Love the person who is in the mirror
September 28, 2022
Everyone makes blunders sometimes, so give yourself some slack. Keep in mind that you can learn a lot from your missteps, so try not to be too hard on yourself. Make sure you don't forget that learning from your errors is essential to your development. Aiming for perfection is futile, so take it easy on yourself. The most important thing is that you work on acknowledging your shortcomings and bettering yourself whenever possible.
Because the beast within us is hungry, self-love and acceptance are incredibly challenging. And if we do three, he'll demand five more. This is how humans are wired, but if it weren't, we'd be able to sit together in harmony. I think nature has a greater grasp on these matters than we do. The question then becomes, how do we, the impoverished, find happiness for ourselves?
As a first step, let's constantly remind ourselves that we aren't superhuman and can't win over every obstacle just by being ourselves. Let's be honest about our flaws and inadequacies, but still be tolerant of ourselves. Let's not be too lazy to accept it. Truth be told, we're all secretly harboring our own personal lion, an ideal version of ourselves that we'll never quite be able to fully realize.
Without his features, we hate our own appearance. It's the cranky lion that nags, pokes, and bites us day in and day out, only to lay low for a while when we're feeling the love. Love is so massive that it even consumes the lion's den. Your so-called love is a traitorous emotion that quickly burns itself out. Furthermore, if we are the ones who are abandoned, the lion returns, slightly older and wilder than before.
At that point, it resumes its assault, aimed at making us feel increasingly despised and ashamed.
We need to figure out the source of our grief and despair, make an accurate diagnosis, and begin treatment as soon as feasible.
So, we need to rapidly understand that it's not just being abandoned that bothers us so much, but also drifting further from our principles. We may not be able to find the perfect partner right away, but we should celebrate every achievement we make toward that goal and be as kind to ourselves as we are critical.
We can only hope that wherever this journey takes us, it will help us to evolve and expand our capacities. Let's get to work within the framework of the opportunities life provides us. On this path, whatever we have right now is invaluable.
If we're supposed to be students, then let's do our very best academically and see what we can achieve.
Let's try to impress our superiors at work if we must. Let's give it our best shot at learning more across the board and improving our manners. When that happens, things will finally start going our way. Having a positive outlook on life leads to a more positive and loving relationship with one's self.
Expectations of oneself should be reasonable. Let's stop shouting "amen" to prayers that won't be answered and get to work on what we can change instead. Mastering this task will make it simpler to love, be loved, and achieve success. Let's check in with our intuition every once in a while.
Don't lose sight of the fact that God sent you here. Don't give away the secret location. Oh, then, we better look out for number one.
