In life, there are two kinds of individuals: those who make their choices based on faith and those who are limited by fear. Faith encourages us to move forward while fear can keep us stuck in the world of our own choice, mundane but "secure."
Do you have doubts that are holding you back from growth opportunities? Of what you can do, residing in fear versus confidence makes all the difference. How you want to handle the risks and possibilities that you put before you can largely decide your lot in life and affect your happiness potential.
Live Fear-Based
Fear helps cause you to get out of the way if a speeding car is headed straight for you. Therefore, healthy fear shields us from immediate risk. But if our fear causes us to avoid regular traffic paths, because we are starting to imagine that a tragedy is bound to reach us we have caused our fear to influence the way we live. In an unhealthy way, paranoia has taken over.
If we remain unhappy and bound by fear or not is our decision. Maybe we do this because we imagine it's easier to be trapped in a rut than to feel the pain of failure or another near call's trauma. Or maybe we dwell too much on what we have failed at that we decide not to take any more of those kinds of chances again. This leaves us trapped and filled with remorse, the only consolation being that it could have been worse for our case. Yet to look back and believe how our life could have been easier and more fulfilling if we had not been so hamstrung by fear is more psychologically torturing.
Living Based on Faith
Living in faith, an individual may ask, "What's the worst thing that can happen?" and instead find the best result. We can step forward more easily when we can really analyze future results and see when our worries are not worth fretting about.
But if the opposite of fear is confidence, does that mean that we can pay no attention to fear? Faith does not mean that we are careless or blind. Knowing the times when fear is necessary and when wisdom is not crucial. When our fear makes us decide not to do anything stupid, immoral, or unethical, rational fear will actually complement trust, because we are understandably afraid of the negative consequences. When implications have been weighed, we can go forward in faith and believe there are good reasons to take action. People who live in faith do not let pessimistic thoughts smother their dreams; instead, they keep their options open and open-mindedly consider the possibilities before them.
How in the face of fear and doubt, can you go forward? Choose "doubt your fears" and have faith. You will continue to evolve and develop yourself, even though you have some setbacks. You see your reward ahead, but a chasm with no apparent way to cross to the other side lies before you. Are you one to let fear get the best of you and turn back in the battle between fear versus faith? Or would you move forward on an unseen path under your feet, as Indiana Jones did in his search of the Holy Grail? As you move towards your goals and broaden your horizons, Faith will help you see secret possibilities.

Fear. The age-old enemy, almost certainly a key factor in preventing many of you from pursuing your goals, in fact it stops you from acting, making you afraid of taking the first step. Fear is what holds you back. Fear is one of the reasons why we don't go after what we really want in life.
