Proverb 18:21 says death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]. You can either use your tongue to speak life or death, you can either use your tongue to encourage and build others or use it to kill them, the choice is yours but always use your tongue wisely. Words are powerful and they don’t go away easily especially the hurting ones we say to other. You can say a word of affirmation to your friend, siblings or spouse they will surely appreciate it and forget in the long-run but immediately you switch to the hurting word; they hurt, sting, remain and define. We all tend to forget a word of kindness said to us but the hurting and damaging ones remain and stick to our brain.
The powers of word that influence us show our weakness. Whether we take it serious or not the tongue hold great power and we were taught in the bible about it and the proper way to use it. Do you know your tongue reflect your mind; a stinging and hostile word comes from a stinging and hostile mind. Do you also know you will give account for every word that comes out of your mouth? Yes you will; that piercing words you say to your friends and colleagues, those filthy remarks about people around you and that hostile word you said to someone you met briefly instead of you to use your tongue to encourage and influence them towards heaven you are pushing them to the other side.
Words are jars; they have in them the ability to lead, direct, teach, bring joy and peace, bring love and care. They are also jars that can kill, destroy, reduce, mislead, demolish. So therefore, the jars that proceed from your mouth have the power to lift and encourage a life and also have the power to demolish it. Most time, we forgot how careless we can be when it comes to our choice of words the power words that encourage us or bring us down.
Words have repercussion; the words we speak can either make or mar us, they can either build us up or bring us down, words have repercussion in this life, there is no any other rationale rather than to watch what comes out of your mouth as God is watching and listening. Therefore speak in love, listen more, be slow to speak, speak the truth always and use healthy words.
What kind of words do you speak to your life? Your tongue can encourage or forbid God’s blessing over your life. When you are lost in the challenges of life never speak ill or negative words to yourself because these words are self-fulfilling prediction. Stop delaying your greatness with negative words, whatever you speak to your life, you will reap it.
Always remember your tongue is the most powerful organ in your body- whatever you say can either give you life or death, however you can provoke God’s blessing by speaking life to that situation or you can use the same tongue to affirm negativity over your life. Speaking life simply means you are affirming the result that God has already promise and given to you i.e. those greatness and success you desire in life.
If you desire changes in any area of your life guess what your tongue is the best option to use to bring that desired outcome. Look for words in the bible that speaks to that issue or issues you are facing, read and meditate on it and say it loud everyday so as to be part of your daily routine and surely you will see the outcome.
