Everyone loves freebies. Free accommodation, free trips and free stuffs. Almost all loved it including me. In my previous article, Digital Literacy Training for Happy Forest Kids I and my colleagues were busy in our tasks for the training but there is a reward behind. We were able to enjoy free accommodation and access to a campsite near the beach and Pygmy Spring.
The venue of the Digital Literacy Training is a Campsite. Darrport Campsite is known here in Mati City for DIY travelers and for those who loves camping.
Its amenities are designed for the camping activities. Most are made from wood and other ecofriendly materials. There are also hammocks and a place where you set up tents. It is amazing that you need to take mountains and rocky road before you can arrive the site but when you are arrive there, it is actually near the sea.
The training is 3 days, and we spent one night there to enjoy our relaxation time. We enjoyed the cool sea breeze at night and the the sound of the waves as it reaches the seashore. I had again witnessed the beautiful sunrise and the fresh air early in the morning. What a wonderful creation! God is really amazing for making things into place.
The campsite is just 15-20 minutes boat ride to the famous Pujada Island. It is one of the known island in the region. The trainers from the DICT went there.
We were also able to enjoy the Pygmy Springs, the HFK coordinator has also a place where you can enjoy swimming in a fresh water spring. From the campsite, we spent around 15 minutes by car or 30 minutes through walking taking a shortcut.
The place is really cool, the water is so cold and clean. The owner already made some stone arrangements for the water to be deep and one can enjoy swimming. Me and my colleagues enjoyed taking pictures, swimming and talking things about our program and beyond. It is called Pygmy springs because it has many pygmy trees, the trees that were no longer growing tall.
One of the things that I am really proud of our place - Davao Oriental specifically, Mati City are the beautiful beaches, spring resorts and wonderful people. I am happy that I was able to avail access to those for free. Again we were able to enjoy work and leisure at the same time.
Author's Note
This week and last week have been very tough in terms of tasks in the office. I saw lots of contests in both noise and read and I am also excited for it. I will try my best to participate to some. I am happy to read few articles and I'm inspired to write. After the hustles of life, I need a breather and thanks for this platform where I can share my simple joys and adventures.
