May is Here

Hallo, hallo! Happy New Month fam! Happy May One. I hope we are all smiles now as we are welcoming a brand new month?

How did your May One go?

May One is a holiday but since it falls on a Sunday, we haven't enjoyed a day off from work. Nevertheless, we honour every labourer today more than on any other day. Celebrate might be the correct them. We celebrate the life and hard work of every individual working and hustling from day to night, whether they work overtime, work from home or company site.

We had a wonderful time visiting grandma today. I'm glad she is doing fine now. She can recognize all of us and can eat on her own. She would only need to take the prescribed medicine and her caregivers need to keep a record of her blood pressure. Every week, she also has to visit the doctor.

I can see grandma's body's drastic change. She became weak unlike before when she can still visit her farm. She would even grab wood for cooking. Now, she would only spend her time lying on the bed and sitting. She is bored especially now that the power is still not restored. Her only source of happiness is my niece and her visitors. She even scolded me for coming over wearing ripped jeans. I then immediately come home and change my clothes.

This afternoon my neighbours skipped their nap time and spend the time playing near the river. They made a house using big stones. Their moms are the happiest as this means less screen time for them.

This reminds me of my childhood. We used to spend time here doing the same thing these kids do. Those were the good old days when we don't have to worry about bills and savings. Those were the days when we were eager to be in college, achieve our dreams and work in a well-reputed company. I can only reminisce the days since we can't go back in time. Even if there is a time machine, still it won't be the same.

Move forward. That is what we have to do. Strategize so we can be winners in life. Approach life with strength and grit and enough skills to get through the day even when there are times when we are faking it.

I want to welcome May with high hopes. First, for the upcoming election, I hope there won't be issues and anomalies. I pray that the newly elected leaders would have the wisdom and conviction to lead the country on the right path. I hope he or she has that love for the country that he/or she would only think of what's good for the countrymen.

I'm hoping for better days. I hope that we won't be using face shields anytime soon and may the students enjoy the face to face classes.

Moreover, I don't want to put much pressure on myself. I will be celebrating small wins and counting the blessings one by one. Fewer rants and complaints. I would have more alone time and more time spent with family and friends.
