Thank a Teacher Today
October 5 | Wednesday
Happy Hump Day Friends! And Happy Teachers Day to our teacher-bloggers here. The greetings also go to the parents- moms and dads who served as our first teachers.
Though I'm not teaching, I was able to enjoy the gifts the students gave. My boss is an instructor and a box of cupcakes was sent earlier for her. She gave some to us. So, yeah I got my share. My senior writer also shared the Cloud 9 he received from his students. Thanks for your generosity, workmates!
On top of that, my boss gave us treats again earlier in the morning. Her sister-in-law came home from Australia and so she sent us treats. I got two lipsticks, chocolates and a can of Cadbury Drinking Chocolate. Ahh, it's nice to be on receiving end of some people's generosity.
Today, teachers are extra appreciated. We may see a lot of posts on social media about complaints about teachers but still, we can't discount the fact that there are still several teachers who do their job religiously. None can contend with the number of sacrifices they do for the students. Some share a meal or two with the students. Some travel to mountainous areas to pay a visit to students who fail to attend their classes. These and more are evidence that teaching is indeed the noblest profession.
In one way or another, there's a teacher who has left a significant impact on our lives. Some teachers have uttered words that have kept us going. Some have opened possibilities for us. Some opened the window to the world allowing us to dream boundlessly.
Surely, what and who we are today is something we are indebted to our teachers. They have moulded us and opened doors for us. They have become instrumental in our growth and development.
As the day presumes, I want to thank our first teachers- our parents. We won't be in school without their guidance and initiative. They're the ones who taught us the ABCs and the 123s. Most importantly, we learned our values from them. Our preachers are also celebrated today as they taught us the most important life lessons. The subject is vital in strengthening and building our relationship with God.
Teachers come in different forms. They can be from school. They can be from church. They can be our exes and our friends who have taught us lessons in one way or another. Experiences can also be considered as a teacher if they caused a change in attitude.
So be reminded:
All that we are now is not completely due to our efforts, so thank a teacher today.
Happy Teacher's Day!
