A Day of Misery
Writing this article upon waking up this early morning because I am feeling better, Thank God! Yesterday, I had a bad day, it was filled with misery going back and forth to the comfort room.
As a context, the day before yesterday was my aunt’s birthday and we were invited to have dinner at their place. My mother wanted to really go there so I had to accompany her. My younger brother drove us and we ate lechon. I ate a lot of spaghetti too! And that was it, I didn’t eat anything else. The next day which was yesterday, I woke up with a bad backache, for some reason, I felt like being beaten! I asked my husband to massage my back and he did but the pain was still there, I could somehow endure it, and then comes the misery.
I went to the comfort room, I was discharged and it was normal. But just a few minutes after I went out, I could feel that my stomach is grumbling again so I went back and this time, it was just water. I thought it was just normal so I cleaned up and went back to the room but then after a few minutes again, there it was once again.
I couldn’t recall the number of times that I went back and forth to the comfort room. It was such a hassle because we have no running water, we still have to fetch it from our tank which takes a lot of effort.
By lunch, I had no appetite anymore. My mother gave me loperamide and I took it. She said this should help but it didn’t. I was still going to the comfort room. I also drank Gatorade as it was mostly water each time and I was afraid I’d go dehydrated.
I wasn’t feeling well anymore, I was chilling a bit even though it was not very cold and I told my mother about it so she said I should get a message.
By five, I took another loperamide and this somehow worked, I had the urge to go to the bathroom once only but after dinner, I didn’t feel like going, and then the massage went well too.
It was so good getting a massage. I love how her hands were just pushing my muscles, especially my back. I went to sleep right away after the massage and as I woke up today, the misery has gone and I am feeling better! Thank God!
Another thing that had happened today was that we finally found the right seller with the right price for a generator set. We currently have a generator but that is just borrowed from a family friend, also that generator is an overkill, it is very huge and it takes a lot of gas consumption.
So, for the past weeks, we have been looking for the generator set but most of those that we see online are overpriced. We also saw some which were displayed in Tagbilaran City and all of them were overpriced.
Our reservation in CITI Hardware has not arrived as well. We promised ourselves that we won’t buy anything overpriced but yesterday, my younger brother referred us to one whom he know personally and the price was just right.
It’s a 1.8kva Blackstone generator which is priced at Php 11,800 and since the item is still in Manila, the seller said she just has to ask for an additional 3500 for the shipping. That is just reasonable because most sellers would sell this kind of generator at almost Php 20k.
I paid it right away because we trust her, according to the seller, it will take a week for the item to arrive. The electricity here in our place will take another two to three months before it can be fully restored.
With the smaller kva generator set, we can now spend less on the gasoline and our priority at this point is just the lights, computers, and the modem.
On the other hand, I also was able to contact my cousin in Cebu who was about to travel back to Bohol. I asked him to buy me rechargeable fans, the Firefly brand. Some sellers are selling them here in our place but they are selling them at PHP 900 when it is just Php 599 in the malls.
So I asked him to buy four items and he will arrive today in Bohol. I need the fan especially when it is hot at night or in the afternoon in our room, this is just for Matti’s sake.
So, that’s it. Thanks for reading!
