LGBTQ Community And Freedom Of Expression. What is the **LGBTQ**? LGBTQ stands for *Lesbian*, *Gay, Bisexual, Transgender,* and *Queer.* They are a community of people who choose to express sexuality differently from the "**natural and biblical**" way. For instance, gays are men who are **sexually** attracted to men, and lesbians are females who are sexually attracted to fellow females. ORIGIN OF THE TOPIC On the 14th of May, it was reported that **PSG midfielder Idrissa Gueye** missed out on their game vs Montpellier due to the Rainbow Inscriptions on the teams' shirts, showing **support** for the *LGBTQ* community. It was also reported that the League asked that he **tender** an **apology** if he originally planned on boycotting the game because of his detest for the LGBTQ community. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR OUR FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION. This has caused an **uproar** on the internet because a lot of people across the globe, the majority of whom are **Christians** and **Muslims**, believe that the tenets of LGBTQ go **against** their *beliefs*. Idrissa Gueye is a **devout** Muslim who thinks that the practice of the community goes against his belief as a Muslim and Wearing a jersey with the colors of the community riddled over it, implies that he has shown his unalloyed *support* for the community. In the fight against racism in football, the **knee-bend** before a game policy was introduced. Most persons keyed into it, but some others choose not to. This goes beyond individual players because some big clubs across Europe also choose not to kneel before the start of a game. **Nothing** was done to them, **nobody** asked them to **tender** apologies because in as much as Racism is a general topic, people can choose to support the movement or not. it's their **Right**. In recent times, The Western society and the press have shown massive support for the LGBTQ community, and that has really helped the growth of the community. But **right** now, the importance of Freedom of expression cannot be overemphasized. The support for the community is a bit extreme. The fact that one is **indifferent** to something doesn't mean that he doesn't like it. He just ain't in support. "You could do your thing, but I'm just indifferent." The same goes for the kneeling before the game tradition. The fact that one chooses not to kneel down doesn't mean that the person is racist. He/she could choose to be **indifferent** about it for personal reasons. Demanding a ***public apology*** from someone because he chose not to support a movement that goes against his personal beliefs is a bit **extreme**. It simply means that everybody is being **forced** to accept and integrate the mentality into our various societies regardless of whether it's *in line* with our beliefs or not. The community has really chosen to force their beliefs on the members of any society they find themselves in and then cry foul when they are not accepted.

The Nation made it clear that they won't be entertaining any LGBTQ guests during the World Cup, as the practice is against their belief. If they want to attend, they could choose to attend either as a **male** or a **female**, and wait till they get back home before exercising the option of practicing any **sexuality** of their choice. Qatar, on the other hand, has a point because one cannot leave one's homeland to tell the **United States not** to practice *LGBTQ*. They wouldn't agree because they believe it's right for them to practice it. You can't go and do what's not acceptable in someone else's land and then cry foul when you are not accepted. I'm not in anyway trying to be homophobic, but all I'm saying in essence is that, the community shouldn't force their ideology on anybody because before they came, there were already existing, universal and biblical standards. Forcing Idrissa to tender an apology is an infringement on his freedom of expression. **May 19, 2022**.

Exactly dear Mekus, I agree with you. A community shouldn't force it's ideology to the others. And everyone's beliefs and ideologies must be respected.
Wow, I wasn't aware of the whole Qatar situation. Las las everyone will be alright. This would has turned to something else
I think the body or bodies are implementing those rules just to make the world a better place as regards the dangers of accepting some doctrines such as the one you mentioned. A lot of religion believes that some of these doctrines would expose the world into great danger in the future times.
'Qatar' is also trying to force their beliefs on incomers. Well, FIFA has said they won't use hotels who don't support LGBTQ+ communities. It is some hotels in Qatar, not the country Qatar.
Exactly, the same thing Qatar is doing is the same thing the LGBTQ community are doing, just that one is seen as surpression while the other is seen as diversity. The country itself doesn't obviously support LGBTQ communities. They had to tone down some of their strict rules for this world cup sha.
It is really disappointing how people tend to cancel someone just because of their gender. I find it useless and unnecessary, but on the other hand, I also respect religious doctrines that some countries are inclined to. We cannot force them to believe and tolerate something that says immoral in their beliefs. This is just another issue that can be an eye-opener to everyone - that diversity still exists too.

He is not speaking against it, he only choose not to support it and I don't think they should kill him for that. I would say if he speaks against them, that's another topic. Zaha at a point didn't kneel...and I know a lot of players who didn't as well...it was overlooked. I don't know why they have to force him to do what goes against his belief because this is about beliefs...it has nothing to do about respect...he respects their rights not to speak against them but they have to respect his right to feel the way he feels. Respect the opinions of others even if you disagree with them. I might not agree with everything but I would defend the right of anyone to feel the way they feel. He didn't kill anyone.
God bless you Sir. He obviously didn't kill or oppose anyone, we most definitely wouldn't support everything that comes our Way. Before them there were already preexisting beliefs. A lot of players didn't kneel and some teams didn't kneel as well and they weren't beaten or asked to tender an apology. Then why is Idrissa's case different? I so much hate double standards.
That's England for you. Double standards. I don't want to say it's because he is black so it won't come off wrong. If they can't force those people to tender apology, they shouldn't force him to either.
Everyone has their beliefs and as long as they don't discriminate them, they are not just in support of it and the people should understand the decision, if everyone starts being in support of what comes their way, that means the person has no belief.
