When The Odds Are Stacked Against You I'm sure you must have an idea what the article is going to be about looking at the title. As humans in a world where people are constantly achieving things and having breakthroughs, with the the usual need of validation, acceptance and recognition, we can sometimes feel left behind in this fast moving world. It is inherently human to desire and seek validation, acceptance and recognition, it's just the way we are built. This makes us feel important, it's good for our ego and self-esteem. This usually causes us to pursue some certain goal with the intent that achieving it will help position us in that place where we can have all of these things. It is with this yardstick that we measure success, whether that's okay or flawed will be a conversation for another day altogether. But in a world with limited resources and unlimited human wants, there is an unprecendented level of competition for these limited resources by individuals who want to satisfy their wants, note wants but need and that's a sad thing in itself, another topic for another day too. The most interesting part is those who have been able to satisfy some of their basic wants are better positioned to capture more of the scarce resources to satisfy their secondary and luxurious wants. This makes the competition really hard for those at the lower rungs of the food chain. A situation like this causes those at the end of the food chain to continually remain unsatisfied, even with their basic needs not to mention their secondary wants. This is accompanied by more struggle and striving and constant failing as well. At some point, if you're at the lower rung, it just seems everything is stacked against you. With every failure, a determined person will try again and in this world we are building, probably fail again, no matter what he tries. This leaves us in a situation where the only way out of the mess is to find a breakthrough, and if you believe resources are scarce, breakthroughs are even more scares. **What Is The Way Then?** Well, I can't really say I know, but a few suggestions can be found in the mainstream social and media space, but first here's a story for you. There was a young man whom went digging for gold in a field with his friend. He had been digging for so long and yet he hadn't gotten anything, but his friend on the other hand, having dug not so much found a small chick of gold. The friend was happy and ran home jubilating. The man felt bad and decided that there was nothing for h where he was digging and left to start digging where his friend had dug, unbeknownst to him, there was a mountain of gold just beneath a thin layer of soil where he had been digging. **1. Be purposeful**: There are those who believe that the struggles we face in our everyday lives can be greatly reduced if we can find our purpose and stick with it. This is because, when we find our purpose in life, we feel more passionate about pursuing it and in spite of all, this will keep us motivated towards reaching that finish line. A situation when one doesn't know his purpose will lead to constantly jumping on the next available train and there's every chance you'll be late for each one. Even when the odds seems stack against you, you won't be so demotivated easily. **2. Be consistent**: One key element for success or progress in any human venture is consistency. It will not be easy, never will be, nobody promised you that. Why would you even expect that in this world of limited resources? But if you remain consistent in what you do, over time you will find that you are gradually positioning yourself to be able to milk some of these scarce resources to satisfy your basic and luxurious wants, needs and goals. It's often said ' consistency pays'. **3.Patience**: This is a virtue that goes hand in hand with consistency. Like I said, it won't be easy and for this reason, you need to have the patience and perseverance to keep going and hoping for the best. This is really needed as there are people who have lost their chance by giving up just when they were almost at the end of the tunnel. **Closing Thoughts** There are other qualities needed such as diligence, humility, a grateful heart, a positive attitude etc. From the story of the young man above, you can see that if he had these qualities, he would not have left what could have been his mountain of gold to start digging where his friend had already exhausted the ground. ***Thanks for reading. Special thanks to all who read my articles, my subscribers commmenters, upvoters, and sponsors. You guy are the real MVP and I appreciate all your support.***
Underestimating The Old Man ***Never trespass the house of a blind man whom has never asked for your help - Methion*** This article is actually inspired by one movie I was watching on my way back from work. I'm sure you've probably seen it too. It's worthy of note that I'm not a movie person, but if the movie has some valuable elements (plots, theme, lesson), I do see them or when I'm completely bored. So, in the movie, there's this old blind veteran whom had just lost a daughter in an accident and had received a huge sum as settlement from the rich family of the culprit. There's also three typical 'Hollywood' teenagers;the one with the brain and mastermind, the brute, uncivilized and brawn, as well as the occasional girl child with a drunk of a mother whose jobless and drug addicted boyfriend is also living in with her. This teenager is forced to be responsible for taking care of the family need. Well, these three kids form a crew that carry out well orchestrated and conditioned theft around a deserting neighborhood where the old veteran happens to live. They had been mostly successful because they had a number of codes such as, not stealing cash, not stealing a total that's above $10,000. Having planned on leaving the city for another, they realizthis, hat such small fishing wouldn't cut it. The brawn been the idiot as always suggested they go for the veteran's settlement against the advice of the smart one. They scoped out the old man's area and concluded he was alone, with no neighbors, hence not even a police patrol vehicle will come to the area if things got wrong. The night came and they tried to enter the man's building but to no avail. They finally accessed the building through a window. While they roamed his house in search of his stash, he was asleep until they found a tightly secured door with multiple bolts and lock. Having tried all their usual tools without success, the brawn pulled out a gun the others never even knew he had. Again the smart one tried to tell him bringing again gives the occupant the right to shoot them and that they should leave, but fools will fools. He fired at the bolts and got them open and attended same woke the man up. The smart one tried to leave them behind until he heard a second and a third gunshot, want to guess what happened? The old man did head out to where he heard the shot come from and stumbled upon the other two teenagers who had no clue what to do. Long story short, three minutes later, two shots had been fired, and a person was dead. I'm sure you think it was the old man, but it wasn't. It was the brawn , shot by the old man with the gun he brought. How could that possibly be, you may ask? It's simple really. That's what happens when you underestimate your opponents. We as humans always find ways to make things less hard for us, and one way we have devised is to underestimate the appointment. This opponent could be a person, a problem, a situation, a task, anything really. We look at these things that they are not worth been concerned about even if they are. We have even devised a way to make it look good through inspirational words, telling ourselves things that are not as if they are. I'm not one to speak against hope or faith, but I'm one to also make a case for objectivity, logic, reason and preparedness. **Why Do People Do It And How To Correct It** You might ask, why do people do it, underestimate things? Here are after reasons **Senseless Faith and Hope**: In a world where we have been taught to have faith in ourselves and in God, as well as to hope for the best, people no longer make the effort to objectively analyze what they are getting into, because they have faith that they can do anything ( literally ). When it seem not to be so, they continue on the same path, but this time with hope. This can easily be fixed by having a good dose of objectivity to check one's hope, and a good dose of logic and reason to balance the faith. **Overconfidence**: Having faced a lot of a particular situation, humans have the tendency to start to give it less value and less attention. This is due to the confidence they have in their ability to deal with it. This most times lead to a lack preparedness and proper analysis of the situation at hand. The result is an overconfident individual who's ill-prepared for the coming task. Referring to the story above, they ought to have seen the fact that he was formerly a soldier as a good enough reason not to do this but due to the ease of their other operations and high success rate, they got overconfident. This can be overdosed by always staying humble and believing there's always something different about a situation, something that can be learned. **Lack of information** : Sometimes we underestimate a problem or task because we overestimate our own abilities relative to the challenges that we have to deal with. This is sometimes caused by our lack of adequate information about the situation we're dealing with. We are usually prepared to the extent of what we know and not what we don't. If the kids above had bothered to know about how the old veteran manages to live all by himself without any help whatsoever, i doubt they would have thought twice about burgling his house. Getting adequate amount of information about a potential opponent is a great step towards success of dealing with it. **Overestimating our abilities**: Humans always want to feel good about themselves and one way to do so is for them to always think they are better than most, if not everyone in certain qualities or for some lame ones, all qualities. This is as a result of overestimating one's qualities and ability, and will definitely create an error of equation when been put against a problem, as one will enter the situation with less than he actually believe he has, or less prepared than he thinks he is. All we need to do here is to stay true to ourselves and just know, our limits and accept it that way. Of course we can always seek to be better, but don't put yourself where you are not. **Underestimating the opponent**: We sometimes have all the information we need, but due to human subjective and emotional state, we might not fully appreciate the information we have and this might result in not fully knowing what your opponent is worth or capable of. It is not just enough to get adequate information as stated above, we should learn to be as objective and thorough when analyzing this info and when deciding strategies to deal with it. **Closing Thoughts** These are simply my opinions, I could be wrong, but I really do believe what I've written here. I'm actually yet to finish the movie, I'm going to get back to it now. Good night/morning/noon my friends ***Plenty thanks to all my fans here, I love you guys***
For How Long At the end of the last month, I made a few modest goals for the month of November. The month has come to an end and a review of it shows the following results. **1. Cross The 500 Views Milestone ( and If Possible, Get 1000 Views)** **Verdict: Inconclusive** When I made this goal at the beginning of the month, it was seeming like a really big one, something I might not achieve. Midway through the month I got a notification that my view was now 428. Having seen that, I started thinking this was a goal already achieved, it was just a matter of two or three articles maximum. What I didn't know was what the next two weeks had in store for me; a sh*tload of demotivation and a lot of activities. Due to this fact, I was not able to meet this goal. There's also the possibility that I already have, but the notification just hasn't come, because that has happened to me before. I was at 428views when I got the "I have crossed a 100 views" notification. I figured it might have been a minor glitch, maybe it's repeating itself. **2. Sponsor Five Newbies Like Myself** **Verdict: Not achieved** Due to the massive support that I was getting from this platform in my early days, I promised myself that I was going to do same for other newbies that are newer than myself. I successfully sponsored theree newbies on the platform. I would have met this goal if not for the demotivation that resulted in my long term absence from here . Anyways, this one was very important to me, and I feel quite sad that I wasn't able to. meet it. I apologize to all the new users who would have been potential beneficiary. **3. Attain 10 Sponsors** **Verdict: Achieved** As of the time of making that goal, I had five sponsors, four of which sponsored me on the same day ( that's kind of hard to forget). I was aiming to improve my writing skills enough to catch the attention of at least five other sponsors. Even then I knew it wasn't going to be easy, but as God and my lovely sponsors will have it, I did mange to achieve this goal and surpass it quite well and quite early into the month. In terms of acquisition of sponsorship, I can say it was quite a wonderful month. Thanks to all my lovely sponsors for believing in me, and finding me worthy of your sponsorship, I really appreciate it. Some of these sponsors have been kind to immediately renew their sponsorship as soon as it expired, you have no idea how much that does for my belief in myself and my confidence as a writer here, it really is everything. I love you guys for all the support you do give me. **4. Attain 50-60 Subscribers** **Verdict: Not achieved** At the end of the last month, I had twenty four subscribers. My goal was to write articles worthy enough to help me secure the subscription of at least between 25-30 new subscribers this past month, which would have brought my total number of subscribers to 50-60. This goal although ambitious by the standard of some was looking achievable to me by the second week of November when I realised my subscription number had hit 49. But sadly, that's when all my issues started coming up and painfully I could not move past that number. It was quite painful, because I know other things been equal, I would have hit this target, but I guess that's life **5. One Article Per Day** **Verdict: Not achieved** Well, this one is another story entirely. In the early days of the month I was keeping up and quite frankly, I believed I was going to do it, but to do that I would have to be active which I was not midway through the month. So I can even say I failed in this aspect. **6. Earnings** I didn't make any earning goals because I was afraid Rusty might not visit me and for more than 90% of the month, that's exactly what happened. Everyday I kept hoping he would come, but he didn't. So my earning is quite negligible in itself, but I'm very grateful to all of you guys who made sure I didn't have $0 for the month, by tipping my comments and post, as well as the sponsorship payments, I'm indeed very grateful. **The big question: What now?** Seeing as Rusty has still not visited me, even though my account is almost two months old, what now? Honestly speaking, I want to give up or give this account up. I have tried to stick it out, hoping things will turn out right soon, but that has not been the case. Can I really continue? I honestly don't feel that way, but I also don't want to piss on the confidence you people have put on me, through subscribing to me, the readership, the comments, the invites, the love and support. You people have shown me you believe in me, and I don't want to be the one to not believe in myself, but I really don't know how much longer I can persevere. Am I giving up? I can say no, but I just know it won't be today, it could be tomorrow, could be next, but it's definitely not today. **Thank you guys so very much for all the kindness you're showing me through the readership, the comments, the upvotes, the subscription and sponsorship. I really appreciate you guys.**
Thanks so much @usmanshoaib for the sponsorship renewal. You have always believe in me and supported me, I really appreciate all of it.
Ethereum vs Bitcoincash: A Case In Point Have you ever carried out a transaction on the ethereum blockchain? Well, personally I have not, but I do have a friend that deals in what people have christined **Altcoins** or **shitcoins** and most of the time he does these transactions in hundreds of dollars. The reason been that, these coins have the tendency to pump astronomically, something that makes bitcoin look like a waste of time. I lost have lost count of how many times he has told me he bought a certain coin for say $300, only to pay a gas fee worth around $200 just to transfer it. **Can you believe this sh*t**? Well, that's not what I want to talk about. Lately I have been seeing so much complaints online over the high gas fee on the ethereum network, and you have to wonder what the developers were thinking when they put such a system in place. So, for the past few days, there were talks of a certain organisation called ConstitutionDAO - short for "decentralised autonomous organisation" hoping to participate in the auction of an extremely rare privately-owned copy of the original printing of the US constitution. They would go on to start a fundraiser few days to the auction. Their reason for wanting to buy it was to ensure some sort of public ownership, which was to be dealinated according to the amount of money donated, almost like buying a share of a company on the floor of the stock exchange. The fact that they came together to form the group with such aim few days to the auction in itself meant there was going to be a number of mistakes, to be corrected as they went. Then they did it; they decided to accept the donation in Ethereum! Why they did that, I don't know, as there are multitudes of tokens and coins they could have used. So it was that the donations were made by those interested, a number that ran to 17,437 donors with a median donation of 206.26. This was quite a lot of transactions over a few days, just for one group, not to mention the so many other transactions on the Ethereum network in that time period. My point is which such usage, the demand/supply build(higher bidder wins) system of the Ethereum network must have resulted in quite costly gas fees. According to the BBC "The Ethereum network records its transactions on the blockchain, the same basic technology idea that powers other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, and like Bitcoin mining, it requires computational power to run. "Gas" is the fee paid to those who run the computer systems to facilitate transactions. And it changes price based on supply and demand, that means that at times, it can be much more expensive to make any kind of transaction, depending on how busy the Ethereum network is and the network has recently seen high usage - and high gas prices" If everyone of these poeple were to pay an average of a $100 gas fee per transaction, that will amount to $1.74million in gas fees. Just imagine that! Using $1.7million to transfer what amounted to around $40million. That's not where the drama sets in yet. After participating in the auction and losing to a private investor, they had the responsibility of keeping to their promise to make a refund to everyone who participated in the donation. **The Big Question** It was then it probably dawned on them that there was a question yet to be answered. Who was going to pay the gas fees required for the refund? There was a number of possible solution. Pay the gas fee from the fund and not everybody will get their money in full, or pay some in full and leave the others dry. It was a messy situation. Finally, the decision to have individual donors to pay the required gas fee themselves was reached. Simply put, if I paid $150 dollar to make a $500 donation, I will likely have to pay the same amount just to get the $500 back. That's $300 down the drain. It's quite a laughable situation, but who's checking? Now, if I was using bitcoincash instead, I would have to pay no more than $0.01 as gas fee regardless of the amount I might be donating. Put that against 17,437 donors, you have the total donation gas fee at just $174. That same amount would have easily covered the refund and the total money in the wind as gas fees would have been no more than $350 max. That's so negligible that one guy could have easily just covered for it. In other words, you would have made transactions in the tune of multiples of millions of dollars and it would have cost you a meagre $350. This is simply one of the strength of BCH and why it is better positioned as a crypto that will stand the test of time. I mean, put against each other, the BCH network is faster, cheaper, more scalable, has a better community, better roadmap for mass adoption and more commitment from the developers. The release of the smartBCH sidechain has not made Ethereum case any better as it is doing quite well even in it's early days. Think about it, for how long will people be willing to pay so much for so little value, when they can get it for almost nothing somewhere else, not to mention how the unreasonable charges been one of the reasons cryptocurrencies were made to challenge the world financial system. Most cryptocurrencies today have lost sight of the original intention the crypto world was born as well as even their own individual roadmap. Bitcoincash on the other hand is doing everything to position itself for the realisation of the goal of mass adoption. This we can see in small pockets, but clearly we see the potentials. With the way other tokens and coins are becoming speculative instruments, I have got to say, only BCH and a few other tokens have what it takes to be there in the near and distant future. Thank you guys for constantly engaging with my articles. I really appreciate the likes, comments, invites, subscriptions and sponsorship. I love you guys

Herd Mentality Have you ever asked yourself why dictators are the way they are? Why do these guys feel like it's okay for them to decide for the masses? Well, I have always imagined why it is so. While at it, I realized all dictators have one thing in common; their belief that most humans are both incapable and too mentally lazy to make decisions about their own lives and livelihood. They honestly believe somewhere in their head that humans were meant to serve, hence have no real will or desire of their own, but live for those detailed by their masters. That's a sick way to think of another human being like yourself not to mention a whole nation of people, you might say. Over time, this sick way of viewing humans is beginning to seem not so barbaric. It's a normal occurrence nowadays to see people make decisions either too quickly or too fast, and along that same line of reflection, it's a common occurrence to see people doing something just because it seem like that's what everyone else is doing. This will bring us to the topic at hand, but let me give an instance for proper understanding. In every group of people, there are always three classes: The confident and de-facto leaders of the group The average people who rarely care about anything The worst of the land and those who want to be relevant Of these three groups, the mantle of leadership always certainly fall on those in the first category, no matter the method used in the selection of the leaders of the group in question. However the title of leadership usually fall to either group one or group three. Group two usually are satisfied been just there without much acknowledgement. Most successful groups, say country for example, are those in which both the mantle and title of leadership fall on members of group one, while the most chaotic and least developed nations of the world are places where the mantle of leadership sometimes fall on the third group, but the title almost certainly fall on them too. People in the first group usually have minds of their own and can make objective sound decisions when it is needed of them. These kind of people are goal oriented. But sadly, with the rate at which the world is moving, we are having less and less of this group every year. People in group two on the other hand, usually have a faulty mindset and this reflect in their way of life as well as everything they do. They are also the group that finds fault and failure in everything done by other people in charge, unless they are the ones running things. These group tend to be oppositional and negatively vocal concerning everything. The people in group two as we have said are pretty docile. These group of people are mentally lazy and physically absent. They are quite okay with people making all the decisions that will direct their life and due to this, they usually have the **Herd Mentality**. This is the group in which majority of humans fall into. According to https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/herd-mentality&ved=2ahUKEwiz69SWuar0AhUKKewKHTs2AokQFnoECEoQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1HuSZQRXZAKaFInVnf0y30 "**Herd mentality** is defined as an inclination to act in the same way as most other people in one's group or society". This decision is mostly based on emotions rather than reason or objectivity. The Herd mentality is at the core of what we term today as peer pressure. Due to the inability to make decisions for ourselves, the tendency to follow the path of any group we find ourselves becomes very appealing. We see it everyday in the choices people make daily, be it about what to say, how to say it, what to wear, shopping behavior, religious affiliation, career choices etc. This results from an individual being influenced by a larger group. https://www.webmd.com/mental-health/what-is-a-mob-mentality, In the 1950s, researchers conducted a famous conformity experiment that showed how readily people conform or change their behavior to match social norms. It involved: A single participant was put in a room with seven undercover accomplices. Asch presented the group with four lines, and the goal was to determine which two lines were the same length. Even though the answer was obvious, the undercover accomplices purposefully gave an incorrect answer. The real participant answered last. The intent of the experiment was to see if the real participant would give a false answer — conforming with the accomplices — even if the correct answer was clear. The results were surprising. About one-third of the real participants answered incorrectly. They conformed to the wrong answer given by the rest of the group. **Why Did They Do it?** When the participants heard the incorrect answer, some started to believe the incorrect answer was actually correct. The participants conformed mainly because they wanted to fit in with the rest of the group and thought the rest of the group was more informed than they were. The one-third participants who fell for the bait can be simply identified in group two. The problem with this whole herd mentality thing is, people who have it tend to follow people who are loudest, most confrontational and assertive; and people who fit this description are usually in group three. This makes for bad decisions and direction for the majority, something we see playing out today. **How Can You Tell?** There are some known signs of herd mentality as outlined by https://www.webmd.com/mental-health/what-is-a-mob-mentality 1.Optimism disregarding risks (feeling invulnerable) 2. Frequent rationalization of dissenting opinions 3.The belief that the group’s moral standards should apply to all people 4 Self-censorship to maintain the status quo 5.Belief in the illusion that everyone is on the same page This problem can be tackled by a number of ways such as, learning to make decision for oneself, learning to accept people's disagreement ( agree to disagree ), do not deny bias when you notice them in your decisions or dealing, instead acknowledge them and try to rectify them. **Conclusion** This problem is causing serious harm among the populace today especially among youths where peer pressure is causing majority of our youths into things that are damaging to their future. The sooner we do the little we can by helping that boy or that girl to learn to think for him/herself, the better for the future we hope to leave for our kids

When It's Not Your Call ***It is he that wears the shoe that knows where it pinches - Nigerian Proverb*** It's not a goal, it's not a goal, it's a handball, it's a free kick, it's a goal, clean goal!..... Are you confused just yet? You should be. This was the chaos that ensued during one of the very few controversial moments in the football match I refereed three days ago. Still isn't making sense? Let me give you the background story. In my university, any agriculture-related programme runs for a period of five years. So, in my faculty ( faculty of agriculture, University of Benin ), we have twelve approved departments, but only six operational ones due to limited space, resources and funding. So the six operational ones are as follows, **Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries** **Management**, department of soil science and land management, department of crop science and crop protection, department of animal science and production, department of forestry and wildlife and my least favorite, department of agricultural economics and extension. All of these programmes are two in one due to limited resources like I said before, but during the fifth year, we are made to choose our degree options, so it's still seem like the twelve approved departments are functional. So, during the fourth year of study, we embark on field practical training for the entire session, regardless of the department as long as it is,from faculty of agriculture. Field practical training is about getting hands-on practical experience of all we have been learning in the three preceding years. So, every 400Level class, also casually called FPT ( field practical training ) class, usually organizes a football tournament where the six departments play against each other using any format they do agree on. This year we decided that each team will play two matches, from there, the top four will advance to the semi-final and so on. So, my department had its first match against the department of agricultural economics and extension team on Monday and it ended a 0 - 0 scoreline. Other matches had been played before Wednesday; been yesterday but the AEE team was having their second match that Wednesday afternoon and I was to officiate the match. A loss for them would effectively leave their chance to advance in the hands of my team, which is not a good place to be, seeing as we are quite the underdogs. So, on the chosen day, I tried to be as impartial and careful as I could do as not to come across as trying to manipulate the outcome to remove pressure from my team that will be playing later today. But as much as I tried, a few light controversies were still trying to pop their ugly head and I kept managing the situation until a very uncomfortable and uneasy one arose. The thing was, there had been a tussle for the ball between the ANS team's striker and the AEE goalie and it resulted in the ball going into the net. My view of the whole situation wasn't quite clear. While the ANS were claiming it was a goal, the AEE team contested that it was a handful that got the ball over the line. A goal against the AEE team would help my team someway, so I had to resolve the situation without seeming partial. I did eventually call the goal, after properly scrutinizing the situation as much as I could and it would happen to be the decider of the match. So, what's the big deal? After I got home that day, I kept thinking about the whole thing and it dawned on me how easy it is to make decisions when you are actually not responsible for them, how easy it is to come up with what we assume are the right calls when there's someone else at the helm of affairs. It funny to see us trivialize the effort of our leaders, and bastardize their decisions, thinking we know better when we are simply on the outside and do not even understand the half of the situation. I kept thinking how easy it was for the people outside the field and the players in the field (whose conclusion wouldn't matter) to come to a what they thought was a definite and the true conclusion, even though they were asking different as their faces were different. Myself on the other hand, who had the responsibility and power to make a binding decision found it hard to conclude. The question I asked myself was why? Why? The truth I learnt that day was that it's so easy to criticize people from the outside when we don't even know half the things that go into the decision making process of people who are on the inside and charged with making these decisions. We fault our leaders and see almost only the wrong they do, without knowing the limitations they face and have to deal with why trying to make the best decisions for everyone. This evening became clearer when I remembered that just before the match I officiated, I was seeing so many wrong with the decisions of the referee officiating the match player before the one I officiated, but when I had the job, I made more than half of all the mistakes he made while I was sitting there and crucifying him. The interesting part is, at the moment of making those calls in the field, I was 100% convinced it was the right call and it was then it seemed on me that the last official did do his best and was also truly convinced he was making the right call. Conclusion It is often said in Nigeria that "it is he that wears the shoe that knows where it pinches". The simple translation is that "you will never fully understand a thing until you are in a position to experience it"; " you will never understand the rationale behind a decision until you face those same circumstances and have to do the decision making". ***Bottom line is, why we ought to check our leaders, because that's the chief feature of democracy, we ought to have empathy and be kind in our ways of doing it. We should try to be as informed about a situation as possible, before we criticize people, and if we have to, we should do something constructively.*** Thanks for always reading my articles. I love you guys

The Minner's Fallacy Part II It had been a month since the incident with Temi at the school library. Jimi and Kayode were about to go chill out for the night at Seismic Lounge and Bar, with their course mate Daisy when Kayode's phone chirped. It was a message from Temi; Kayode quickly opened it and with a worried look on his face announced, she needs my help. Who needs your help? Daisy asked. Kayode hesitated to answer and Jimi got the hint, with a ball of anger raging in him, he walked away, disappointed in the fact that his friend after all that time still hadn't gotten over Temi. ***Note: This is a continuation of the Miner's fallacy part I. If you haven't read it, you can find it here:*** https://read.cash/@Methion/the-minners-fallacy-406ae667 Kayode entered his car and drove off towards the location sent to him by Temi, while disappointed and embarrassed, Daisy headed home. It wasn't long before Kayode arrived at the Jailand Hotel, hoping to come be the knight in shining armour for the crush of his life ( if only he knew ). As he made to enter the lobby through the front door, it rained on him, Temi standing on the second floor rained wine on him and out of nowhere people popped out laughing, pointing and taking photographs of him. When he could manage to wipe it off his face and look up, he saw Femi passing quite a few bunches of banknotes to her, obviously her reward for quite the show. Humiliated for life, kayode turned to head for his car, and on getting there realized he had multiple flat tires and a damaged windshield at the back. Unsure of the best line of action, he just kept walking, hoping to get as far from this mess as possible. After five minutes of walking, a car rolled by and in there was his friend Jimi who had come to pick him up. Fearing the words that he expected from Jimi, he kept walking away and Jimi came from behind him ' cut it out, enough man, get in the darn vehicle, you are trending on all social media platforms and every blog with more than two subscribers' he said. As he sat in the vehicle, Jimi looked at him, shook his head and said, "***indeed love is blind***". "What do you mean you love him? What is wrong with you, can't you see he loves another? He doesn't even notice you? He has beautifully sister-zoned you. He will never look at you that way, so for goodness sake, get past him and give some reasonable guy a chance" Caudilia said. What about that scholar, ermm, what's his name again? Yes! Adeyemi, she continued. Abeg, forget that one, he's not my type, replied Daisy. Ok, madam bend down and select, na guys wey nor dey look you at all, na be your type. What does he have to offer you self, na you know oo. Grrrrh grrrrh! Grrrrh grrrh, Dasiy's phone rang. Hello Kayode boo, how far na? You just forget your girl for one side. I have been busy these past two weeks, it's not like I meant to neglect you, Kayode replied. I called to apologize, again; for the way I ditched you guys the last time we were supposed to get together, and I want to make it up to you guys. What do you say to a evening at the Greenland water park, hmm? He continued. I don't know, do you plan on ditching us for your favorite girl, only to go get yourself humiliated again? She asked. Come on Daisy, don't take us back there. I needed a month worth of therapy to get over that incident, abeg. I promise no such thing will happen, he replied. Fine, as long as it's a weekend, count me in. You are such a fool, you know. Why are you punishing yourself like this? He will never be into you and following him to a thousand outings won't change that. You're too good for him anyways, said Sarah as she walked out of the room. That's it guys, how do you think the story ends? Do they get to make it to their planned weekend outing or does something spontaneous or tragic occur? You can drop your thoughts in the comment section. I hope you guys are not mad that the stories usually end like this, I promise I'll write one with a proper ending soon! Thanks for reading! Plenty of thanks to all you guys who make my time on read.cash enjoyable. I appreciate all my readers, comments, up voters, subscribers and sponsors. I love you guys..

I am so sorry for not interacting much. As you must know, my phone really is bad. I am struggling to read articles at all because I don't want my account to be spammed after losing my last two accounts. I will try to post every now and then from a borrowed phone, I hope you guys understand...
Smartphone Addiction Good morning my read.cash family. Lately I have been interacting not so much on this platform even though I still read and comment on at least thirty articles daily. A lot of you might have wonder why, thinking maybe I probably gave up, but that's not the case. I have really been busy, added to the power issues we have been having in my area, this has been the reason for my reduced activeness as well as missing to post articles daily. This has been compounded by the damage done to my phone yesterday where I went to charge it, consequently I might take a leave from the platform or be minimally active as I can not afford the repair right now ( or anytime soon if I am to be honest ). Hope you guys won't miss me much, whichever it comes to? Let me not bore you further tho; to the business of the day. Have you ever being in a situation where you are really hungry and there's nothing to eat? You definitely did everything in your power to get food and when that failed, you must have done something unconventional or even illegal like stealing just to satisfy that hunger. Why? Survival; self-preservation. You needed it to preserve your life. Now, have you ever been in a situation where your phone was down and you couldn't get a place to charge despite doing everything in your power? We all probably have. While some would probably just give up, others would do unconventional things like enter the room of that neighbor they have been avoiding, or go to the house of that boy ( some people will understand😂 ) because he has generator. Why? Because they somehow feel feel their phone is important to their survival. The truth is, the phone is not that important. What we are seeing here is what I will be calling smartphone addiction. You might ask, is that really a thing? Yes, smartphone addiction is really a thing and it is more common than you can possibly think; you probably have it too. To fully get this concept, let's break it down; **Addiction** According to https://www.healthline.com/health/addiction#types, "An addiction is a chronic dysfunction of the brain system that involves reward, motivation, and memory. It’s about the way your body craves a substance or behavior, especially if it causes a compulsive or obsessive pursuit of “reward” and lack of concern over consequences". While The American Society of Addiction Medicine defines addiction as “a treatable, chronic medical disease involving complex interactions among brain circuits, genetics, the environment, and an individual's life experiences. People with addiction use substances or engage in behaviors that become compulsive and often continue despite harmful consequences.” Smartphone **Addiction** Smartphone addiction refers to the obsessive usage of a smartphone. This is also known as nomophobia; the fear of being without a mobile phone. This obsessive usage derives from the constant improvement of the capabilities and functionality of smartphone. As smartphone are being upgraded to take over the job and task of different other things in our everyday living, our department on it increases everyday. A critical look will reveal that smartphones are basically designed to be constantly used by the owners and this would be fine if it didn't cause any harm, but it does, hence they are almost inherently addictive. Signs And **Symptoms** According to https://www.psychguides.com/behavioral-disorders/cell-phone-addiction/signs-and-symptoms/ , the signs and symptoms of smartphone addiction includeusage constant need to use a smartphone more frequently 2. The loss of awareness of time due to phone usage 3. An insatiable desire for the newest phone, software, application and utilization 4. Any effort made to limit the usage of smartphone usually fails 5. Preoccupation with smartphone use. 6. Withdrawal, when cell phone or network is unreachable, demonstrated in forms of: Anger. Tension. Depression. Irritability. Restlessness. 7. During time of negative feelings, they resort to using or spending time with their phone. Effects of Smartphone Addiction According to https://www.addictioncenter.com/drugs/phone-addiction/ Phone addiction can lead to: Sleep deficit Lower concentration Creativity blocks Aggravated ADD Anxiety Reduced cognition Stress Loneliness Insecurity Impaired relationships Poor grades Psychological disorders *An honest assessment of our phone habits will show that majority of us have smartphone addiction to varying degrees. Please for the sake of all things good, check it. I will be writing another article on how to check and control it.* **Thanks for reading**.. **Thank you to all my readers, commenters, upvoters, subscribers and sponsors. I really appreciate you guys**

I am so distraught right now. Due to the electricity issue, I had to look for a place to charge and left my phone there to go and attend to some other business, but by the time i got back , it had been damaged by someone. This is the second time in a space of six weeks that my phone has been damaged and it hurts cos due to my other financial obligations, I can't even afford to think of fixing it. This is just so bad!!
I am so sorry guys for not interacting enough lately. I have been unwell and at the same time, I have been very busy, not to mention that I have been having elected issues recently. Please bear with me guys. I will make up to you guys as soon as possible. I also want to use this, opportunity to thank all my subscribers who haven't left me despite my pseudo-absence, my wonderful sponsors who have had my bsck through this journey, my readers, commenters and upvoters who make it all worth the while, I say thank you all. I love you guys
The Minner's Fallacy She barged into the room and threw the her bag accross the room, almost hitting Tolulope in the eyes. Hey stupid, watch it or I am gonna shove it up your ass, Tolulope said. You look very pissed, not the kind of expression I was expecting whem you return from a date with "the handsome, hottest guy in town" and you seem not to have brought anything with you. Na so we dey do am na abi? Solade asked. Can you imagine that guy? Who does that? Oh my, I am so livid right now. That guy had the guts to take me to mat-ice, not even coldstone, mat-ice!! I kept my cool thinking, this is just the opening, you know like an appetiser. After one bowl of ice cream that he took forever to finish, we left and I was waiting to hear where we were heading for the date, that was when this fool opened his silly mouth and asked me where I wanted him to drop me off. Babe, look me na, full specs, am I that cheap now or does this guy take me for a joke? Temi ranted.. Seriously? I thought that guy was financially potent, or was he not the same guy you went out with last two weeks? Wonders shall never end. Hope you gave him a dress down? said Sarah. Trust me na. I gave him a piece of my mind enough for him to know the kind of girls at his level the next time he sees one, replied Temi. Guy, I don't get it, what did I do wrong? We went to Mat-Ice to get some ice cream and I notice how she was so self-aware and absentminded at the same time despite all my effort to engage her and make our time there worthwhile, but she wouldn't bulge. If i didn't know better, I would say she was either uncomfortable to be there or to be seen with me. I decided to get her out of there and take her home, that's when she exploded and said all kinds of insulting, demeaning, and mean words to me before she stumped away. I am still trying to process my wrong, Kayode told Jimi. Jimi being a child of the world had already figured out the problem, but chose to be soft on his friend, fearing he might not be able to handle the truth. That's just the way girls are, they can be quite volatile and unpredictable, he said. Kayode spent the rest of his day and the entire night brooding over the incident. Three days later, while driving out from the parking lot of the campus library, Kayode caught sight of Temi walking on the other side of the road; eager to apologise for the awry date and get back in her good grace, he quickly took a turn around and drove towards her with such speed, you would think the world was about to experience an apocalypse. With a screeching sound, he stopped right before her, she looked at the Toyota Camry and kept walking when she noticed it was him. He kept driving alongside her, explaining and pleading, but she would have none of it. While he was still at it, a Range rover stopped right ahead of his car, with the occupant whistling at her, hey beautiful, came the voice of a young man. She quickly leaned over the door of the vehicle and replied with a full smile, hello. You going somewhere, let me drop you off, he asked? Okay, she said as she opened the door to the front seat and hurriedly jumped in. Kayode couldn't believe it, he was devastated and ashamed. To add insult to his injury the young man winked at his own side mirror as he caught the eyes of Kayode. Kayode wanted the ground to open it's mouth and swallow him. `This is just a tip of the iceberg, there is more to come. I wouldn't miss out if i were you!` Thanks for reading!
I Give Up A lot of you guys, my lovely readers must already know by now that this is not my first read.cash account. The account I opened when I was referred by @Kushyzee was doing great despite not having been visited by the Rusty for over three weeks. I kept on doing the needful, writing, and interacting as much as possible until I noticed that all my comments were showing "low score comment or spam". As I was still a noob, I asked @Kushyzee and he told m, I had been spammed, trust me when I say you can barely imagine my pain. It might have really hurt but I wasn't going to give up, hence I opened a new account and started from scratch; putting so much effort, hoping to recover lost ground. It was one of my happiest day of the year when rusty visited my first article. I was related and finally rejoiced that things were going the way I had envisaged. Little did I know that this seeming joy was going to be fleeting. Not long after, i realized i stopped earning and soon i was spammed again. Now I ask you, what would you do if you were me? A lot of people would give up and a lot of people will continue using the account hoping they might probably get unspammed and then some might open a third account! By now you know the category I chose. The pain was unbearable as I thought I had made a lot of progress on that account but little did I know that fate had other plans. I opened another account, which is the one I'm currently writing with and after two Weeks it has also been spammed again! Gotcha, I'm just kidding. Well in those two weeks, I gave it my all and after two weeks of grinding, Rusty paid his first visit. The incidents with my past accounts has prevented me from total happiness as a part of my mind is secretly preparing for the spamming eventuality. After visiting a number of my articles with about 12 hours in between each visit, I noticed that in the past 3 days that gets had not visited at all. At first my heart raced and i think it skipped a beat cos I thought my nemesis had caught up with me. The last time all of this happened I had to say goodbye to my hard work and progress and start anew. What I did wrong still remains history and I can't quite fathom what I did to deserve as of this. Having thought about all these, I have come to the concluding conclusion; I give up! Yea you heard that right, I give up! That was what I thought until i thought to visit a particular telegram group where I asked @happyboy what was happening to my account and told me that it is a norm, in the sense that it has happened to almost every writer on this platform at one time or the other. After all said and done, I still give up!! I give up but this time not on Rusty but on my sense of entitlement, not on read.cash, but on my thinking that every article of mine deserves to be rewarded, not on the people who believe in, but on my self-centeredness. All of us have multiple motivation for being here and I have never made a secret of the fact that my number one motivation is the reward, but now I see that if I keep holding that thought, it will simply depress me and force me to leave this platform. I am going to rearrange my priorities and send the reward to the tail end of the list. I am going to enjoy my time here with or without tips!!
The Letter Series: A Letter To The Dead As sad as it was for me, you still had to leave. Despite that is a letter, I'm really not in the mood for opening formalities because the hurt that came with your demise runs deep. I still think you're heartless to leave the way you did and to crown it all you no longer pick up when I call. I can't help but feels so emotional in this note I'm writing to you. Having these emotions sort of defeats the purpose of this note but what can I do, these surges of emotions in me seem to have a mind of their own. How hard I've tried to suppress them for so long. Leaving me without a notice at all gave them the invite to my perfect world and since then they've never failed to come uninvited like they are doing now. I know I said no formalities but I can't help but ask how you are? This isn't me being curious as to how it is over there but this is me trying to let you know that this place is far better than the way it was when you left. Maybe I'm right or maybe I'm not. This might just be rage talking so maybe I should stop. For long I've tried to see the positive side of your demise and as I try harder it just gets more difficult to ration out anything positive or worthwhile. They seem to be all negative. Tell me what's positive in you leaving without telling me, what's good about not saying goodbye, what's good about wishing you were here but you're not. Nothing, nothing at all. For the first few months, I thought you had gone away on your usual work trip that I'd see you again. I wrote down things I'd tell you when you returned so I wouldn't forget about them. Everyone thought was going crazy but I ignored them all and held on to my belief that you were coming back. That child who was weak has grown up and reality has dawned on me that you were gone for good. How I wished you were here to share these moments with me, give me words of wisdom like any adult would, be the perfect shoulder for me to lean on when I've got things going wrong. Like I said how I wish. If wishes could come true I would definitely wish you back. I'd forsake all the riches in the world, all the fame and glory, all the beautiful and biggest desires there are, that's how bad I want you back. I guess I was a lair when I said there was nothing good about you leaving. It has made me stronger and has given me a different approach to life. Made me grow up and take responsibility as quickly as I could. It made me think a lot and write a lot, at least now I owe this over active imagination and good writing skills to you. If its true that you can take care of me from beyond then I think that's good. I could use a lot of care right now. These times are rough and it would be nice to have an assured protector from above. At least now I can get into fights and know that I'd come out unbeaten. Don't worry I won't be fighting though. I'm good! I know you can see me but I can't see you. Frankly I know nothing about how your new world operates. All we know here are speculations that do not seem proved. So if you ever have the time to reply me, I'd like to know how your world is. Do you eat over there, do you sleep? Really do let me know, you'd make my day. Are there rivers in your world, I'm asking because I've taken a liking to creatures of the water. The dynamics of their survival baffles me. Seeing them move in water just brings me such joy and it has a way of lightening my mood. You're excited for me right? I would have sent you pictures but I didn't know if you'd want to see. Maybe when you do reply me and I find out if you like it, I'd consider sending you a picture of those fishes in my next letter. Not that I'm guaranteeing you that they would be a next one but just keep your fingers crossed as there might be. As much I would like to talk to you all day, I've got things to catch up with. I don't know if you get busy at your end but here its from one task to another. Even sleep is almost becoming work. Since we will all die one day, don't hesitate to start paving the way for me. Don't even think I'm coming now, won't happen. But I guess I'll see you one day even though that day is still far. Don't forget a grand welcome please, add that to the list. The rest is up to you. Until I decide to write something else to you, stay whatever way you guys stay in your world. Bye for now. A big thank you to all my readers, upvoters, commenters, subscribers and sponsors. Special thanks goes to @BCHouseVE , @Bloghound , @Fexonice11, thanks for the sponsorship and for believing in me. I won't let you down

Some Contempt For The Leaders 1 Good evening my read.cash family. How are you guys doing? Had a good day, I suppose?, I certainly hope so. My day was pretty routine; wake up, get ready for school, supposed to receive a class that never held, work the farm and headed home at about noon time. I have been on battery saver mode since, both my phone and I; my phone as a result of @Mhizutty taking my charger home and myself as a result of lack of resources to cook😂😂. Well, she has generously brought my charger and someone is generously cooking something that I can eat from, God be praised😂 **Blind man nor dey lead blind man - Unknown** Ever so often we see people in leadership position crucified by those they lead for their style of leadership, "lack of achievement" etc. This is something that we see in all form of leadership setting, be it a democracy, autocracy, monarchy or what have you. Those in power have to face these kind of criticism on a daily basis everywhere they go, in their presence and absence, despite how they might feel about it and most at times, they learn to live with it ( learning to live with it is quite different for different leaders. A democratically elected official will either try to see the problem or ignore it, a monarch will ignore it or have the person from whom the criticism is coming punished, while an autocrat will most likely have the person executed by firing squad or have them whooped in public😂). Most at times, especially in the developing and underdeveloped world, these criticism comes in the form of unintelligently harsh words that causes one to wonder if the intent is to educate the person it is direct at to do better, or to insult and humiliate the person. Howbeit, most times these people are not really deserving of those harsh words, as the thing(s) in question might be beyond them or the resource available, and sometimes could be the fault of those whom they have delegated duties to, but I guess at the end of the day, the buck falls on their table. For example, Nigeria as a country is technically at war with bandits and terrorists, and today people blame the inadequacy of the federal government to deal with it. But some will argue that the President has made available to the military and their Chiefs all the necessary war platforms, equipment, and weapons; nonetheless the terrorists and bandits continue to have a field day every single day. These people will argue that it is the military Chiefs who are at fault, and not the President, an argument that their opponents will quickly counter by saying it's his responsibility to appoint and remove them when the need arises as is the case right now. This attitude of wanting to criticise leaders whether necessary or not, is quite partly responsible for the recurrent incident of electing defective leaders into offices just because they just want the current one gone. It's a stupid case of "the angel you don't know is better than the devil you do know" and quite sadly a flawed mentality. This has constantly being the bane of development in a lot of organisations and nations as people who know what to do are removed because of the price at which the needed improvement are going to be attained, and replaced by those who know nothing about what they are going to be handling. The result of such an arrangement is that of a clueless person leading the bunch to failure and makimg an already bad situation far worse. The reason I started thinking about this whole thing is because I see it happen everyday at my school's experimental farm and it was 100% responsible for the colossal failure of my group's fisheries project yesterday. Now we are going to have to spend money ( that I don't have ) to do it all over again and it hurts to know this could easily have been avoided if the right people were allowed to handle the whole thing. **Closing Thoughts** This is also applicable to a lot of leadership position, where the appointment of clueless people cause things to get worse and at the end of the day, everybody suffers!! It is a sad reality of our time. All images are from Unsplash

A Memoir Of An African Child Loosely based on true event. There is a beautiful dream hidden behind a child. I wasn’t born with one. Quite frankly, I am a product of a sex gone wrong. People often say “family is everything”. In as much as they strike a point, they forget that some of us never had that luxury. This is how it all started. My mother had an unwanted pregnancy with a man (my dad). Beautiful, right? My father being a responsible man met her parents. Miss Josephine, my mom was just eighteen years, at the time. Hmmm.. Joshua, my father was in his mid twenties. After a long journey from Lagos to Delta state to meet his in-laws. He didn’t exactly get the hospitality he had fantasied. When my father had explained the reason for his visit, my grandma gave him a dirty slap. The hostility grew hotter and hotter. My father being a typical African man couldn’t let it slide. His temper always got the best of him. My mother hid behind the door and watched the whole saga. She ran after him and begged but it proved futile. That was the last time anyone ever saw my dad. My mother tried to keep in touch, but he cut all ties with her. To him, the slap was too much an insult. Can you imagine? Nine months later, my mother birthed a girl (Me). As I grew, I saw the pain nurtured in my mother’s eyes. She said I reminded her of my father. At seven, I was made to never call her, “ Mother, ” I addressed her as “Sister”. My grandma was very loving. She adorned me dearly. As for my mom, the worse happened when she got involved with a Northerner, Mallam Musa. He had two sons and a daughter. They got all serious and marriage happened. My mom has never smiled at me. Even when I got compliments, she gave me a disgusting stare. We never had the mother-to-daughter relationship. When grandma asked if I would like to live with her in Kaduna with her husband, I agreed out of fear. Kaduna was my hell. The Muslim family ensured I settled in just fine. The boys turned my head into a drum. I became an errand girl for the whole community and my mom said nothing. Although, I stilled called her sister. I needed a mother so badly. I attended Kaduna state primary school. I became a nuisance not just to the school but the community. I resorted to transferring my aggression on my juniors. Kaduna was another world. On a fateful Friday, Mallam Musa came back from the mosque angry. What he vomited looked like an order to my mum. He wanted me to become a Muslim. I was hoping my mother would object but she smiled over it. The next market day, I found an hijab lying by me. I needed not be told. My name was changed from Anita to Mariam. I flaunt my hijab wherever I went. And followed my fellow Muslim sisters to learn from an imam. I was a child burning from the inside. The worse happened when my imam wanted me for a wife and my mother called to seek my opinion. Oh! Sorry, I had no say. Hence, it was to get me prepared. I was just nine years for God sakes. I got tired, frustrated and I wanted out. Luckily, my mother gave me an amount to make a deposit. It was the perfect opportunity. I took a neighbor’s phone and called my uncle that I was coming to Abuja. One thing was certain; my mind was made up. I boarded a bus to Zuba— a place situated on the fringes of Abuja. My uncle was already waiting for me at the bus stop. He was excited to see me. My uncle, Mr. James was a wealthy man. He worked at CBN (Till date). He placed a call to my mother and grandma. He was very kind to me. It felt like when I became too comfortable; life had something in store for me. Mr. James took care of me but when it was time to change the names on my certificate. I replaced them with my real father’s name. An act that pissed Mr. James of, enough for him to send me back to my grandma’s… If only my uncle had told me to use his name, I would. I never even met the vagabond that called himself my father. At the time, my grandma was in Lagos, Mile 12. I assisted her in selling sachet water on the busy road. It was terrible. The little peaches on my chest suffered in the hands of men. All in name of selling water. After years of savaging the streets, my father showed up one day. Since my mother cared less about me. It was easy for him to take me. I became 20 years before I got reunited with him. He was with a wife and two children— a boy and a girl. I am currently undergoing a program at Ambrose Alli University.

Plenty of thanks to my latest sponsor @Bloghound. Thanks so much for believing in me, I promise not to let you down
Will You Toss? Hey my read family. How are you guys? Doing great I hope? I was actually supposed to write this yesterday, but it was such a hectic and stressful day. @Gaiom , @Mhizutty, @Kushyzee and I left for school at about 7:30am and came back 7:30pm, all stressed, hungry and quite wasted. In the midst of all that stress though, I still made sure I interacted with almost every single article on my notification bar. Interestingly, all of these stress was as a result of a fish hybridization practical my group had to do. We did manage to do an excuse of an activity in it's place, but we won't know how much success we have until at least another 24hrs, although we could know that easily this morning if it turns out to be a complete disaster, in which case there will be no single hatchling. Getting back to the substance of this article, we were in school two days ago when @Gaiom asked me a question; the question goes thus; You are given two options. One is for you to be given an assured tax-free $2000, the second one is that you're given a chance to toss a coin, if you get head, you get an assured tax free $2 million, but if you get tail, you get nothing at all. His question was, will you toss? I didn't even have to think about it for long to come to a conclusion knowing fully well I live in a country where $2000 wouldn't wouldn't give you a life-changing experience. Don't get me wrong, $2000 is a whole lot of money in itself, but there are reasons why it may never come tops despite assured over the chance to gamble for $2 million. When converted to my country's currency ( the Naira ), it will amount to around #1,000,000. That might seem like a lot of money and it would be if you were still in the year 2015, but sadly we can't travel back in time yet. When put against the daily/monthly financial obligations of the average Nigerian, it start looking like it's not a lot, because due to the constantly increasing inflation, cost of living and those other econometrics, this amount of money will do no more than serve the concurrent expenditure of the average Nigerian for anytime between a month - three months. It is worthy of note, that the average Nigerian always find a way to survive and meet these concurrent financial obligations, hence the impact of such a decision to not toss snd take the $2000 will most likely be temporal. With this amount, if you were an employee, you would remain an employee ( except you are really really wise and intentional about your life) On the other hand, if I do toss the coin, I might get nothing or I get $2 million , which when converted will afford me #1,000,000,000. With this amount of money, an average Nigerian will be set for life, even if he/she was a good for nothing lazy person. With such financial resources at one's disposal, a lot of capital expenditure in the form of acquisitions, establishment of businesses, investing in one form or the other. These huge amount of financial resource will definitely move you from an employee to an employer and investor. All of this went into my decision making factory to produce what was my answer. You want to guess; nothing to guess here as the article quite seem to outline what I will probably favour, and you're right, I chose to toss the coin. For me, it was quite a zero-sum game, after all they did say "go big or go home"😂😂. Having chosen to toss, that led me to start thinking, if logic were to prevail, the reasonable thing to do would be to take the 100%, no condition attached $2000, but somehow I chose to gamble for the $2,000,000 knowing fully well, there's a 50% chance I go home with nothing at all. The question is why would I do that, I mean gamble instead of assured? I think we all know the answer, but I will leave that for part two of this article. Now, I ask you my lovely readers, commenters, up voters, sponsors and subscribers, **will you toss**? Special recognition and thanls to my new sponsor @MJAYTECH Thank you so much for believing in me.
This is What I want Good morning my lovely read family. I hope you slept well and you're having a nice day? I certainly hope so. Well, as I believe regardless of what timezone you are in, you must have entered into the new month and on that note I wish you a very happy and prosperous new month here on read.cash as well as in your life generally. How was you October? I hope it was fruitful? As is the tradition, people have been posting articles about how productive the month of October was for them here on read.cash as well as noise.cash. I have been fighting the urge to do same(mine might serve the opposite of what others are serving😂). The month of October wasn't exactly great for me ( I couldn't say bad, there's power in the tongue, right? ). As most of you, my very generous readers know, in the month of October, I had my first account here on read.cash spammed and my second as well. It wasn't an easy experience to bear but I managed to keep going. I created this new account and it has been active for less than two weeks, and I am still trying to get my feet on the ground. Maybe if I was still working with my first account, I would have had something to write as testimonial, but it is what it is. A new month has begun and despite all, I still dare to believe that this month will be greater and far better than last month ( A guy can hope, right?). Although I am relatively new, I think it proper to outline a few light goals in the spirit of keeping with tradition here on this platform. Thus here are my goals for the month of November, goals that I hope you, my dearly beloved readers, commenters, upvoters, subscribers and sponsors will help me achieve. 1. Cross The 500 Views Milestone ( and If Possible, Get 1000 Views) In the time I have been on this platform thus far, I think my total views is somewhere around 150 views. I hope to increase this number and reach as well as surpass the 500 views milestone. I don't knowcwhat the future holds, but if I were to get to that mark, aiming for the 1000 views won't be wrong, would it now?😂 2. Sponsor Five Newbies Like Myself One of the things i love the most about this platform is the overwhelming support that the people who have spent some time give to the newbies. The love is plenty and real and goes a very long way in encouraging the new writers even before they get noticed by the bot. This support is given in different forms such as upvotes on articles and comments, sponsorship, helpful tips on hospitality to navigate and succeed on the platform. I don't know about others, but I find it quite amazing considering nobody owes anybody any of these things. It's for this same reason I am going to strive to do same and sponsor at least 5 newbies ( who I be to dey sponsor the senior men and women for this platform😂😂). I might still be relatively new and not earning anything tangible to do this, but I believe in the bot, but especially on you guys, my read.cash to help me achieve this one through your interactions with my articles. 3. Attain 10 Sponsors As of the time of writing this post, I had five sponsors, four of which sponsored me on the same day ( that was one memorable day ). My target for the month concerning sponsorship is to up my writing skills enough to at least impress additional five new sponsors. I would also like to use this opportunity to acknowledge and give a resounding thank you to all my wonderful sponsors. Thank you for believing in me, and finding me worthy of your sponsorship, I really appreciate it. 4. Attain 50-60 Subscribers At the end of the month, I had twenty four subscribers. I hope to be able to write articles worthy enough to help me secure the subscription of at least between 25-30 new subscribers this mpnth, bringing my total number of subscribers to 50-60. Hopefully I can attain this goal. 5. One Article Per Day I know this might sound too ambitious, but they did say aim for the sky, so that even when you fail, you fall among the stars. I don't know if I can do this, but we never know until we try, right? If you noticed, I didn't set any earning goal, that's because I still don't know where I stand with the bot, but I hope he notices me enough and puts me on his good side this month. As lofty or little as the goals might seem, there's no way I would achieve it without you guys, and because I have you guys, that's why I dare to dream. Once again many thanks to everybody that stops by my articles and show me love and support one way or the other. God bless you guys.

The Rise of Electoral Altars You are such a fool, how on earth could you let that happen? Screamed Athena. I was vehemently trying to explain to her, but she wasn't going to have any of it, before long she was getting to her point of violence. I tried to walk away, but I was too late, as I heard the wooshing sound of an object cutting through the air at break-neck speed. Before I could figure out what it was, I heard a crashing sound, instantaneously followed by a cracking sound before I collapsed to the ground( the cracking sound; that was skull getting open). She quickly ran to me, raised me up from the floor and wrapped her hands around me, pleading with me not to die, not to leave her and not to close my eyes, all the while screaming for help. As I gradually faded away, I struggled to keep my eyes open, and right about that time another loud sound GBO!! That was my face receiving a hot slap from the well constructed hands of my mum. I jumped out of my horrible dream and out of bed at the same time in one fell motion. Within nanoseconds of the sleep, I was standing upright. As much as the slap hurt, I was shall grateful the nighmare/dream had ended. Jide, you have no plans to go to church today, do you? She asked. Mummy no na, my clothes are already ironed, I just need to bathe and dress up. When do you plan to dress up, midway through the service? That slap was not necessary oo, I said ( with grievances written all over my face, but I knew to keep it in moderation make she nor do plastic surgery for my face with her magic hands😂). We shall went to church; while others were hoping to have a good day fellowshipping with God, I was hoping I would finally get Athena's number; I really need to rearrange and reshape those her hips( if you know, you know😂😂). The service was proceeding orderly and fine, and I kept looking at my watch wishing I could shift the hands of time. As the intercessory prayers was hoing on, a convoy rolled right in front of the church entrance and a young man jumped out of the last car with a roll of red carpet, spreading it before the backdoor of the Range Rover in the middle of the convoy. The pastor had just instructed the crowd to pray to God for the next ten minutes in their different local dialects, we were barely two minutes into it when the Incumbent Governor walked in, red carpet strewn accross the aisle way. Pastor wrapped up a supposed ten-minute prayer in two minutes, without even saying the customary 'in Jesus name' he simply just screamed, amen! amen!! amen!!! Intercessory prayer turn hype session. The Pastor spent the next eight minutes doing the job of a Hypeman as the governor made his way to the seat meant for the ministers ( as what ni!). As much as I wanted to wait to collect Athena's number, in that moment i just wanted to leave the church, bur the fear of my Mother was the beginning of wisdom for me😂😂). My breaking point came when the Pastor literally gave the altar to the Governor to do what was supposed to be an admonition ( low budget sermon), baba change it to a campaign and the church was hollering as he went on with his rubbish. I totally forgot that I was holding an active microphone, and I soon heard my voice boomeranging from the speakers, guess what I was saying when it happen? Mr Governor, you dey whine me abi you dey whine your own nipples? Omo!! Wahala don set. As much as I feared my mum, I just couldn't take it anymore and left church immediately. This scenario is completely fictional, but it's what has gradually become our reality in this country. We usually go to church to fellowship with God, but gradually what ought to be a fellowship with God is becoming all sort of things ranging from an entertainment centre, to a business seminar, and the worse of them all, a campaign ground!! How dare we do that? How dare Pastors stand by and even encourage the misuse and defilement of God's sanctuary? Politicians who haven't gone to church for years will attend multiple services during the election year, telling us how God chose them to become our leaders; ah ah! Them dey whine us?. The church that was supposed to serve as a place for spiritual enlightenment is now turning to a place where we are deceived and herded to the ballot boxes like sheep unto a slaughter. The worst part of it all is that we know all these people do is lie and deceive and quite often destroy. They are quick to donate huge sums of money to these churches, as if to buy the conscience of the church and sadly it works. I am a Christian or i think myself to be one, but I am not a very religious person, still these happening are still as disgusting to me as the word can get. So, why aren't the church leaders seeing the wrong in this? How can a clergy in good conscience give a platform to someone to lie and deceive so many people? **Conclusion** I know you might see this rant as unnecessary, after all, it's not even election year, but we have to start having these conversations now if we are going to take back our church and restore the sanctity of God's house. Let the house of God be the house of God, and let only his affairs be done in his house.

Gambling and Investing: Honestly is There Any Difference? I have read a lot of post concerning this topic and I have heard the opinions of a lof of folks and there are a lot of people on both side of the divide, but if I were to ask you, what would you say? They are different, they are not? Well, it really is a matter of personal opinion, but I am just going to highlight a few points that you probably should consider while deciding or I might just be giving you my own opinion of the whole thing. What is **Investing**? According to en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Investment 'To invest is to allocate money with the expectation of a positive benefit/return in the future. In other words, to invest means owning an asset or an item with the goal of generating income from the investment or the appreciation of your investment which is an increase in the value of the asset over a period of time. When a person invests, it always requires a sacrifice of some present asset that they own, such as time, money, or effort.' While according to https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://languages.oup.com/google-dictionary-en&ved=2ahUKEwif-6TMwvLzAhUI_BQKHdmwCtEQvecEegQINRAK&usg=AOvVaw3kNBXVjbAIAFeyFQVCJmJF to invest is to 'put (money) into financial schemes, shares, property, or a commercial venture with the expectation of achieving a profit'. put (money) into financial schemes, shares, property, or a commercial venture with the expectation of achieving a profit. Key Points on Investing 1. The use of money to acquire assets 2. These assets could come in different forms (money, financial scheme, shares, property, commercial ventures etc.) 3. The aim is to make profit off the acquired asset. 4. The expectation is for a positive return in the future. 5. It requires giving up a current asset yuo own in acquisition of the asset you want to get ( which you expect to profit off of in the future). 6. It requires analysis, which some will argue as speculation. **What is Gambling**? According to www.britannica.com/topic/gambling 'gambling, the betting or staking of something of value, with consciousness of risk and hope of gain, on the outcome of a game, a contest, or an uncertain event whose result may be determined by chance or accident or have an unexpected result by reason of the bettor’s miscalculation.' While according to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambling 'Gambling (also known as betting) is the wagering something of value ("the stakes") on an event with an uncertain outcome with the intent of winning something else of value'. **Key** Points on Gambling 1. It involves an uncertain event. 2. Wagering is involved. 3. The outcome depends on chance. 4. There must be a reward. 5. There's an amount of speculation. Having outline both, it is worthy to mention that when "investing", it can be classed high risk , when the possibility of loss is high and usually when the reward is beat, while it is low risk if the possibility of loss is low and the reward margin is small. Having said that, one could argue that these two things have a lot in common. Similarities 1. For starters, both involves an element of risk and return. The investor believe his asset will increase in value, as well as the possibility of it decreasing, while the gambler expect event to happen according to his speculations, knowing fully well they might not. 2. Both involves sacrificing a valued asset. 3. Both involves using speculative means, such as data-driven analysis to make predictions on possible outcomes before indulging in them. 4. They both have mean of reducing the risks involved while increasing accuracy. 5. Both can result in addiction. With these similarities, one could effectively argue that what people term gambling is nothing more than a high risk investment. **Differences** 1. Gambling usually involves speculating on events, while investing involves the acquisition of an asset. 2. Gambling is usually considered a youthful exurberance while investing up until recently was considered a thing for the old and middle aged. 3. Gambling is frowned upon, while investing is encouraged. 4. There's time constraints unlike investing **Conclusion** (for me) But having look at the facts, doesn't it seem to you like they are just two side of the same coin really? I mean, I watch gamblers especially sports bettors and I can categorically tell you that some of them put as much effort into analysing data to come to a good predictions as a crypto trader put into analysizing market movement to know what coin or crypto to buy. Having said all this, I argue that what we call gambling is high risk investment and what we call investing is a low risk investment basically a less risky gamble. Many thanks to all my lovely readers, commenters, up voters, sponsors and subscribers. I love you guys!!

Quite The Rollercoaster Have you had a day that started so well that you thought God must have touched you that day and your day was going to be all blissful, only to see your day take a turn? I hope not, at least not the way it happened to me today. Where are my manners? Good evening people, how are you? Hope your day was good? Mine was really a rollercoaster. So, you might not have known this or you might have, but since I opened this new account over a week ago, I had not been visited by you know who, but I did my best to keep going, interacting and posting articles, at least one a day. It wasn't exactly a pleasant experience waiting for so long considering it came almost immediately on my last account, but I wasn't going to give up as I promised in my first article https://read.cash/@Methion/third-time-is-a-charm-fc71dca6 So imagine how I must have been feeling this morning when I told @Kushyzee about how frustrating it was getting for me, and how I might just give up( I know that sounds selfish, but if you read my article https://read.cash/@Methion/this-is-my-motivation-b1359290 you would understand), only for me to check back and realize that he had visited my article!! I was elated and almost screamed out loud at the farm. All of a sudden, my day was looking really bright or so I thought. I set out to do my other business for the day, which included going to the bank to collect the statement of account I requested yesterday, but couldn't get because they had network issues. You would not believe these guys gave me a statement covering a time period I didn't ask for and I didn't notice it until I got home. I was livid, but i had to go back to get another one, by the time I finished, there wasn't anytime left to spend with @Mhizutty I just had to escort her for her hostel to collect some things before we both head to our different homes for the weekend. I personally never go home, and this pisses my parents off, that they have to call and request so many times before i spare thrm a weekend, but this time, i had missed my mum and had to just come home to see her. Soon enough @Mhizutty and I had entered our different shuttle services from the school campus while the sky was turning really black; rain was coming. I got to Ring Road and needed to take another bus to sapele road, that was when things started spinning out of control. For a route that cost #200 on a normal day, the drivers were requesting pepper to pay #500 just because it was about to rain, hence everybody was hurrying home. Apart from not wanting to pay the #500 fare cos it was ridiculous, I also didn't want to risk having my phone getting damaged or missing while dragging with other commuters for the few available buses. I shall started walking, hoping to get a bus ahead (who sent me that kind thing😂😂). I would soon realise that the multitude waiting for buses was everywhere along the route; before I knew it, I have had to walk a distance of more than eight kilometres and the day had suddenly taken a gloomy appearance in my eyes😂😂. My hip socket was beginning to feel like it was about to pull off( me I sha couldn't not take it anymore). I just tried a little more and got myself to my father's work place. My phone was dead all this time. The man see him pikin, he shake head😂😂. He just had to close early, so as to bring me home, but fate seem to disagree. The traffic gridlock was something else, we literally spent at least an hour in it, but praise God we manage to get through and got home. Mummy not let me sit down finish before she begin fill me with food like I was about to die of starvation ( that's one of the things I missed while away in school). Well, I have finally charged my phone, actually charging right now and I am so happy this rollercoaster of a day is coming to an end. It was one hell of a day, hopefully tomorrow will be completely bright for me. Closing thoughts I didn't just come here to bore you with the story of my day. There are lessons for us here 1. Perseverance pay. Keep doing what you do, it will pay off eventually ( unless it is something evil) 2. Nobody ever promised you a perfect life or day. Learn to live with adversity, it's inevitable 3. Never encourage wrong ( like I chose nort to with the drivers. Although I am not so sure I would do it again if we took the hand of time back😂) 4. In all things give thanks to God.
Did You Eat Food? **A good cook is better than a good doctor - Unknown** ***Disclaimer: I am not a doctor or a nutritionist, please consult a nutritionist or medical personnel for a professional opinion. This is just my thoughts and opinions.*** You are having a busy day at work, seeing as it is the last day of the work month you have to sort out a lot of documents, graph and reports. You hear a rumbling sound coming from... Wait.. Your stomach and an accompanying mild irritation/pain. What's that? Without being told, you leave your desk for the nearest eatery, to do what? Eat food! Now, you went to eat, but didn't you eat food, did you now? To successfully answer that question, we have to really understand; **What is Food?** According to en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food, "Food is any substance consumed to provide nutritional support for an organism. Food is usually of plant, animal or fungal origin, and contains essential nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals. The substance is ingested by an organism and assimilated by the organism's cells to provide energy, maintain life, or stimulate growth" while according to https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://languages.oup.com/google-dictionary-en&ved=2ahUKEwiZioCiue3zAhXIi1wKHQsGDD4QvecEegQIBhAK&usg=AOvVaw3kNBXVjbAIAFeyFQVCJmJF, "any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink or that plants absorb in order to maintain life and growth. From the above definition, we can draw out some properties of what we ought to call food. **1. It should be consumable:** One of the first questions to be asked when some "food" is put before you is whether it is edible ( oh please, ask yourself, not the waitress or your wife😂😂, unless of course you want to eat shards of glass for your next meal). A food substance is only edible/consumable if it is known to cause no harm to humans or whatever will be eating it. This is a very important consideration as there are substances that are sweet, nutritious but contain poisonous elements or compounds, rendering them unsafe for consumption. It is also worthy of note, that two food substance that are consumable in themselves can become unsafe for consumption when combined together. In that same vein, when two substances that are same are brought forward, one can be consumable, while the other is not, due to the difference in concentration of whatever renders them toxic. **2. It should be nutritious:** Any substance that will be considered as food must contain certain chemical components and nutritional factors ( carbohydrates, protein, fat and oil, minerals, vitamins, water) that are required for the proper physiological functioning (maintenance of life) as well as growth. **3. It should be digestible and assimilable:** A substance containing all the required nutrients and growth factors in forms which the body can not digest or assimilate csn not be considered a food substance. This is the reason fibres are not considered as a food substance. Having clarified the above, I repeat my question; **Did** you eat food? Most of us eat when sensory cells in our digestive tracts tell our brains that it's empty ( that's what we know as hunger), but we really do not pay much attention to what we are eating. Eating food as we have seen is more than just filling our stomach with the next available thing. We ought to pay attention to what we eat, so as to ensure our diet is adequate both in quality and quantity to meet our energy, growth and physiology needs. While there are places where this is easily achievable like the developed countries, there are places where it is a luxury, such as the developing and underdeveloped countries. Notwithstanding, we should do our best to eat right as much as means allows us. The habit of eating to maintain our stomachs instead of life can be very dangerous. This can lead to all sort of medical issues. For example, there are some food substance that are known to be cancernogenic if taken too often. **How do you ensure you are eating right?** *Disclaimer: I am not a doctor or a nutritionist, please consult a nutritionist or medical personnel for a professional opinion. This is just my thoughts and opinions.* 1. Eat at the right time, do not starve yourself 2. Do not eat heavy meals to bed 3. Do not eat late and sleep 4. Try to balance your diet ( per diet or per day or per week, you get the gist) 5. As much as you can, avoid eating out as you really can not vouch for what went into the cooking of that food 6. Try to cook your own meals to ensure it safety and quality 7. If you must eat out, use a reputable eatery ( to avoid story that touch😂😂) 8. Always eat fruits, as they contain most if not all the minerals and vitamins your body needs. This is my entry for this week @JonicaBradley prompt. Reflection: I Miss Myself Good morning people, hope your night was good? Have great plans for your day? As for me, I don't have much planned. I am just going to sort out some bank stuff with the Assistant Dean of my faculty, go to the bank to submit some documents, as well as head to student affairs to pick up some, pretty dull eh?? Have you ever had an experience that was so interesting and life impacting that you just in that moment, reflect on your life in such an indepth way as you've never done, even during your meditation time? If you have, that's just great but if you haven't, you should hope for one. Let me tell you about my experience yesterday. It was supposed to be a pretty routine day of spending some time in the farm, spending some more time running after the Assistant Dean etc. That was until my friend @Mhizutty told me that I had to come and run security for her as she was going to attend a programme where the Nigerian gospel artiste MERCY CHINWO!! Well, as much as I wanted to do other things, I definitely couldn't say no(she would have killed me😂😂). I went to school as usual, did a bit of running around, but I couldn't find my Assistant Dean, so at about 2pm @Mhizutty and myself finally left the farm and headed for her house( her real house, not hostel). Omo, as I reach there, I first balance, get down two wraps of satana(akpu) with correct ogbono soup, after which we set out for the venue of the program at the headquarters of New covenant gospel church. As soon as we got there, @Mhizutty delved right into the whole worship atmosphere thing, but me; I was looking for where to charge (so I could reach out to you guys later in the day😂). So, I left my original seat to somewhere around the backrow close to a wall socket to charge. As i was charging and standing to watch my phone, I was gradually been immersed in the atmosphere, in no time, I was feeling the flow😂😂. Then, it happened, Mercy Chinwo came on stage and for the first time in my very beautiful life, I saw a gospel music artiste live!! Her smile, composure, aura was so...something. That was when I fully got into it. The atmosphere was something I had forgotten, something I was once used to, it was exciting and sad at the same time; I know that makes no sense. Through out the worship session, I just kept thinking back to those days that people would say I was an ardent Christian, a true believer (not a church goer), and how peaceful life used to be for me then in the midst of the many storms I had to whether alongside my family: I just couldn't help but miss it. I remember how I used to dedicate at least an hour to fellowshipping with God every morning every day, how it made me so cheerful and made my day bright and glorious even in the midst of lack, how I never missed a service ( whether sunday service, weekly service, special programme, departmental rehearsals whether it was my department or not, prayer band meetings), I was literally everywhere, every time. I wasn't just doing those things for doing sake, I actually felt close to God and I did see Him manifest his power in my life. Now, I wonder if i have lost my way, and if so how? How do I get all that back? How do I get that peace that i once had and so desperately need? Where did I miss it, when did I relegate the affairs of God to the back burner? These are questions I have been pondering all since yesterday. **Closing Thoughts** I had a great day yesterday, and i really didn't want it to end. It was a great escape from my reality. Now I woke up today with a new hope that my day will be filled with Joy unspeakable. Have I suddenly become a religious person? I don't think so, but a little faith doesn't do any harm. I hope you do have a good day.
Hey people, I am so sorry I have and won't be able to read any of your articles today as I am really sleepy, I am even more sorry for not giving you anything to read, i promise to make up for it tomorrow. Good night people, all my love..
Yesterday was an exceptionally good day for me. You wouldn't believe it. I got 3 more sponsors. Thanks so much @Usmanshoaib and @Greatwolfman and @JonicaBradley for the sponsorship. God bless you guys
This is My Motivation Ok, honestly how do you guys come up with the introduction of your articles,I mean really, every time I want to write an article, I try to look for a grand opening like a lot of you guys usually have but I guess that's not for me. So, good afternoon people, how are you? Having a great day I hope?. Well, if you want to know about mine, it has been pretty uneventful. It has been pretty routine and stress-free except for the Assistant Dean of my faculty who seem to have been catching cruise with me for the most of the day. I am suppose to be handing over to the new Director of Finance of our faculty students union body and I needed the Assistant Dean's signature to collect the statement of account of the association's account, so as to facilitate an effective handover. This man begin use me catch cruise; he had me wait at one of his offices for hours when he could have simply told me to come meet him at his other office. Of my own initiative, I went to just check his second office after hours of waiting and I met him there discussing with two women whom I assume are his relatives. He could have just told me to meet him there! I finally met him and asked him to sign and he told me he wouldn't sign because I was wearing shorts, as in? I am a Fisheries and Aquaculture management student, am I suppose to wear my Sunday's best to the farm when I know I deal with water, fish water at that every day?... Na him sha know. He even said before I come to him again, i should be putting on basically a suit and tie and socks and shoe, wow! Nothing person nor go see for naija universities😂😂. I couldn't help thinking this is one of the manifestation of my last article https://read.cash/@Methion/why-so-much-struggle-17c67765, back to the business of the day; What motivates me? We all know the number of authors on this platform run into tens of thousand, and we all have different motivation(s) for being here. An author on this platform wrote about the different possible motivations(forgive me for not remembering your name as I have been reading a lot of articles), and it got me thinking since a number of those could easily be identified as my motivation. I decided to see in what order they fall and here we go. If I am to be completely honest, my number one motivation is the possible reward that's on this platform( even though I am still barely picking the crumbs😂😂). The hope of earning BCH for my articles is the chief reason I joined the platform and is one of the reasons that has kept me going despite multiple setbacks. I am sure if we are completely honest, it's the reason majority of us joined here. I am not saying it's your number one motivation, but you could have been writing on any other platform, but you chose read.cash as one of them, tell me it's not about the money now😂? My second motivator is the chance to meet new people, network and build new relationships, as I naturally have a few of this(seeing as I am an introvert and have terrible social skills). It is easier for me to do this online than offline and this has been help greatly by the positivity on this platform. Thirdly you have passion for writing. I know, it looks bad to have passion for writing this far in the list, but it is what it is. I mean, don't get it wrong, I have always had as much passion for writing as the lot of us, but I have also always been a person that gives up easily as my brain and hand use to move at different speed thereby removing the pleasure of writing for me. But with the other incentives above being waived at me, I had to buckle up, knuckle down and get this thing together if I truly wanted to ever do it. The others follow in no specific order. **Closing thoughts** With the little time I have spent here though, I have had a drastic change in my priorities here. I have made so much improvement in my writing, time maximisation and my life in general. This platform may not be really rewarding me monetarily yet, but I can assure you, I have already gotten a lot more than I can give to this platform. I feel blessed everyday interacting with the good people of this platform as they are so positive, supportive and out to help in one way or the other. I have got to say I love you guys, especially my sponsors @FarmGirl and @Jumper-01 , as well as so many other friends who constantly support me.

Hip! Hip!! Hip!!! Hurray!!! Thanks so much @Jumper-01 for granting me the honour of sponsoring me. Thanks so much for your support
