A plethora of Facebook users are beyond excited with the release of the Metaverse, but one should proceed with extreme caution before becoming engulfed in what is essentially "The Matrix" come to reality. The Metaverse is certainly more than meets the eye.
Did you know?
Two of the primary words in vogue today are meritocracy and metaverse. Merriam-Webster defines meritocracy thus: "a system, organization, or society in which people are chosen and moved into positions of success, power, and influence on the basis of their demonstrated abilities and merit."
So how do we define the metaverse? Let's see how Mark Zuckerberg defines it. "Think of the metaverse as an immersive virtual world where people can spend time together and hang out, much like you can do today with virtual reality, dialed up to 11. You’ll be able to 'teleport' between different experiences."
Sounds cool on the surface, right? But hold on. Did you know that both meritocracy and metaverse were words coined in the sci-fi dystopian novel "Snow Crush" which was written as a cautionary tale?
In a sense, we all have been living in a mini-metaverse. We're all online - we're connected to the Internet darn near everywhere we go. While some say that virtual life isn't real life, real life is becoming increasingly a reflection of what happens online, much like Plato's "Allegory of the Cave."
For example, we are able to meet virtually via Zoom and Face Time and Viber. Some of us get our "news" (propaganda) from social media.
And then there are the offshoots of "Snow Crush" - Ready Player One and the film series The Matrix.
Getting the picture now?
Welcome?
It's more like welcome to "The Matrix" than the cleverly designed metaverse. Reality is now virtual. But here is the kicker: our freedom is only as free as one’s technological overlords like Zuckerberg, Gates, Dorsey and Soros allow, and artificial intelligence (AI) is slowly, but surely as the sun rises, rendering humanity completely unnecessary, inferior and obsolete.
What we have, then, is the metaverse, which is a dystopian meritocracy, a virtual world where freedom is a conditional construct based on one’s worthiness and willingness to comply. In other words, boys and girls, and whatever's (add your make-believe gender here) must play by metaverse rules or become an outcast.
Look what freedom activist and legal scholar John W. Whitehead says: "Consider that in our present virtue-signaling world where fascism disguises itself as tolerance, the only way to enjoy even a semblance of freedom is by opting to voluntarily censor yourself, comply, conform and march in lockstep with whatever prevailing views dominate."
We are already seeing this, dear readers. We self-censor ourselves so we don't get booted off of Twitter or go to Facebook jail for violations. I'm not on Twitter and never will be. I am on Facebook but only briefly for a few minutes per day. Facebook is designed to not only make us feel bad about ourselves, but also to indoctrinate us with the false narratives that the elite technocrats want us to believe. Stay pn to long enough and you are immersed in the matrix of the new reality which is not real at all.
Take for example the fact-checkers. They deny actual facts and instead use propaganda. And guess what - fact-checkers are paid by the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, George Soros and Bill Gates. Are you waking up from your slumber yet?
Science Fiction becomes Science Fact
If any one of us dares to embrace so-called perilous concepts that run counter to social media's idea of truth, such as supporting unpopular political movements—we will soon find ourselves banned from any form of financial transactions, such as buying or selling, our work, and from society at large. Facebook will ban us, Twitter will cancel us, Instasham will de-platform us, and our bosses will give us ultimatums that compel us to choose between our so-called freedoms and our economic survival.
Thankfully, there is #BCH and other cryptocurrencies to offset this increased tyranny in our new dystopian world. This article, then, is not a scaremongering hit piece but rather a clarion call for readers to wake up to the new reality of Silicon Valley technocrats. These are the same people who have bought our political leader (and I use the term lightly).
The present
We are now living under the spell of artificially intelligent machines that are on a hasty push to replace all of humanity and in short order dominate every aspect of our lives.
Like the movie, "The Matrix," we may (and this is not certain) have the option to take the red pill or the blue pill. As Whitehead notes: "We can take the red pill and wake up and join the resistance, or take the blue pill, remain asleep and serve as fodder for the powers-that-be."
Make no mistake about it, the metaverse is "technological tyranny and iron-fisted control delivered by way of the surveillance state, corporate giants such as Google and Facebook, and government spy agencies such as the National Security Agency."
The Internet of Senses (IoS) us upon is, looming behind the Internet and enabled by AI. Don't say you haven't been warned.
Sad and true everything in this post. Opting out from anything that censors and contains human nature is the solution. Social media have grown in such power to reshape human nature and restrict freedoms. Eliminate anyone with an opposing view on any contradictory argument that could appeal to the masses. A tool to force opinions and create new standards of thinking. Behavioural control with advanced analytics, violation of privacy, a thought police to act according to some vague user agreement rules.
