I Treated the Family Milk Teas on Hearts Day
My husband and I are not the sweetest when it comes to gifts and surprises. We don’t give gifts and oftentimes, we just say greetings personally, we don’t show much on social media although I post our photos, he isn't that kind of guy but that’s okay, I got used to it already and so this year’s hearts’ day, he got work and we can’t go out. So, instead, I asked if I could instead treat the family and he agreed.
But before that, I got the chance to also wash my baby’s cloth diaper and hang it outside, it felt so good being able to wash the laundry, especially my baby’s diapers. It felt satisfying seeing them on the clothesline. Also, Matti and James were in the garden, checking the garden house. My father’s seedlings are already up and we are excited to replant them soon as soon as they have four real leaves.
It was my lunch when I suggested that we go to the beach. The weather was better compared to last week so the kids immediately said yes as they wanted to swim in warm waters. We suggested we go there at around two in the afternoon so we can enjoy the beach and the sun won’t be too harsh once we reach there.
That would also be a good time because we are done with lunch, we will just bring anything for snacks. I thought pizza and milk tea would be a great combo but when we called the pizza shop, they ran out of stocks so we have no option this time but to buy bread instead, anyway, they are just the same carbs.
So by around two in the afternoon, we decided to get out of the house but again, there were members who were still sleeping like my baby. We decided to wait until they woke up.
Eventually, they were up 30 minutes after and so we headed out but then we still have to buy milk tea and we ordered 12 cups, gladly, the milk tea shop has a promo running from February 10-15 where we can buy one large red velvet for Php 143 and get a medium-sized of any flavor. So we took advantage of that instead and I saved a lot too!
We headed to Flower Beach Resort because there’s a public road there going to the beach and we don’t have to pay anything to get to the shore. We reached the beach after around ten minutes and we found so many things had changed in this resort! The recent typhoon had somehow changed the landscape of the beach and shoreline.
There were areas where the white sand had covered the rocky parts and so the stairs of the resort had somehow become short, the area where we had taken Matti’s 10th-month pictorial is now filled with white sand, but the resort’s huts were damaged, their beach island cottage, although cemented is now left without a roof and the stairs also had disappeared.
Although this had happened, there were still guests and I am glad to see that. On the other hand, we looked for a spot where we can place our stuff. We placed them at the side where the limestone rock wall is and then we ate our snacks.
At the beach, it’s good to eat, our appetite improves, the kids loved the milk tea too! We took a group shot of course as a souvenir. Then we went to the waters! It’s warm but windy, thanks to the sun, it helped us with the cold wind. We played a lot, we swam, I miss my husband though, I wished he was there with us but then, there’s work, there were a lot of important things that he has to do but he told me I can book a villa for our wedding anniversary soon next week and I can’t wait for that. God willing, we will be able to go out with just the three of us, Matti and James.
We spent the entire afternoon now swimming and playing with the kids. Matti really had fun together with his cousins. My family loves the beach!
Then it was time to go home. The sun was also setting. It’s been a while that we have not seen a sunset view and I am just glad we went here. The sunset was really great! I took a lot of images. At this moment, I wished James was with us, we could take photographs together.
Anyway, we will do that in the future. For now, I hope everyone had spent some time with their loved ones, partners, or even family members on hearts' day.
