The risks of being an alcoholic on this Eve
On New Year’s Eve, the risks of being an alcoholic increase significantly as drinking is widely considered to be an acceptable activity to partake in during celebrations. This could easily lead to an individual consuming more alcohol than they would normally and severely disrupting their tolerance. An unprepared body may not be able to handle such excessive amounts of booze which could lead to them falling ill, or worse. Additionally, the potential for potential physical and emotional consequences become amplified when the individual is already suffering from alcoholism.
The impact of alcoholism on an individual’s physical health can be seen most noticeably by way of their liver. Excessive, prolonged drinking can cause the liver to become fatty and swollen, leading to liver damage and major health issues. Such consequences include cirrhosis, an irreversible damage to the liver that is usually fatal. Moreover, alcohol may also lead to numerous cardiovascular problems, including high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, and stroke. Other physical consequences can arise from a decrease in sexual libido, weakened bones, and a wide variety of cancers including breast, colon, and liver cancer.
Overall, it is incredibly important that we are cognizant to the dangers of alcohol and understand that it can be dangerous regardless of the occasion. Being aware of our drinking habits and taking the necessary precautions is critical in ensuring that our New Year’s celebrations are memorable for the right reasons. If you are struggling with alcoholism, it is paramount that you seek help and guidance from qualified medical professionals.
So please, live a healthy life, if you are going to drink alcohol do it wisely and please don't drive.
May you have a healthy, prosperous and happy 2023, these are my best wishes to you, from your partner Microreylatos.
True, drinking is a part of the celebrations like the new year. However, it doesn't mean we need to get drunk. I have been sober for decades now though. But on occasions like the New Year, I allow myself to drink a bottle or two of beers.
Happy New year!
