So, it's eight-time champions, Germany, versus England at the Women's European Championship Final on Sunday. The Lioness have a tough task on their hand as they try to defeat the record champions. Euro 2022 has been a very interesting, intriguing tournament so far.

Now that Atletico Madrid have finally ruled themselves out of signing Ronaldo, it looks like the dude has nowhere to go - except the rumoured Saudi Arabia link. I personally don't want him to stay. I never wanted him in the team last season because he was clearly not who Man U needed.

You learn more from defeats than wins. If Man U win all their matches in the preseason I would've been very sad. Those unimportant wins would've deceived everyone associated with the club. As ridiculous as it sounds, Calum Chambers last gasp equaliser against Man U may be the most important goal they will concede this season. The wins against Liverpool and Melbourne City would've given everyone a sense of security, building up belief which will in turn lead to unsurmountable pressure during the regular season. Now, we know the team isn't ready. We know they are still a top 6 team. I hope this drawback is maximized during the regular season for the betterment of the team.

I have to admit I'm highly disappointed in Lingard's decision to play for a newly promoted side. With his experience he could've chosen far better sides home and abroad to represent. His decision to sign just a year contract with no extension clause is smart though. If Forests struggle and get engulfed in a relegation battle, or ultimately, relegate, Lingard will jump ship immediately.

If your team just purchased five different players and they're telling you to leave so as to balance their books, you need no soothsayer to tell you are surplus to requirements. I guess Barcelona believes Pedri and Gavi are good enough for their midfield.

The Ousmane Dembele soap opera finally reached an exciting conclusion. Phew! That was an interesting watch. Last January, Dembele was told to find himself another club or sign the contract offered. At that point, it looked like we were about to experience a full-blown, ugly battle involving Barca and one of its player yet again. For two games, Dembele was dropped from the squad. He was threatened and told he will be forced to train alone. The fans turned against him too in the knowledge that they've not really seen the best version of him. He has yet to justify the hefty amount used to price him away from Dortmund. Xavi displayed incredible maturity though. He convinced the club and restored Dembele to the starting lineup. Dembele justified Xavi's decision with 13 assists in 21 games, the highest in La Liga last season. Today, Thursday, Dembele finally signed a new, two-year contract till 2024. With the return of Fati and impending acquisition of Raphinha, Barcelona should represent a stronger opposition next season.

Jack Wilshere appointed Arsenal U18 manager few days after officially retiring from playing football at the relatively young age of 30. I'm quite happy for him. His experience and technique should help forge a new set of midfielders who prioritize technical skills over the physical ones

Manchester City are so confident to the point they are letting their fringe players join direct Premier League rivals. Gabriel Jesus joined Arsenal. Sterling and Ake are about to join Chelsea. Manchester City are so confident right now, strengthening their rivals. I hope they regret this.

Sterling to Chelsea is nearly done as personal terms have been agreed. City won't scupper the deal and will accept a reasonable offer around £50M. If Sterling joins Chelsea I don't see them buying Ronaldo. Sterling is on £300,000 per week and will not lower his wages . Ronaldo is on £500,000 per week. Acquiring both players will cripple Chelsea's finances. That leaves PSG and Bayern as the two most likely destination for Ronaldo.

The news I've anticipated all summer finally arrived. I was very underwhelmed when Ronaldo was signed from Juventus last summer. He was undoubtedly a world class striker but definitely not the guy the team needed. Manchester United finished second behind City is 2020/2021 season. Despite the wide points gap to City what the team needed was glaring: a right-sided winger and a top central defender. In comes Sancho and Varane to solve those problems emphatically. As a Man U fan I started the 2021/2022 season with optimism. You could sense the team was close to greatness. Greenwood was maturing, and Cavani led the line with grit and tenacity. That understanding was suddenly disrupted because of Ronaldo. When Solksjær was sacked he indirectly said the signing of Ronaldo tore up his plan for the team. Gullible fans attacked Ole relentlessly because he was never trusted, but he had a point. Some fans chose to be deceived. Ralf Rangnick didn't hide his feelings and pointed out that Ronaldo wasn't the type of player he will start in his ideal central forward role. Nevertheless, Ronaldo had to play. Even when it was glaring that the team needed a fit and firing Cavani to spearhead the attack, Ronaldo still had to start. Now that he has requested a transfer the love story that never existed is about to end. I hope he leaves. Erik Ten Hag doesn't need a tumultuous dressing room. And I believe we all heard stories about dressing room unrest Ronaldo probably championed; we heard about the Portuguese vs English factions. Cristiano Ronaldo will always remain one of the best players ever to play the game but the events of the last few months proved right what the likes of Chiellini said about him. Even when he was Manchester United's best player back in 2008 the likes of Rooney, Park and Tevez were the better team players. Right now, Manchester United needs team players; not individual ones whose only obsession is their records!

If Malacia joins Man U there will be three left-backs at the club. I think it's high time Alex Telles is moved on. He has underwhelmed massively and never looked the attacking full-back we anticipated.

Spurs are not messing around right now. Richarlison is about to join an already fearsome attacking unit of Kane, Son, Kulusevski, and Perisic. With the impressive Bissouma bossing the midfield Spurs will be irrepressible next season.

As expected, Mr. Piquet tried distorting the truth. When Luis Suarez racially abused Patrice Evra, the dude claimed the words he used weren't racist - that his words were taken out of context. Mr. Piquet, another South American, just claimed his words were taken out of context too. It's a pity we are having to deal with issues of racism in 2022 because of some entitled, small minded people.

One of the most intriguing periods in football is when the transfer season is fully on. Its always a drama. The rumours are unending with conspiracy theorists manufacturing moves out of thin air based on their imagination and propagating it to the masses to follow. The players along with their agents participate actively in the drama too, dishing out lies at will. Just last week Frenkie De Jong said he was at the best club in the world and had no reason to move. This morning ESPN is reporting a breakthrough in discussions and that De Jong will move to #ManU. You just don't know who to believe until a deal is announced. While we are at it, enjoy this wonderful season. Follow the lies and you may just find some truth at the end. Though the active football season is exciting, the transfer season comes along with its own brand of enjoyment too.

Well, this is highly unexpected. Wayne Rooney just stepped down as manager of Derby County. I have to admit I didn't see this one coming. He could've left during the campaign last season when there were rumours of possible interest from other clubs but he stood with Derby. In a very difficult campaign he gave the fans hope. I didn't think he was going to leave.

Inter's ultras already made their intentions clear about Romelu Lukaku - he may come back but their won't be a welcoming party. As much as I've always defended Lukaku in the face of criticism his decision making in recent years has been terrible. He leaves a club on a bad note then blames everyone but himself for it. I think the blades of grass at Old Trafford are the only things he didn't blame when he left Manchester United. Of course, the management at Inter got the blame for him leaving. They wouldn't renew his contract and pay him more money. He will not spare the blades of grass at Stamford Bridge this time around for not helping to play his pattern. He'll probably blame the London weather too once his loan move back to Inter is confirmed. Like Lukaku, like Pogba. A wise man once said, "birds of the same feather...."

Javier Tebas does not mess around. La Liga just filed a complaint against Man City and PSG to UEFA. The complaint claimed both teams are regularly breaching financial fair play regulations. Now, La Liga (and Tebas) may look like a pained woman on a revenge mission after being jilted by her lover because they missed out on Mbappe and Haaland. The fact remains that what La Liga has done is not wrong. Both PSG and Man City are bankrolled with the money from a whole country. That makes the competition unfair. I'm not really a fan of Tebas' outspoken nature but I'm totally in support of what he has done here.

Once again GSW tallied more points than Boston Celtics in Q3; once again Celtics are already dominating Q4 and should win this game to have a commanding 3-1 series lead. Despite the love I have for GSW the recurring Q4 issues has left me with no choice but to admit Curry will not win the much coveted 4th Championship ring this year. ... Well, it didn't take long for the Warriors to remind me of their greatness. What a performance! Series tied 2-2. And faith in the Warriors abundantly restored. #NBAFinals #BasketBall

Didn't watch Game 3 of the NBA Finals which Boston Celtic won 116-110 to lead the series 2-1. If GSW wants to add their fourth Championship ring in eight years they will have to tie the series again. If GSW end up on the losing side the noise about KD being the major reason for their triumphs in 2017 and 2018 will rent their air once again. #Basketball #NBAFinals

Mane looks destined to leave Anfield this summer but his major admirer, Bayern Munich, are making very annoying bids for his services. The Senegalese forward is priced at just over £40M but Bayern's first and second bid has been knocked back by Liverpool. The second bid is actually ridiculous with Bayern offering £23.5M upfront and a further £6.5M in add-ons. Mane will need to win the Champions League and Balon d'Or on three separate occasions for Bayern to pay the extra £6.5M. That's a very silly proposal to make considering Mane is already 30 years old.
