Today I bring you the word stupefied which comes from the Latin stupefactus.

It is an adjective that, according to the real dictionary of the Spanish academy, means astonished or stunned.

So stupefied is a word that indicates a person who is extremely surprised, stunned or amazed by something he has discovered, something that has happened to him, or something that has been revealed to him. This is an emotion that can be caused by different factors, from unexpected news to events that have caused a great impact on the person. For example, a person who has just won the lottery several million, well, he remains in that state of shock, stupefied, and does not believe that he has won the lottery.

Another example of being stunned is when a person sees, for example, that a building is collapsing, then they remain in that state of shock. Another example of being stunned is when a tremor or an earthquake starts, then immediately the person is stupefied, in a state of shock at that moment.

But the title that concerns us today is when this surprise becomes an emotion that crushes us.

Which is too much for us. So this title invites us to explore what this emotion means, this strong emotion and the way it is related to other emotions, and how it can affect us in different scenarios.

This is an emotion that happens when something we don't expect happens to us. It is a process, a natural reaction that the brain has before the new, before the unknown and that generally translates into a sensation of emotional and physical paralysis. In different situations, this can be the response to an emotion, before the person recovers again and begins to act or make a decision again.

I want to note that stupefaction is necessarily an emotion that does not have to be only negative. Disbelief or shock or surprise can be the result of positive news or events, such as a salary increase, winning the lottery that we already gave this example, or a marriage proposal. Thus, it can also be associated with traumatic events such as the news of having a deadly disease such as cancer or the news of being evicted from our home. So it can also be associated with this type of event.

In any of these situations we are clear that stupefaction is something difficult to handle, it is a complicated emotion. The feeling of losing control is something that leaves a person speechless and with a number of thought processes in the moment. It is something that is difficult to control.

You have to be very mentally focused at this moment, focus, take a few breaths, do an instant meditation to be able to regain focus and be able to make the decision that will benefit us or the most correct decision for that moment.

We must know that this is a natural emotion that, although it is difficult to manage, we can control by doing meditation exercises or exercises to focus attention.

I personally have had moments in which I have been stunned and this has happened to me especially when I have received strong news such as the death of my relatives, or situations in which my life has been in danger, when I have been robbed by criminals in the street and they have pointed a gun at my head. These are moments in which I have been stunned and have made important decisions that have kept me alive.

And well, this is the word stupefied that I hope will help you to enrich your day even more.
