Choose your addiction

We are all addicted to something which may be good or bad. There is always something that takes the bigger space in our heart and willingly or unwillingly we just find ourselves doing that particular thing.

When we hear the word addiction, what is the first thing that comes to our mind? Bad things right. Like smoking, drinking alcohol, pornography and the likes.

But what about those things that are literally good but we overdoing it makes it bad. You have become so used to doing it that you won't feel okay until you do that thing. It can be just anything. Like chatting, watching movies, playing games, etc.

These things become bad when you do it and in the long run, the value or the result you get from it is not helpful for your growth.

I love playing games a lot especially on my phone. There is this particular game that became my favorite. As at the time, I had other games on my phone but I only loved playing this game and I did 24/7 literally.

The game is about bringing out words from letters. It allows me to think well. Later I found myself doing no other thing than playing it when I'm free. Then I graduated from that and started playing it in class whenever the class is boring convincing myself that I could do both listening and playing game together.

Even in the church, I am always on it. Then it kept me awake at night and whenever I sleep early, I make sure by midnight I wake up to play it. And it is not like I am getting paid or it is adding anything to me. This is an addiction right?

Now, playing games is not bad at all but should only be done once in a while (except it's a full-time job).

We might not be quick to realize it but whatever we do daily/often becomes part of us. It becomes a habit and later develops into an addiction.

Thank God I realized mine quickly. I discovered that my addiction to it has been rubbing me of many things, most especially my time. So I left it slowly by putting my energy into something else which looking back now, has been very beneficial to me.

Nothing in itself is addictive; it is your doing it every single time that makes it so. It is your love for it, the passion you have for it and you dedicating your time to it that makes it addictive.

I hope we make better choices here. So choose your addiction and choose right ❤️

I've been away for some time now. What has been happening? Is there any new update?

You should have asked him/her the name of the game that way you would have been able to download it. Or do you know the name?

I guess I was addicted to something sour like vinegar. I used to drink especially apple cider vinegar. Then I had a stomach problem, acidity, which made me stop. I still like sour food though

This is my first time of reading a case like this. It is common for people to be addicted to sweet/sugary things.

I'm glad you stopped on time. And the stomach problem, hope it's gone now?
