Well, this is highly unexpected. Wayne Rooney just stepped down as manager of Derby County. I have to admit I didn't see this one coming. He could've left during the campaign last season when there were rumours of possible interest from other clubs but he stood with Derby. In a very difficult campaign he gave the fans hope. I didn't think he was going to leave.

With his reputation, he'll surely find a secured manager position in a better league. Third tier League One would take him too long to come back and there's no guarantee of success.
That's absolutely true. If Vincent Kompany could get the Burnley job despite having never managed in England before Rooney will soon get a good offer in the Championship.
