When does life start? This question is asked frequently, and it seems to have several answers, but what is the correct answer?
Some say life starts at 30, others say 40, while a few of us say 25; well, I think it depends on the individual and how they want to grow.
For me, if I were to answer this question, I would say life starts at the age of eighteen or when you finish high school, and you might be wondering why I picked eighteen.
Eighteen is a great age to start planning for the future, because you don't have to worry about so many responsibilities, at eighteen you are probably still living with your parents, and you don't have to pay many bills.
What better time to plan for the future than when you have little or no responsibilities?
Sure, you may have college and all that, but young people tend to make one mistake, they depend heavily on their college degrees, causing them to have tunnel vision when it comes to achieving success.
Having a college degree is good, and all, but that degree may not even help you; I have seen so many people with lots of educational achievements, but they are not living the life you think they should be living.
People keep chasing degrees till they are 30, hoping that it will help them achieve the life they always wanted, and sometimes it does, but it only happens to a few people.
I am not downgrading a college degree, but we should also think of other paths to living well instead of chasing something that would increase our debts and stress levels, only to fail in the end.
I finished high school a while ago, and to tell you the truth, I am pleased I found this platform because it has shown me that making money isn't easy and hard work genuinely matters.
I shared my story on how I began readcash in a previous article; when I started, I didn't know what to do, and rusty didn't seem to be visiting my articles.
The account was active for a month, but it only had 14 subscribers, of which eight were me, and 6 were my family.
I wanted to give up at that point, but I asked myself.
"If you give up now, you would be wasting your life either way, why not keep on writing, and this time ask for help."
My friends in school insulted and mocked me because I had not made any money in three weeks of writing.
I was discouraged, I won't lie, but I knew that money comes from hard work and dedication, and I would eventually reap my writing benefits. It paid off since I am writing this article right now.
When I look at my friends now, all I see them do is play games, talk about girls, and socialize.
I am not saying this isn't good, and they are only enjoying their youth, but wasting your youth on things like that would not help you in the long run.
Nowadays, many young people waste their time on social media, and with so many social media billionaires, we will only see the number of social media addicts grow.
Sooner or later, when they reach 30 or 40, they will wonder what went wrong in their lives, and they start blaming everyone around them but remember, when you point at someone, three fingers are pointing back at you.
Don't blame others when you refuse to use the opportunities you had when you were younger.
In your youth, you are allowed to make mistakes because you have time to correct them, but when you are older, you may not have the same energy you had when you were younger.
I would recommend planning for the future at an early age, but that doesn't mean if you didn't start at eighteen, you won't make it in life; some billionaires and significant people in society made their wealth in their 40s even 70s.
I am writing this article to tell young people never to let life pass them by; we should always plan our lives to be in control, no matter what happens to us.
Have dreams and goals you want to achieve because they will push you to become a better person.
"A dream can make a person feel alive, or it can kill them instead.
But to exist, just because one's been born, is the sort of notion that I hate, I can't stand it." - Anonymous."
Thank you for reading! Have a productive day ahead!
For me, life started when you have your own responsibility. That'll make a different perspective in our point of view about life and struggles. If you have a dream, work for it and yes, never give up! You can do it. ~Manju
