Bitcoin Cash Fire Fighters || Agorism in Action
Bitcoin Cash water tanker turned into fire engine 🚒 because of love for humanity
It was late in the night, when many have exhausted out their daily activities; people were already asleep when I heard some voices crying and shouting in our neighborhood.
It was a fire outbreak that wasn’t prepared for by anyone, neither anticipated by anyone. The cause of the fire outbreak is still a mystery to the community, but such incidents is common at this time of the year considering the season that we’re into.
It targeted a building that is still under construction 🚧, lots of materials and properties were expected to be in there. Meanwhile, the owner of the building doesn’t live close by.
I was awoken from the voice of community members who came out in mass to save their properties, children and farm lands.
Being a Bitcoin Cash community member has taught me about Agorism; which is a social philosophy that advocates creating a society in which all relations between people are voluntary exchanges by means of counter-economics, engaging with aspects of nonviolent revolution.
We been in this; creating a local economy and a community that is benefiting from what we’re building on Bitcoin Cash. The fire incident left me with no choice than to represent the whole Bitcoin Cash community in putting humanity first in everything that we do.
We couldn’t make it to the site on time because we’re not notified on time.
People were busy trying to contact the state fire service commission and water cooperation which every effort that night proved abortive. When I saw what was happening, and the damage that would be incurred if nothing serious is done to salvage the ugly situation, I volunteered BCH water tanker to do the work of a fire 🔥 engine 🚒
The fire was so devastating that people became very afraid 😱, the height and smoke where raised up to the sky with black tick smoke, and the brightness of the site was as if the sun has fallen down on us.
Luckily enough, we had water in BCH water tanker which were supposed to deliver to customers in the next morning. I drove off to the site without further delay. I also called on some of BCH community members that are living close to my place to join me for the fight. Some of the firefighters were @David_BCH and @Fantasy who volunteered themselves to work with me. My foreman was very helpful too. I also, was encouraged greatly from the involvement of the community members who joined in the fight.
Eventually, after few hours, we’re able to stop the fire.
Indeed, we risked our businesses and lives, but to me, it doesn’t matter those little loss of materials, water, fuel, diesel and everything we contributed; what maters to me always is that humanity; I mean others are being preferred first before material things. No life was lost at the end, many properties were saved, and others were lost 😞
Our tanker is voluminous that it was enough to contend the fire problem. I hope that our villagers and community members wouldn’t forget this event in a hurry. Many people who witnessed the night incident may eventually see us during the day times and recall.
The effect of the heat on us
Till the time of writing, I’ve not seen other fellow fighters that fought the fire with me, I believe they’re weak and resting in their houses. For me, I only sustained minor scratches here and there, apart from my manager/foreman who incurred a dislocation on his right arm. David was also affected from the aggressive heat from the dungeon. It was my first experience of fighting such fire outbreak. We were affected by the heat because we’re not fully prepared, neither did we possess the tools needed for such tasks.
Our gratitude goes to our community that have accepted the use of Bitcoin Cash, as we’re building a local economy on Bitcoin Cash, we believe that lots of people in Africa and throughout the world are going to benefit from the power of a permisionless utility called Bitcoin Cash.
Reminder
You are hereby invited to our end of the year Bitcoin Cash community meetup in Southeast Nigeria which will happen in Enugu state Nigeria. (Coal City State)
Date is on the 27th of December 2021
We want to remind all BCH users and merchants to make themselves available that day as we’re going to discuss very important issues on how to better push the adoption of BCH in Africa.
We also have arrangements to distribute BCH gifts to the (vulnerable and poor) people around. Elderly people shall be visited on that day as we troop into their homes in our groups. Thanks.
