Some of these softwares are designed to correct typographical errors, vocabulary errors, and other basic errors that are made while writing articles, while others are used to check the authenticity of an article

Turnitin is an online platform that help individuals or organizations check the authenticity of a content.
Turnitin scans it's database and other data on the internet, and also has licensing agreement to help Instructors use this platform to compare the authenticity of a report.
You can only use Turnitin once per assignment. For "draft" paper assignment, you will need to create another assignment for Turnitin to check the final draft of the paper.
Guide to use Turnitin:
•select assignment
•then click add assignment name
•name assignment, add dates and select "Single Uploaded Files Only".
•Under submission Type, click in the dropdown box and select External tool
• Click Find
This displays the list of Canvas External tools
•Click Turnitin, then Select
This connects the Assignment submissions to the Turnitin Service.
•Add the desired assign dates/times, then click Save (or Save and Publish)
This creates an Assignment in which student submissions will be sent to Turnitin and an Originality Report will be returned back to the Canvas Assignment.
• Click on the Turnitin Menu Icon
•Click Settings
This displays the Turnitin Settings for this Assignment.
• Select sources to compare
• Select Originality Report generation and resubmissions
Note: The default is "Generate Reports immediately (resubmissions are not allowed)"
•Select exclusions
• Decide if students will receive a copy of the Originality Report
• Decide what should happen with the paper once the Originality Report is completed
Take note of the following:
•Submit papers to the following repository:
Selecting "none" means after the originality check is done on paper the paper will not go into Turnitin paper repository. This can be a good choice if the assignment is for a draft paper.
If none is selected the second version of paper submitted on a different assignment will not be checked against the draft version of same paper.
Selecting "Standard Paper Repository" means that after originality check has been done on paper, it will go into Turnitin paper repository. Other papers submitted on Turnitin anywhere in the world will be checked against it.
• Generate originality reports:
Selecting immediately will cause a copy of the submitted paper to be sent to Turnitin.com. Turnitin.com will create an originality report then send back to the truck assignment for the instructor to view.
This process usually takes 15 - 20 mins depending on the length of paper
Selecting "On Due Date" will delay sending copies of the paper to Turnitin until the assignment due date/time. Turnitin.com will create an originality reports and sent them back to the Trunk assignment for the instructor to view. This process usually takes about 20 minutes for each submission, depending on the length of the paper.
• Check originality against:
If "Turnitin paper repository" is checked, Turnitin will compare the submitted text against all papers exising in their world-wide database of submitted papers.
If "Current and archived internet" is checked, Trunitin will compare the submitted text against all current and archived text located on the public Internet.
If "Periodicals, journals, and publications" is checked, Turnitin will compare the submitted text agaist their extensive database of periodicals, journals, and publications
There is no Tufts "Institution-specific repository".
Complete the Assignment form, then click Post.
