Human beings are naturally social creatures and it's part of our DNA. As we spend more and more time by ourselves, we begin to feel incomplete and unfulfilled. The human brain needs human interaction in order to thrive and develop in a healthy manner. When you're alone too much, your mind becomes stagnant and the results can be devastating for mental health. Let's take a look at some of the horrible things about spending too much time by yourself.
You don't grow as a person
A strong, confident individual needs to know how to be by themself. They need to know how to make their own decisions and take care of their responsibilities without relying on someone else for help. Over time, if you find yourself constantly leaning on others for your personal happiness and self esteem, you'll lose these abilities and it could cause increased depression or anxiety later in life.
It's important that we spend at least some time alone every day in order to maintain our sanity and become well rounded people. However too much time alone will not allow us the chance to improve ourselves and become stronger individuals.
You begin believing your own lies
People who are alone too often begin telling themselves little lies that help them to feel a sense of purpose or value. They may come up with elaborate stories about their lives in order to make themselves seem more interesting than they actually are. This can lead them down dangerous paths like drug addiction, alcoholism, and depression. Many times people don't even realize these lies until someone tells them and by then it's too late.
It's important to take responsibility for your actions and not pin the blame on others when things go wrong in life. If you spend too much time alone, you may find yourself turning against loved ones simply because they don't always agree with you or support your every decision without question. You need to be able to stand up for yourself and defend what you believe in if somebody challenges you.
You begin to hate yourself
People who are alone often find themselves hating their own company. They feel as though nobody loves them and that they're all alone in the world, even when surrounded by friends and family. Of course we all have those feelings from time to time but if you live alone for too long or spend too much time without human interaction, it can lead to an increased sense of self loathing and hatred towards the world around you. It's important to surround yourself with positive people and maintain healthy relationships so that you can stay balanced and happy.
You become socially awkward
When somebody is alone too much, they tend to focus on themselves too much rather than others. Their interactions become restricted to a few close friends or family members which can cause them to become even more socially awkward than they were before. They find themselves avoiding other people in social situations and don't take part in group activities, making them self conscious about their interactions with others.
This is very dangerous because if somebody becomes anti-social for too long, it could lead to increased anxiety or complete withdrawal from society all together.
You begin behaving like an animal
People who spend too much time by themselves often begin acting like animals. They start eating crap food, become unable to control themselves when it comes to sex. Many of the behaviors that we rely on our basic survival instincts for are dulled spending too much time alone.
These people often lose a grip on what's socially acceptable and what isn't, making them difficult to be around.
This is one example of why people who spend too much time alone tend to find themselves in dangerous situations. Their social skills are severely diminished and they don't know how to behave or react properly when faced with certain circumstances. This can lead them down dark paths where only more trouble lies ahead. They have nobody there to support them or protect them from harm.
