Professor J. Once said... Travel, Save and be a Human

Good evening dreamers! How's your day? Are you really okay? No matter how big or small your struggles today, I hope you still find a reason to continue. Who knows that your struggles today turns into biggest lesson or answered prayers in the next day. Don't be harsh on yourself. You did a job well done today.

We had this professor this is so kind and always asked how are we or how's life going lately. We really appreciate him everytime he allot time to listen to our rants and problems in life. We is like a father who wants to know the children's updates. We call him Prof J. Another thing that we really want about him is his way of giving us friendly advices in life. Since our subject is about money, investment and treasury, he tend to give advices but he also gives real life advices that we can literally applied in life. So now, I will share to you some of his given advices to us.

1.Travel as much as you can. It is not a waste of money but it is a way to cultivate experiences, learnings and memories.

He share to us that one of the best gift that you can give to yourself is travel. It's like giving yourself a time to rethink, reflect and refresh. Who don't like to travel right? Go to the places that makes your heart happy. You can't grow in one place, you need to step your feet forward to discover new things in life. So if you have a chance to travel, grab it.

2.Invest in your passion and purpose not in Money.

I know that money is vital in our life. Probably we can't live without it because how can we buy foods, clothes and other stuffs if we have lack money. That's why most of us works for money. But he said that the true successful is not those who have lot of money but rather those who have an opportunity to work base on their purpose and passion. And sometimes they are much happy than those wealthy people. But we can't also deny the fact that sometimes we choose practicality over passion. But if there's a way to invest in your passion and you already find your purpose, don't be afraid to take risk to it. Who knows that it can give you the pieces that you looking for so long.

3.Don't waste your money because of the new trends. The only trend that you should dive in is the trend of financial literacy.

It is one of the the problems today. If there's a new trends, people will immediately hook on that then you will get budol or you buy it impulsively. I can't deny that even me is like this sometimes. Of course we want to joined in the trend and we are curious about it. But trends today will become out of date after a month. There's also an instances that you will be realizing that you just wasting your money because you actually don't know where to use it. The choice is yours, spend your money for a meantime or save it for the lifetime. On the other hand, allow yourself to be finally literate. Be a wise spender and a long-term saver.

4.Dont fear aging, you only need to fear it when you get old doing nothing

Most of us became nervous when we reach in our 30s, 40s and 50s. We think that our life became shorter every day. But we should not think about our age but instead think what are the things that you should be done. Age is just a number and it can't be a hindrance if your really want to achieve something. Don't let your age decides your capacity but use it as your advantage to understand how to rule your life.

5.If you already reach the top, don't forget to still step your feet on the ground.

Simply even you are successful or not, you should know how to humble yourself. You don't need to show off all of the things that you achieve to discriminate someone. Instead you must inspire them to be like you not be hated by them. I only counted a person as a successful one if I know that his attitude really fits to her success. Beyond money, power and success, attitude is still on the top. Be a human who knows how to humble, show humility and humanity.

That is only some of the advices that we received from our dearest professor J. One of the reason why I am excited to joined on his class because he make sure that we will get some real life lessons from his discussion. He also values application than module based teaching which is actually nice. We can actually read the modules by ourselves so we much need someone who guide us how to connect in real life. Our next class to him is this Friday and we are waiting for his next advice to us.
