Observatories in the Gardens by the Bay

Here's a continuation of my previous article concerning our first day in Singapore, you can read about the first part here: Day One of Five in Singapore!

After having lunch, we went straight to the observatories, we first decided to visit the Cloud Forest first. My husband's company gave us tickets while I booked my parent's tickets online via Klook.

Getting inside was easy as we just presented the e-tickets, they scanned the code, and we were already inside.

As soon as we got in, we were greeted by the artificial waterfall which was so high that it creates a strong impact at the bottom of the observatory. We wanted to take good photos here but then there were lots of photobombers, we couldn't even get a decent shot without anyone in the background.

I took photos first of my parents and then I suggested to my husband to take a timelapse shot of us and the waterfalls. It took a long time to get the shot and it was challenging because there were many other people coming in and out of the location.

Fortunately, we got the shot we wanted after a few seconds of standing still and facing the waterfall.

From there, we headed towards the 6th floor taking the elevator. It was amazing to see natural plants and flowers here. We had to follow the trail and went with what looked like a maze.

In the Cloud Forest, they have misting time too and I guess this is how the plants here had survived, they use the water to mist the entire place and plants are getting just enough water and sun to grow, flourish, and survive.

And then we decided to get down to the ground floor instead and skip the other levels, we were already over the spiral maze. Although the amazing parts as well were the nice view of the Singapore Flyer and the Marina Bay Sands. We were in a hurry because I have to change Matti's nappies and then take the comfort room too.

As we were already at the ground floor for the exit, we decided to check out what was in there at the end of the trail, it was actually nice and a little mystical.

The exit leads us toward the souvenir shop. We went out and headed this time to the Flower Dome.

The Flower Dome is such a huge garden and they have collaborated too with other countries to bring into the dome the different species of floras for everyone to see. Unfortunately, Matti was very sleepy already at that time and was asking for milk. He cries when he didn't get his milk so we had to find a place for me to breastfeed him.

While latching, he was able to sleep and then woke up after a while. The good thing is that this place is air-conditioned so it was comfortable just sitting there in the cacti area and waiting for him to wake up.

He did wake up after maybe 30 minutes, I was alright just sitting there resting too. My husband and parents were roaming around.

As Matti woke up, his energy levels were up, and were running all over the place! It was already five in the afternoon when we went out of the dome, passed by the supertree grove, took a few photos here, and headed to the Marina Bay Sands Skypark for the overlooking view of Marina Bay but we found a long queue!

We were not able to wait in the queue and instead went home as we had a lot of walking that day. We grabbed dinner at home instead because a family friend visited us with some Indian food!

That's all for our first day in Singapore! And oh, it was also our first day riding the MRT from the Marina Bay to our hotel. It was a little tiring using the MRT but it was the easiest way for us to reach home.

I am more of a bus person rather than the train and that is because I can see the outside world. Also, with the train, we have to walk for a while to get to the highway from the underground.
