Good evening read-friends! Christmas really is around the corner.
Today as I was reading some article. I came across gwapojohn's article which he reminisced how we take pride and joy in celebrating christmas party and of course exchanging gifts. This reminds me of my first christmas party in my workplace.
Christmas Party is an event everyone would look forward to. There will always be somthing that adds joy and excitement as you hear the word 'christmas party'. It could be the food, gifts, games and many other fun or merry-making activities.
Last year, we celebrated our christmas party by the beach.
This is the most exciting part of the event. Or not. Because weeks before the party, we list down items that we want to receive from our manitas.
Except for me. I didn't write an item on my wish list because I wanted to be surprised of the gift that I'll received. I had a fantasy that my manita will give me a gift which she thinks suits me well.
But. But. But. It turned out that it was not a good idea.
This is what I got from the something long and something soft category. The cotton lasts for more than a month for me as I'm a very tipid person. But the stick-O lasted minutes only.π
This is what I got from the something gold and something sweet category. The juice powder was very useful as it quenched our thirst. We consume it one hot afternoon some time last year.
My manita never bothered to look for a nice and presentable gift wrap. She made use of their calendar and tie it with something from the sack.
For the final gift, I got P200 because I never listed something on the wishlist. Lesson learned: Grow up! And quit wanting fantasy. Write what you want for Christmas. π
After we ate our lunch, we had multiple games that tested the strength of our bodies. Everyone complained when there is running involved as we don't have the right amount of air and exercise due to sitting and facing the computer all day, everyday.
But, still we had fun.
The rain was pouring that time but we never mind. We shrugged it off because we said it will only add fun to the game and we would dip in the sea after all the games.
We never stopped laughing while we were in the middle of the game, running and panting maybe that was because of the drink. One of my co-worker kept on handing us glass of juice with I don't know what she mixed it with.
In the end, most of us never dipped ourselves on the water. We were so tired that we want to spend the free time to sit and munch on some chips and some leftovers from lunch.
The party ended with the mandatory group photo with everyone proudly holding gifts. Excuse the mess on the table. That was the aftermath of our hunger.
I remember everyone were equally happy that day to have unwinded and relaxed just for a day. Oh, not relaxed because we were tired after all the games. More of having fun. We took turns singing in the karaoke too.
We were just so thankful that time for the gift of life, work and the gift of friendship that we have formed with our workmates. Though there were differences and conflicts, still we managed to be united to pursue one goal.
It is just so fascinating and unbelieving that we will all be having another party like this in few months. (If God permits and if covid protocols would allow.) It seems like this one just happened yesterday.
These same people hated the idea of having a Christmas Party at first because they thought that they will just be wasting their effort, time and money. They planned to never attend the party and just spend the day with family. But look at those faces, aren't they happy? These same faces were number one in line in the games and in foods. Look, how happy those smiles are! The other one is still daydreaming and maybe still feeling the satisfaction that the food gave her.π
Good evening friends! How was your christmas party last year? Care to share yours?
Thank you so much everyone! To my sponsors, upvoters, to the people who spent time to read and comment, you made my soul happy! Thank you heaps!
