Alyssa Valdez: A Woman who became 'Center of Volleyball in the Philippines'.

4 87

According to coach Roger Gorayeb, Alyssa was eligible to play for Admu by season 73 if only the UST released her papers pero di ito ginawa ng UST kaya nag residence si Alyssa ng isang taon at nag debut by season 74.

The Ateneo head asked Gorayeb if Alyssa was worth it then Gorayeb answered, "Yes, gagawin kong centro ng Ateneo ang batang 'to." (but later became the center of Philippine Women's Volleyball for more or less a decade)

Fast forward. Remember their match against Cagayan Volley finals, sobrang iyak ni Alyssa nung umupo na sya sa bench. The commentators were asking kung bat sya umiiyak and were speculating na baka may pinagdadaanan daw.

Coach Gorayeb revealed the story behind in an interview.

Alyssa Valdez is really passionate when it comes to playing her sport. I may not be a huge fan of her but I truly respect her for inspiring a lot of filipino atheletes.

No doubt, why Alyssa Valdez became so popular and well known in the field of volleyball. She sacrifice and suffered a lot before she became volleyball superstar. She became an inspiration to a lot of athlete's not just in volleyball but all kind of sports. Being student athlete is not easy, you need to manage your time in training, as well as balance your time in your academic. You must not fail even one subject because it will affect your eligibility to play in Universities League.

I am not like Alyssa Valdez's but the life of Alyssa is enough to says that I can be a good volleyball player to. She is one of the athletes that I made as an inspiration to continue in life, even though it's hard. Kudos to all of those student athletes who are successful and graduated. I know it was tough and hard, but all the sacrifices has been paid off.

I know that there are only few people here, who knew Alyssa Valdez. Try to search some background about her and her accomplishments. Life may be hard and difficult, but if you are a diligent person surely you will be a successful person ONEDAY.
