Good morning Story time, at 9:00 pm me tumawag sakin yung head ng volunteer president namin na wala sya tao para mag repack ng delata at bigas tsaka i cocolect na yung mga inipon namin na damit at kumot para sana sa project namin sa December sa mga aeta, ayun nag tawag ako ng kaibigan na pwd ako samahan at dalawa sumama sakin, then nag ask lang ako sa mga kabataan na tambay na nadaanan ko at me sumama naman, nag repack kami until 3am at naidlip nalang kami ng kasama ko sa bahay ng volunteer president namin,. Philippine mythology creatures "tikbalang" One of the most well-known and long-lasting mythical animals in Filipino folklore. The tikbalang is claimed to be a half-human, half-horse creature in the pattern of the Greek Pan, with a human upper body and horse lower limbs. There are two known versions of the creature's appearance: the more popular and frequently depicted version depicts the tikbalang with a horse's head, while the lesser known version depicts it with a human face. Both tales agree, however, that the tikbalang has extremely long, powerful legs that resemble the back quarter of a horse, complete with hooves. According to legend, anyone who can ride the tikbalang and pluck the golden hair from its nape can tame the beast and turn it into a willing slave. However, in its natural state, the tikbalang, no matter how powerful it is, does not harm or kill people. At worst, it misleads people and plays devious tricks on their senses. Although I am not aware of any other regional variations of its name, as far as I am aware, the word tikbalang is universally understood throughout the Philippines. However, it is possible that there are other regional variations of its name. When it comes to the origin of the word, I can't say for certain where it came from. In tagalog, a balang is a locust. Since it is common knowledge that locusts have relatively lengthy hind legs, one of the things that puzzles me about the depiction of the tikbalang as stooped over with its legs folded and with knees that are higher than its shoulders is whether or not this fact might have something to do with it. It would appear to be an enormous version of a locust in some way.

Philippine mythology creatures "pugot mamu" The Pugot Mamu is said to be the scariest creature to ever come from the province of Pampanga in the Philippines. It is a headless entity, much like the more well-known Pugot, although there are a few key distinctions between the two. It is said that the Pugot is the spirit of a priest who was beheaded, but all it does is scare people. On the other hand, the Pugot Mamu is a creature made of flesh and bone that has an insatiable appetite for children. How is he able to consume them if they don't have heads? However, his neck and shoulders have been transformed into a mammoth mouth that consumes youngsters and then spits them out. Philippine mythology creatures "wakwak/manananggal" The Manananggal and the Wakwak are two more forms of demonic creatures that are on par with the Aswang when it comes to the number of films that have been made about them here in the Philippines. It is said that during the day, the Manananggal appears to be a beautiful woman; but, once night falls, she morphs into a hideous monster that feeds on human viscera. It is stated that the Manananggal will slip out of her house sometime close to midnight in order to hide in the bushes or perhaps in a grove of banana trees. She then applies a specific kind of oil all over her body, and within a few minutes she will get wings similar to those of a bat, and her body will be severed at the waist. The portion of the body below the navel will remain immobile, but the upper part will continue to move about in search of food. Because of its highly developed sense of smell, it is able to detect the presence of a sick person or a pregnant lady from many miles away. Locals in certain parts of the Philippines, particularly in the Visayas, call it the Wakwak. This term is most common in the Visayas. The sound that the Wakwak makes with its wings when it is hovering or flying is where the name of this bird comes from. Philippine folklore "aswang" Within the context of Philippine culture, the Aswang is one of the more ubiquitous folklore notions. It can be compared to the Western werewolf or vampire in terms of how popular it is, especially in the Philippines. It is challenging to summarize in a single line what an aswang is, although there is widespread consensus among individuals of many various races regarding a number of aspects related to it. (1) that the majority of its diet consists of human blood and liver, and (2) that it has an evil preference for the young children who have not yet been born. (3) that it is also well-documented to prey upon vulnerable populations, including children and the sick. When taken in a more general sense, the name "Aswang" can be used to refer to the entire pantheon of sinister creatures that appear in Philippine folklore.

These beings, sometimes portrayed as an old man or 'nuno' with the height of a tiny child living beneath the earth (hence the term "nuno sa punso"), hold more than simply simple tales to scare and make the young behave. What could be more exciting (or horrifying) than discovering that there are many types of Duwende in the Philippines, and that they can be a loving, generous friend or a vengeful foe? Philippine folklore suggests that mounds of soil or anthills are home to more than just insects. Most of us who grew up in the provinces of the Philippines understood why we were taught to always apologize (hence the term "tabi tabi po" becoming commonplace in our country) whenever we passed by this soil formation, or even in isolated areas where trees and shadows create a mysterious atmosphere. Your playmate's quick onset of a fever or inflammation was probably also attributed to the residents of these mounds. Platters of food are frequently left out as an offering to the invisible health giver. Duwendes are infamous for their supernatural capacity to inflict untreatable illness on anyone who have wronged or offended them, such as skin rashes, inflammations, and fevers.
