Volunteer

Three days before the National Vaccination day, we are too busy at the Office to photocopy the forms of the vaccine. We prepare 200 copies of each vaccine. The vaccine that is available on our site was Pfizer for adults and Minor, Moderna for Adults and minors, AstraZeneca and Sinovac. For that preparation, we started at 10 am and ended at 4 pm because it's not just one page of every Vaccine form it was 3 copies or 4 copies and we only have two Riso Copier in the Office.

On the second day, it's my rest day so that my co-employee continued what they have done yesterday and I rest in that day. On Saturday my Co employee informed me that we will report to the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial College as a Volunteer for the Vaccination and we need to report early as 7 Am because we don't know how many people will arrive for that vaccination.

On that day or the first day of the National Vaccination we assigned for the listing of the people, we don't receive a Vaccination form earlier because my 2 co-employee were assigned for that. After almost two hours of listing, they produce almost 200 copies of the vaccine form so we stop and distribute it.

We notice that we are not so busy anymore, we went to our employer and ask for a new task, and she instructed me to make a priority number from 1 up to 300 and photocopies again of some of the vaccine forms. So we leave in the area and we went to the Office from 10 am again up to 4 pm. We just do photocopy and photocopy until the Riso machine surrender or the ink will be empty until we refill it because it needed the forms.

On the Second Day of the National Vaccination day and it's a Holiday, it's Bonifacio day we still have work. We already know that we don't have a salary on that day because we are only Job Order it's a just a Volunteer on that day. We arrive at the office early in the morning and wait for the instruction of our employer. Until they chat us that they need two people there because they have a lot to write. So the two co-employees volunteered to go there so only three of us were left in the office.

After an hour they chat us and needed our help, they want us to help them to write. So we immediately went there and help them, and we never expect anything. And the Vaccinator instructed us what to fill or write in the Vaccination card. We only write data of the clients in the Vaccination Card but we never expect that will be so easy but it's hard because my hand surrender for writing. We only have one hour break we came back at 1 pm. I think for almost 6 hours of writing I finished almost 400 vaccination Card.

On the 3rd day of the National Vaccination, we are hired again as a writer of the Vaccine Card but not as busy as on the other day. But we only go there just only for half-day because the availability of the vaccine is too small. But in the afternoon there are 200 slots of Sinovac Vaccine arrived so they continue their vaccination for 200 people.

We did not come back in the afternoon because there are a lot of volunteers coming, so we only stay in our office and waited for the instruction if they needed a vaccine form. We never expect that we will be working out there because we were only instructed to produce copies of the vaccination form but they never expect that a lot of people came for the vaccination so they needed our help.

The vaccination was extended for the 4th day and as usual, we produce some copies of the vaccine form again. And also we did not come back there because we already know that there are a lot of volunteers coming.

Yesterday was the last day but we are slightly sad because they did not thank us for our help they are saying thank you to the people who help them just the day before it ended. But my co-employee told me that's fine the important is we offer our presence and help there even they did not mention it on their page about us. That task was for the Province employees but they are asking for local help we are glad that we are one of them even they never appreciate it.

I've been hurt, I have pain in my fingers, I have cramps in my shoulder while writing the vaccine Card but it's a great experience to be part of them. I am happy to help other people as a big achievement even they did not appreciate it. We will consider it because I think they are too busy so they forget us immediately. Hahaha.

We are expecting to become busy this coming end of the month for the second dose of the vaccine. Even it's too tiring but we are so happy to help them again.
