Regrets of a Drunk Grandson

It has been two weeks since Jake left home.

It was a beautiful day as I can recall. Everyone is ecstatic to celebrate a holiday. Jake's family held a celebration. They always do that. Every time someone would celebrate a birthday or if there is a special occasion, surely there will be food available at the table and drinks too. Jake has two aunts abroad who sponsor everything. Technically, all the celebrations were held at his grandparent's place.

Jake never liked his grandma on the paternal side. But he gets along with his grandpa well. Lately, they go fishing. He accompanies his grandpa as he is blind and needs assistance.

During one celebration, Jake drank a lot with his grandpa. There he lost his composure and poured all his disappointment towards his grandma. All this time, he is holding a grudge against her saying that she only favours her grandchildren whose parents are abroad. She never cares about her other grandchildren.

Jake said quite a lot of things that he regretted. He almost throws a fit at his grandparent's place and he didn't listen to his parent's advice. He listens to no one. Afraid of what might he do, his older brother took him away from their home. He spent the night at his brother's house.

On the next morning, he went to his girlfriend's home. Ashamed of what he did, he humbly asked her to take him. His girlfriend was angry but she couldn't afford to shoo him away as he is not in his normal self. He is a guy with confidence but at that time, his confidence runs low. She wasn't used to that mood of him. That's why even though she's angry and she felt like this is the perfect time to leave him. She closed his eyes and forget her pride and took him. She consoled him and assured him that everything will be alright.

Jake promised never to come back to his homeland as he is ashamed of what he did. He admitted that he did a mistake and that he didn't know what happened to him. He drinks but it was only that time that he screwed up.

He realized that he must restrict himself from drinking. He promised not to drink any more as he can't control himself. It has been a long time since the last time that he drank liquor.

Now, Jake is back at his grandparent's place on her mother's side. He grew up there and though they weren't that rich, he like them as they weren't greedy for him. He love them wholeheartedly so he decided to stay there for good to take good care of them. His brother has moved out and has his own family already. That's why he needs to step up and take care of the elderly.

Jakes's mom is the only child and his grandparents only have him to lean on. Even though, they never requested for him to take care of them. He took the initiative to be with them as they are already in the years of their sunset.
