The recent news came as a shock for many, especially Barcelona fans. After nearly two decades wearing the Blaugrana shirt he had enough.

It all started to go downhill when Neymar left Barca in 2017. This transfer netted nearly €222 million for Barca but what did they do with it?
They nearly paid around €600 million in the last 4 years since Neymar's departure, but they were never able to replace him.

It all started with the purchase of Coutinho and Dembele for a total sum of nearly €300 million.

It was a really bizarre market for Barcelona but was the purchasing of unproven and injury-prone 20-years old Ousmane Dembele an answer to their problems?

The Answer is NO.

The Frenchman missed 80 games since his arrival and played only 86 games!

That's definitely not Neymar's replacement so is Coutinho who couldn't adapt well.

Barca didn't stop spending money without thinking about the future, They bought Malcom for 41m who didn't even spend one season with Barcelona.

Ignoring the needed replacement and enforcement in so many positions within the team.

During the past 5 years, Barca wasn't able to get past the quarter-finals at UCL except for one time and they got eliminated by Liverpool.

19/20 was the worst season for Barcelona for nearly a decade as they finished with 0 trophies and an embarrassing defeat to Bayern with a humiliating 8 goals.

Barca took Messi for granted as if he wouldn't ever leave and that was their biggest problem. They didn't try to build a good team for the future with an average age of 27 and most of their key players are +29 years old.

Barca will be going through a rebuilding phase that would take a lot of time if Messi decided to leave.

We might never see 05/06 - 17/18 Barca never again if the board doesn't wake up from their long sleep and build for the future of the team.

They were supposed to build a team to help Leo in his last few years but unfortunately, they made him carry the whole team on his back without a single player to help him and that was the horrible result. HE GOT FED UP.

It's a really unfortunate way to end such a long career and to end such a big love story, a story of loyalty that can't be found anymore in our world of football as $$ always talks.
