as a success. When I make a post and I check the upvotes I receive on it, I see it as a success because to me, I don't ever want any day to pass by without earning something, no matter how little it might be. I am always excited to see the numbers rising on my posts even on other blog sites that I post different content on. To me, that's success and a day well earned hahaha.

Giving and helping people is a success to me. When someone goes to bed thankful to God for coming in contact with me that day, that's a success to me. Seeing others get better and telling me I have a part to play in that success is also a success for me and I don't take it for granted. Being the reason why someone smiles - that's a success.

I got a poem yesterday from a lady I met a few months back. She is around 18 years of age and she is way more mature than her age. She wrote me a lovely poem and it made me smile. I couldn't help but smile and share it on my wall because of how much emotions she put into it and I feel blessed. I see that as a success and a perfect end to an awesome day.

Here is a screenshot of the poem she sent to me. I love it.

Thank you for your time.

Such a lovely poem indeed. It is a success for someone to write a poem for you. And as for me, even if I traveled to Abuja, it would be a success to me because I haven't been there before. Why won't I rejoice over it? Every little milestone we reach is a success no matter what people say.

You have spoken well, the world success can display a different meaning to other people, the way I see mine might be different from yours.

As for me I could each of my achievement as a success, no achievement is to small , it might be nothing to you but a great something to me. But I must say that each achievement worth to be celebrated.

There's something some people don't understand , if you celebrate the little one you achieve today, greater one's will be coming your way.

What you've said here echoes, because it is the truth. Each of us view success differently and we must not judge another celebrating theirs. I love all your truths here!

And reading the poem at the end of it kind of made me proud of you❣ You're a beautiful soul and may the Good Heavens bless you more :)
