Kakanin na Biko
Good morning everyone, it's me again Mariene.Avery for another article. This morning we woke up early to cook Biko since yesterday a lot of "niyog" from our Coconut trees fell down due to windy weather yesterday. We have this rkind of rice called "malagkit" so we decided to cook something for our "meryenda" later and we came up to cook this dessert.
Biko is a Filipino rice cake made from sticky rice or "malagkit", coconut milk, and brown sugar. Like other rice cakes, this is referred to as "kakanin" and is often eaten as dessert or "meryenda". This sticky rice has some toppings called "latik". It is made from coconut milk cooked slowly until it reduced into golden brown curds. It taste very delicious too.
This Biko cooked by my beloved husband really tastes delicious. Supposedly this is for meryenda but we already started eating half of it this morning. We can't help but eat it because if it's very delicious aroma. It became part of our breakfast now as dessert.
What about you guys? Can you share what do you have/had for breakfast this morning? Comment it now. Have a great day ahead to everyone.
